Custom dictionary - HTC Rezound

Not quite sure how to explain this. But on my bb I could go into the dictionary and add my own words. For example, if I typed na(space) it would automatically come up "sorry not available". Does anyone know.how to do this on an android phone? I tried to find an option on my Samsung fascinate and droid charge, no luck.

Some keyboards allow you to do acronyms like Slide It I think.

Smart Keyboard Pro allows you to do this.

You can add them as you go on swype.

You can add them as you go with the stock keyboard too. As soon as you start typing a down arrow appears. Hit that and at the bottom there is a button that says add word. Or you can you can through the settings menu, language and keyboard, touch input then to personal dictionary.

You guys are misunderstanding... Basically he wants to add shortcuts... For example typing abc I can make it type out "my name is cares"

wildfire change keyboard: Error inserting smart keyboard pro

guys, just a little problem:
I downloaded the latest version and, after enabling the keyboard settings menu - language and keyboard,
when I open a text message, and I try to change the input method, nothing shows, I have the ability to change keyboard
always appears the original, I tried to reboot to disable keybord smart, to re-enable it, but nothing,
When I click on "integration method" returns to the screen with the original keyboard, not smart .. Why?
something wrong? well, I looked around, and I have not found anyone with my problem ..
tips?
hello, I have resolved, I was wrong in practice once you've enabled the keyboard settings menu, open a new sms, and hold on "type text here" so you can choose the input method!
Ha just found this thanks my boss has a wildfire and didn't like the standard keyboard and me having a Galaxy S I thought oh thats easy lets get him a new one.
I had the same problem I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to change the default keyboard glad you figured it out I was there for ages.
Maybe its just you and me

[Q] Make swype dictionary forget words?

On the SGS2, if the Swype dictionary doesn't know a word, you simply type it out as normal, then press space and in the future that word will be saved in the default swype dictionary so you can swipe it the next time.
But sometimes i don't know how to spell a word, so i type it in wrong and Google corrects me, but swype now remembers it. Or I type in an acyonym and now Swypes remember that too.
How can I delete "junk" that I have added to the Swype dictionary through just normal usage? I dont want to switch to Samsung Keyboard everytime I type something I'm not sure of.

Click to collapse
Incase you want to make the Swype Dictionary forget a word, simply type out the mispelled word, long tap on it and click "Select Word".
Therafter, click on the Swype Options button on the Keyboard (the one on the bottom left corner). You would get an option asking if you want to delete the word from the swype dictionary. Voila!

Changing keyboards?

So, maybe I am just stupid, blind, or whatever. I cannot find how to change the keyboard on Evo 3D. I have Swiftkey and Swype on the device. Both are enabled. But how in the holy name of boobies do you start using it? Once Swiftkey did make an appearance at text entry, but next time I had to use the keyboard, HTC default keyboard came up.
Any tips?
Pull up something with a text entry box, press the box and hold down, and a little thing should pop up with Input Method. Click that and choose whichever keyboard you'd like
Wow, thanks, simple enough.

Go SMS Pro

I search this forum, AT&T Galaxy Note I717 Themes and Apps and did not get any results to this issue, so here it goes...
I can add words to the dictionary, but the dictionary does not hold the words in memory for any length of time. When I am in the app, I long press on a word to add to dictionary and I get the little saved message. However, if I exit out or reboot the phone, it seems to not have the word in the dictionary and I have to add the work again.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there some other process I need to follow?
Thanks in advance.
I add words straight into the keyboard dictionary. I haven't done it from within GoSMS Pro. When I add it in the keyboard dictionary it seems to stay.
I will give it a shot. I am assuming I go for settings, keyboard...

I didn't realize how hard it was to get to till I just looked to type it out
settings - language and keyboard - samsung keyboard - xt9 advanced settings - xt9 my words- settings button then add.
It still does not seem to hold the words added to the dictionary added via both methods. Does it matter using your method words are being added to the Samsung Keyboard and I am using a Go SMS keyboard?
Ahhh. I'm using the Samsung Keyboard which does save my words. I haven't tried the GO SMS Keyboard yet.

[Q] Stock Android Keyboard - Switch to numpad

Hello,
i googled for quite some time now, but I couldn't find ANY answer. So I guess this is not possible but I thought I can ask here. Maybe someone knows something.
Is it possible, while typing with the stock android keyboard (Jelly Bean) to switch to the Numpad? I've uploaded two pictures to make things clear.
In the first pic you see the normal android keyboard. In the second one you see the numpad, but which only occurs if the text field only allows numerical input. What I want is to switch from the normal keyboard to the numerical one.
Example:
I am writing a note (in my fav. note app) or a sms. In this note/sms I type some longer Numbers (wlan-key, phone number, birthday... you name it). This is when I want to switch to the numpad, because I cannot describe how much I hate to input numbers when they are not in a 3x3 grid (like a numpad).
In the stock Android Keyboard, when I press the number button (bottom left) the numbers appear in a ROW on the top. I honestly don't get how people can type numbers with this.... It would drive me crazy. I could talk hours about how much i hate it. But I want to keep this kind of short
Swype has this feature: either hold the numbers key next to the swype button. Or swype from the swype-key to the t and the numpad appears. Really nice!
I was just wondering if something like this is possible for the Android keyboard.
greetings
PS: I tried a lot of different keyboards and only swype had both: swype input and numpad. Why? I think a numpad for numerical input is the best way to go. I really don't get why you want it any other way.
I dont know about the stock key board but swiftkey keyboard can also put the numbers in a 3x3 grid...although partially . I am attaching a screen shot
Hope this helped

Thank you for your reply. I forgot about SwiftKey. Last time I've tried it, something bothered me, but I cannot remember what it was. Maybe I give it another try.
But still I am curious about the stock keyboard. Because I refuse to believe they did not implement this feature, since I think it is quite essential. And when it comes to choosing a keyboard, it's a deal breaker for me.
