I did the one click root method after i unlocked bootloader

What exactly does this mean?
Now that we are able to unlock, and permaroot, can we put custom roms on it?
I guess what a noob like me is asking is:
What is the relationship between S-off/on and unlocked bootloaders?

Yea I tried that but it didn't work, did I do something wrong?

I had to literally keep tryin, i was gettin annoyed, u make sure ur debugging is on?

Were you in charge only if HTC sync?

Or HTC sync *

best way is to flash the amon ra image and that has a built in root function

Where is this great tool called one click root? Is it just a .zip I flash or what?

I used zergrush V3 and it worked perfectly. Search XDA and you'll find it.

[Q] Can we get radio S-Off?

I was wondering if we could get s-off on our radio since we have an unlocked bootloader? Maybe something similar to gfree for Inspire?
What do you mean by radio s-off?

something like unrevoked where you can flash unsigned patitions and have permanent root.
S-off is an HTC thing, an unlocked bootloader gives the same access.

Order of rooting and bootloader unlocking question

Is it best to unlock the bootloader then root the phone or does it not really matter what order its done in.

depending on the method used to unlock you will have to root again...question is why do you want your bootloader unlocked?
I wanna flash custom roms and install kernels and always thought it was best to be fully rooted with an unlocked bootloader.

What is the real advantage to having an unlocked bootloader.

Stock ota update deferred

I deferred the update until 2/25 the latest it would allow me to put it off. I eventually want to root and use a custom Rom I am coming from the Motorola droid x2 and CM7 and know nothing about HTC phones. Should I let the update go through or is there something I should do to stop it?

If you haven't unlocked your bootloader and you let it go through then you will not be able to root your device for the time being.

Root it now and update later

Do not allow the OTA to go thru. Root your phone and install the Mod by Justin (nitsuj) to get rid of the ota notification. If you want to root and not change your stock DNA it is possible. Then you can flash the custom rom of your choice later. My advice is to read up on all roms and kernels. How-to's before you root and make your decision on the best route to go. If you need help look for a RD/RC (Recognized Dev/Contributor) and some one will be happy to assist you. Or you can always post openly in the Q&A sections.
I have unlocked the BL installed cwm rooted and now have s-off what file do I need to stop the ota?

There's a thread in the dev forum.
And even if you don't block it. If it tries to install it it will not work.

[Q] DNA 2.04.605.2 question

I'm not an Android expert by an means. Can someone please tell me if the pop-up I'm getting on my HTC Droid DNA telling me to update to: HTC6435LVW_2.06.605.1-2.04.605.2
Is Not something there is a fix for...or it IS something there is a fix for?
My phone is rooted, S-OFF, and running teamwin recovery.
So do I need to watch this stupid Verizon pop-up or can I upgrade somehow? I see threads talking about a bounty for a crack but I'm not sure if that means there is a fix for just upgrading or not?
Thanks.
Do not upgrade. You'll lose root and soff...
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
If you're rooted and S-OFF then why don't you just flash a new rom with the updated base? I know there's a couple of stock rooted 2.06 roms in the Android Dev section.

The OTA will not make you lose s off. The only thing it will do is make you lose root.

Lol, no you won't. You'll still be unlocked and s off, and that's even if you could update with a custom recovery, which you can't.
But @op, just freeze htcdm,

They didnt and if they did they probably relocked like a stupid. Once you have s-off you have no restrictions.
Most of them relocated thinking that they could just unlock again and that the exploit wasn't patched.

Even then, if they are s off it really doesn't matter and if they were s on then they could use their old unlock code.bin to re unlock their device.

How to root 1.15?

Finally decided to root, iam still on original 1.15 software I've been searching but everything is for updated phones what's the simplest method link for 1.15 plz

Update Ur phone then do the moonshine
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium HD app
Look for facepalm
You could use Facepalm S-off, but what I would do in that situation is accept the OTA to Build # 2.06 and use Moonshine S-off. I don't know about Facepalm, but with Moonshine, it S-offs, unlocks bootloader, and roots so that all you have to do is install a custom recovery.
In shorter words, Update your phone and use Moonshine.
And P.S. This belongs in Q&A, not Development. You will most likely get more help there.

ok what the heck 4thed
I used face palm myself but from what it looks like moonshine is easier, so if your new then maybe think about it that way. But if you know your way around ADB, and whatnot then I recommend face palm like everyone above.
