I have been on miui and wanted to try ics. It was all good and it was running fine but i missed miui. I flashed chads kernel through the flashimage app and wiped all and reflashed miui and its stuck on the logo. I have tried to wipe and reflash 10 times and still the same thing. I dont have a comp now so what do i do????

Did you flash through flash gui or by putting the phone into recovery via command prompt?

I dont understand why if i flashed a aosp kernel through flashimage app why it didnt work. I wiped all its stuck on the miui boot logo. Wtf!!! i dont have my comp now so what do i do? im so confused cause ive done it a million times and this time it did this.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Why didn't you make a nandroid of miui for when you wanted to go back? As we all know ics isn't near complete yet,
Always nandroid, works out better in long run waiting.g those couple mins.

Ok so i think im screwed until i get my comp back. One question is since i.have twrp installed can i still flash through fastboot? if so then im all good. Its weird i thought maybe the kernel didnt take so i reflashed ics and it boots fine but once the main screen pulls up the screen is unresponsive. I think my only option is fastboot.

Ok I have a problem I flashed bulletless Rom 2.5 like I always flash roms I rebooted my phone into recovery (CWM touch) did a factory reset/wipe then I flashed the rom and everything went great I rebooted my phone and the rom booted and I went through the set up. I didnt really like the rom so I rebooted the phone with the advanced power menu into recovery but when I rebooted the phone it just hung at the white HTC screen so I thought no big deal I'll reboot the phone into bootloader then Recovery and try flashing it again but when my phone boots into bootloader and I select recovery I can see a quick glimpse of the recovery screen then the phone reboots and just hangs on the white HTC screen again??????
I tried reflashing the CWM touch from fastboot but that didnt fix it
So I tried flashing the regulat CWM recover from fastboot but still no go
Then I tried to flash TWRP recover and when I boot into that I can see the splash screen for it but then the phone reboots and hangs on the white HTC screen
Does anyone know why this happened and how I can fix it please dont tell me that my phone is bricked
PPlease some one help

Chuck Norris CAN touch MC Hammer!
I had same issue when I tried CapAlpha ROM.
Your phone isn't bricked.... Just soft bricked.
Just restore a previous backup from hboot>recovery.... Make sure u restore using the same recovery you used to backup with... Just to be safe. That may mean flashing a new recovery through fastboot.

Just relock the bootloader, flash the RUU (you dont need recovery for any of these steps), get to stock and start over...

I also tried to do this but the RUU on XDA does not work I tried it 3 times and got errors every time
I'm not sure what i did but after flashing lots of different recoverys and boot.img's using the all in one tool I got my phone to boot into recovery so I formated and wiped everything and installed Energy's rom and all seems to be working fine now thanks guys

Im not an expert, but did you create a backup? or try wiping twice over and re-installing.

same thing happened to my phone with CM 10, so i ended up instaling the android revolution rom for the time being.
What recovery are you using? Use 4ext if you aren't, try again, if it loops more than once, you either forgot to wipe before install or you need to flash the kernel manually.

I also had a problem when I flashed Speedrom but with versions 6.5 which I had previously working perfectly but then decided to switch to SS3 and then switch back. Now I also had the bootloop issue thing where the thing would just keep spinning. So I re-flashed SS3 with the faux kernel and then just did the two things:
4EXT Recovery btw
Wipe data/factory reset
Clear dalvik cache
Then install the rom and once done, go back to menu and reboot from recovery. It should tell you that the previously used boot.img will be used (that is what I get when I flash my roms and they work perfectly).
+1 is this helped!
Thanks it worked! Though I switxhed back to speed rom lol

Nice! And no problem, just happy your phone's back to normal! =)
Okay now that I've got your attention I'd like to address my problem. I made a back up of my stock Rom when I first rooted it, I'm trying to restore it but it keeps getting bootloops, I've only flashed two roms and that's cm10 and meanrom ics I wanna go back to complete stock but cant because I can't download ruu and I downloaded the p739373929 or what ever it was off the s on back to stock guide and ran it and dun dun dun nothing happened, it ran rebooted right back into mean Rom like wth lol... Anyone got any idea why my restore isn't working? And why it keeps getting bootloop?

I don't know why your getting boot loops, are you saying that you want to go back to stock as in unroot?

If you're son then you need to flash the kernel for what ever base you had through fastboot or use dumlock to restore the entire back up in one attempt. To use dumlock you will need a working rom

Ya I figured it out like 10 seconds after my reply lol damn brain farts

I generally stay away from dumlock on son devices but for nandroid restore its less hassle then having to download a corresponding kernel or trying to extract it
i just flashed jb miui and it keeps restarting when it gets to the boot loader. i did an nandroid backup of my last rom i had before miui, so i restored to it and its doing the same exact thing. any help?
im s-on
and hboot 1.58
i can still access into recovery by taking off the battery and doing VolumeDown + Powerbutton
if you could help i would really appreciate

So I screwed up royally and to an experienced rom flasher its probably no big deal and an easy fix. I was in my in recovery( TWRP 2.6.3) and installed the HTC Dumlock trying to flash a rom without a computer. My Rezound is 4.0.3, and now I get as far as the Verizon 4G LTE black screen and that's as far as it will boot... I've tried to wipe and restore like I have in the past when I've screwed up and now I'm out of ideas. I think that the boot image is "corrupted" don't know if thats the right lingo but when I reboot to bootloader the image name that always came up is now different. Can someone please help me with my dilemma? Oh and if detailed description is needed about everything that I did- I kinda freaked out and panicked and I tried so many things to fix it that I don't remember all that I did.

Extract the boot.img from the ROM zip file, flash ROM, reboot into bootloader and start Fastboot, then flash boot.img via fastboot on a PC, should clear it up...
In the future I would recommend going S-OFF via rumrunner, no more need to worry about flashing boot partitions separately ever again.
Ace, you are a genius! Got the rezzie back up and running! Flashed Tachyon 1.2, flashed the boot image via twrp and it started right up! Now if I go and delete the PH98IMG.ZIP will it still die again if I reboot in the future???
