[Q] S2 Display Issues (Vertical pixelation) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
Ive searched a few threads and seen the problems with horizontal lines but i was wondering if anyone suffers from issues seen in this article : http://blog.gsmarena.com/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-t989-and-skyrocket-suffering-from-display-issues/ ?
I've had those problems for a while now, more noticable when using the voodoo colour display settings app and the gradient issues when the backlighting is low.
For anyone with similar problems, if you returned your phone did a new one have similar problems or not at all?
Cheers!

[Q] How to fix notification bar burn-in?

My Galaxy SII has burn-in on the notification bar. When I use *#0*# to check the screen, it is obvious that red and blue is burnt-in. Anyway to get rid of it?
real burn in?
are you sure it is a burn in? Do you see it in your browser on a white page?
I thought I spotted something similar but it was just OS bleeding through at some points in the interface. I believe I experienced it with miui.us or CM7.
I found this with a Google search. The question is, why didn't you

It is burn-in. When I browse using full screen, it becomes pale blue on the notification bar

I found it as well. But changing notification bar color is too hard for me. I followed some other suggestions on post (e.g. full screen browsing, screen brightness)
The problem is, the burn-in mark is still there, it does not get fix or reduced.
I just wanna see if new solution is found since the post is already a year ago.

There is no solution, the pixels on notification bar faded because they were used more then the surrounding ones (which are now brighter). You can only minimize the risk of burn-in by lowering brightness. Its a downfall of AMOLED technology, no fix for that.

[Q] Anyone creating a color control app/Rom?

Now that the bootloader will be unlocked can there be an app or a ROM that controls the screen color temperature? There seems to be alot of units with a yellowish tint. From what I've been reading that can easily be solved with a tweak to the color system. Is this possible now that the bootloader is unlocked? Is anyone working on this at the moment that anyone is aware of?
Just curious and haven't seen many threads on it. Would love for the google homepage to look white instead of tan LOL
Someone already mentioned this app but cant find the thread at the moment so I dont really deserve the credit for finding it but there's an app called "screen adjuster". You can control Red, Green, Blue, Brightness, and Contrast. Just be warned that it could cause lag or screen flicker (more so if you adjust contrast). At least for me so I stopped using it.

how to deal with screen flicker ?

Hi. i have my GS3 for a while now and i just noticed that if i am loading a page on the internet, my screen flicker on the white page till the page loads regardless of what is the brightness.
i figured my GS3 has a problem with white color " hardware issue "
so i downloaded many screen test apps that display full colors. and my screen didnt flicker displaying any.
so i came to notice my ficker only happens when the phone is busy loading something.
i tried to tick the option in the developers option for the screen overlay ? it did nothing .
can anyone help ? figure out what is the issue ? i really dont think its a hardware issue.
i tried different roms but no luck :/
+rep for helps and suggestions. ty
so ehm. am i the only one ? lol sheesh
Can't say I've noticed any screen flickering, but then I use dolphin browser.
ive noticed this the last week or so but not on the white page. Its flickering a little when i go into the bookmarks page. Dont know whats causing it, never used to happen.
Is it real flicker or more like black boxes appearing all over the screen?
If the latter, make sure neither your Cpu nor Gpu is overclocked or undervolted since the issue usually arises with Gpu calculation errors due to overheating (improbable) or voltage problems

Dude, its most likely an incompatibility issue with the custom rom ( am i right? ) you are using. I had the exact same issue with the dolphin browser on paranoidandroid rom. Just install chrome, it most likely is compatible with most of the roms out there.

Image retention / screen ghosting problem

Hi, first off i want to start off by saying this.. ive had this device since April 29, 2020 and the issue has been noticeable ever since i got it, but it has gradually gotten worst. It usually happens when im browing in chrome or just using any kind of app for more than 3-5 minutes. Its gotten to the point where i literally just go into twitter browse my timeline for like a minute or two and i can noticeably see some tweets and the bottom navigation bar. Its so ridiculous that i started looking for threads and stuff on how to fix this issue but couldn't find anything until recently that i found a user on this forum explaining you can get rid of this by installing a rom on the device. For now im using an app called ghost screen and lowered the level of the intensity to 8% and the dim level to %8. That has fixed it but i don't feel like using the app all the time on the background. Can anyone recommend me the best rom i could use to fix this god forsaken issue? for now the only rom that im aware that i can fix this is pixel experience and just changing the color calibration on the display options. Is there a better rom that i could get that can do this too?
