I was using revolutionary recovery which worked great. Then from Rom Manager I decided to install clockwork mod recovery to make using rom manager more efficient. Well since I've done that i cant boot into any recovery at all. I can get into bootloader but when I go into recovery the phone just restarts. Running Olympus titan XE and was trying to install HD 3.0

Hey I was wondering about this too. Where can I get regular CWM for Evo 3D instead of the revolutionary one? I would like to flash it through Fastboot or Flash Image GUI but I can't seem to find it anywhere to download...

1.) would it overwrite all the CWM recovery program? also clean up the problem i had?
2.) just curious when we install CWM recovery (i use the htcevohacks.com for hboot 1.5,used CWM4.0.1.4) is it on the partition of the phone right? , can that be wiped, then reinstall new one?
Try turning off fastboot. I know I've done that a few times.

Clockworkmod 5 sucks. Use clockworkmod 4.0.1.4 or even better. 4ext recovery. Twrp also sucks. Just my opinion .

i have recently unlocked my 3d via the htc method. I had viper rom and the stock kernel on the phone. I tried to install a new kernel(anthrax infected v9). I wiped the cache and the dalvik prior to installing the kernel, post install.zip the phone is in a continuous loop. Performed wipe of all data. Tried flashing rom and kernel again, it failed again. Asked a couple of friends what might be causing this. Found out my phone has hboot 1.5 that requires flash through fastboot. How do i fix this, please help.
Need to boot in recovery with ADB or GUI app

Get into fastboot by taking out battery then [power+volume down] till it loads. Once there connect to computer and use adb and type "fastboot boot recovery.img" where recovery is the name of your chosen recovery. The recovery file must be in the same folder as the adb.
Once in recovery you can flash anything. Once you have booted a ROM I would recommend downloading flash image gui from the Market and use it to flash kernels or ROM with custom kernel. Good luck. hboot 1.50 makes things just a bit more trickier.
Recovery file could be any where you want "!

NOTE: If you took the latest 651.5 update, you have to stick with kernels that have that as a base (for now).
You are likely not flashing the kernel/rom correctly. See the Guide/flashing notes in my signature for a walkthru that will likely help.
I have a similar situation. Had viper rom up and running and then it just up and quit and now it's in a continual boot loop. I'm no where near a windows CPU that I can use fastboot for the next 40 days. How can i fix with my tablet?

So in other words I'm screwed? Isn't there a way to use my tablet running android to push the boot image to the phone?

I've been using CWM Recovery since the hero and havent ran into an issue like this before... i get an error in the /dir where the rom is being flashed from, status 1 aborting when i try flash red dark vemon and some kernels that i know are compatible with Mean3.6. i was wondering if some stuff just isn't compatible? any input is appreciated
I had that same issue and switched to ext4 recovery and it fixed the problem. I couldn't flash anything except kernels until I switched.

Edit: its called 4ext recovery.
Could also try TWRP recovery. I have never had luck flashing with CWM, going back to OG Evo.

I rooted my evo, and loaded leedroid on to it. The WiFi did not work, and I tried alot of other kernels since it should be å kernel problem. Now I flashed my nandroid just to get WiFi back, and also flashed a stock kernel. And it's still not working!
My phone is a EVO 3d gsm hboot 1.49.0018 htc unlock s-on og the stock rom and stock kernel
Does somebody out there kloss what to do?

Boot your clockworkmod by computer via fastboot method. Thats why i hate 1.50, i need computer or notebook with adb installed to flash anything.

Ok. So I sould flash my nandroid, then use adb and flash the stock kernel there?
I think the CDMA and GSM work somewhat the same via S-ON when it comes to kernels..
You should go and wipe find a rom that is close to stock that uses the stock kernel..
Then throw it on your SD card
Now turn debug on.
Now use ADB
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img
Wipe and flash the rom
Your set..
I can't seem to get my phone to boot into recovery. Does anyone have any helpful tips on how to get it to do this? It is rooted using the HTC dev unlock, and clockworkmod recovery (should) be flashed onto it. I have already disabled fast boot.

Dont use CWM, its not working right far as I know. Also you can use the app to boot into recovery. Cwm has a option should be second down in the list. I suggest you install goo inside me and install the open recovery script. It's TWRP. You can also boot into recovery from that app
