I found a very simple possibility to increase the quality of the camera. Just go into the market and you load the app "igCamera".
The app has a lot of setting options. One, the bit rate from 6 to up to 20 Mbit !!!!!!
My first litte tip from me ;-) Samplevideos follow
edit: sorry my bad english: Its translatet by Google Translate
Edit2: Ah I forgot! You need an class 6 SDHC Card!!!

Update: Is works "only" till 10 Mbit...But it is better then before ;-)

Question about future Micro SDHC Cards on Titans

Now that we have the ability to use the 8gb cards on our 6800/Mogul/Titan.
Will the patch that enabled the use of 8gb cards on these phones work with cards with the size of 12gb or 16gb?
Or will our phones need new software to allow these new cards?
From what I have read on the forums, SDHC cards can be up to 32 GB and the patch will handle them up to that size.

Thanks bro. I needed some info on this because when ever the 16gb from sandisk is on sale I might buy one. But I wasn't sure what the size limit was on this patch.
writing to sd card speed
I am copying a Movie I ripped using DVD Catalyst to my 4G micro SD card and it seems to be taking an awfully long time. The file is 514MB and it looks to me that by the time I am done it will have taken somewhere around 45 minutes give or take a few. Is this normal?

Yes it does seem about normal. I convert my movies to around 256 MB or 300 and they take about 30 to convert and another 30 to import.

Thanks for the input on how long it takes to copy I thought I was having an issue for a minute there.
What do you use to convert? How do you set your settings for resolution?
I am new to this movie bussiness so I am still trying to figure out what will look the best on this little screen. I hate full screen movies so all mine are widescreen and I am trying to figure out where the happy medium is for croping etc.. I have my video rip set at 400K and audio at 128K with Framerate at 30.
How much difference in quality do you think it would make to drop the video and audio down.

I use SPB Mobile DVD. It is very easy to use.. it's like a -- b -- c and done. I convert mine to AVI and put it into Wide Screen mode too. To play my videos I use TCPMP player. My video quality is great, but since the volume on the 6800's suck I had to download the SRSWOWHD CAB which with proper configurations it increases the overall volume by 25% I think. But now i can watch and hear movies well on my XV6800.
update
I dont trim my movies either or lower the volume or anything like that. I still get a small video size.

CLASS 4 SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDHC 16GB SDSDQY-016G-E11M

SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDHC 16GB SDSDQY-016G-E11M
I had a new Class 4 16GB Micro SD Card delivered yesterday after one of my cards failed.
Speed was markebly improved over the old Class 2 cards I have. Data transfer was particularly impressive!
The card is a little pricey £££ and I could have replaced the faulty card with another cheaper Class 2 but thought I'd give the "Ultra" card from Scandisk a go.
I watch a lot of video (on the train on the way into work in London - Heroes, Battlestar Callactica etc !!!) and speed is important - especially for standard DivX with no additional compression! Any lag I had previously has now gone - Very impressed....
I ordered the card from Amazon - link below - and although it states 3-4 days for delivery it arrived next day.....
Here>>> Amazon.co.uk
ScanDisk Official details can be found >>HERE<<
.
Are you getting any skipping/jumping/pausing of music with this card? I would be interested to hear especially with your rom as I did get such problems with my class 2 16gb card and same rom (Dutty 2.3). I've just flashed my old Polaris to 3LIT3 VI Suite and am now getting the problems on this device which I never used to. Hence my theory about the card being the cause of the problem.
Will be interested to hear.
Thank you.
Wow, that is certainly impressive. I presume you're using CorePlayer to play the vids? And no lag at all? Awesome.
PS: To Galactica... best ship in the Fleet.
I've had the card for a few days mow and have just returned from London and can confirm that the video playback is greatly improved. I'm using CorePlayer - I used to get some ghosting (phasing) and the odd skip but now its very smooth indeed.
custardo01 With regard to music - I have never had an issue playing music so cant comment on why your experiencing a problem - I'd recommend copying an audio file onto the main solid state drive (device) and play from there to confirm its a problem with the card before purchasing a new one though?
Arthenik .....Galactica - Absolutely - watched the 2 hour final episode yesterday (on the HD) fantastic but such a shame its over!!!!
.
Well, I guess I'll have to get one too. I'm really impressed by your reactions.
Regarding Galactica, I watched the finale on air and then subsequently at a local Frak Party. Both times were frakkin' awesome. And yeah, I'll really miss the show a lot.

Palmde - I'll try to find some time this weekend to benchmark but as per previous posts I am very impressed - especially with viewing uncompressed video!
.
Thank's a lot for your help Blob8me.
I own already a SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDHC 8GB and i am very hapy about it: I can watch most of my movies on my HD, without to re-encode them.
I hope that the 16GB version will be at least as good.
So I am waiting your results.
£38.99 including delivery here. They say it's class 4 ?
Just asking but where the hell do you need class 4 microsdhc?
class 4 means it writes 4mb/sec VIDEO to same place in card, so datastream stays healthy for camera usage for example 1080p HD CAMERA.
It doesnt mean it only works that slow. Our HD cannot even match those speed anywhere near. And second these phones do not use that kind of file management to save continuous file stream.
For example I have kingston class 2 and it writes 12mb/sec when using cardreader on PC.
Or example 2 so people really understands. There is SDHC card from sandisk which is Extreme III 30mb/s edition. That is only class 6 card. And it still writes as fast as 30mb/sec. Ive tested this and can confirm since I have those on my DSLR camera.
So question is why do you pay MORE for NOTHING?
Dont read class number, read what it writes and reads per second its what you want to know.
Edit: Ofcourse bigger class means it can be better but class number doesnt tell its real speed. since class number is for continuous data (video writing)

And it has lifetime Warranty!
With kindly regards MacRoy

Just purchased this one myself, waiting for it to be delivered. An 8 GB Class 6 Transcend card came with the purchase of my HD and it's been the best card I've owned so it was an easy choice for me. I wouldn't go cheap on something like this personally, you get what you pay for.
I bought the 16gb class 6 earlier today because my 16gb class 2 is starting to give me and my computer MAJOR problems. Up until now, the card has worked like a dream. I can't wait to see how much faster the class 6 will be like
i bought this card a few days ago

waiting it to come...
i'm hoping it's gonna be delivered in a 2 weeks period so i'll give my opinion then on the card speed
the card has arrived....
by putting it in my PC the higgest speed I got was 5,2 Mb per second
I would like to make some more test so if anyone can give me some tool for testing the actual speed of the card I will report back with the results...

hello,
I bought the "Transcend Micro SDHC 16 GB Class 6" and since I can't flash any ROM, I formatted the card several times (FAT32) but to no avail,
you see the same thing?
Also this card is not compatible if you want to switch on Android.

my card is not transcend but I didn't formatted it when i got it... i just made a restore to defaults and once again installed all of my programs on it.. did you try that?
maybe you should format it with NTFS instead of FAT32?
but i don't understand why you said that you can't flash any ROM? did you try doing that already?
Looks good. Did you try copying 16GB worth of data onto it ? Some of these cards could be fakes and have lower capacity than stated.

by now i have 13,1 GB of data on the card... still haven't filled it to the end
in the SD properties on the phone it says 15185.50 MB of storage availabe... i suppose that that is 16 GB...
I know youre all speed freaks - and youre talking about the class 6 cards...
But i just ordered this one (16GB, Class2, ~22$) (urgh - china product... - i never trust those *g* - but the price is just half of all i've seen before)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270528336681
as the 8GB delivered with the HD also just was Class 2 i thought thats enough for me...
And it's just a third of the price for the class 6 cards youre talking about.
Actual my question is - what do we need class 6 for?
Don't missunderstand me - I don't want to flame anyone for buying class 6 - but in my case about 7 of 8 GB are static on the card (means i transfered it once to the card and it never changes - Music) and 1 GB is dynamic (new Progs and new Music,...) but even this doesn't change every day all at once but about 20mb every day (max).
So with class 6 we save some time on the first copy progress - agree.
And every day about 10 seconds.
I know the example above is just for me but I think it would fit for most of u *g*
So why all people are so keen on this class 6 ? (i ofter read about in this forum not just in HD section)
btw. the tested speeds of those cards - most are tested in external readers are they? Does our HD even reach them in USB mode? or even worse - in ActiveSync mode? Cause i don't take my card out every day to copy some files...
greetings
Edit: k some people might watch videos on their HD every day which could take a while to sync - but USB and ActiveSync quests are still out...
forgot the video thing - cause i just once watched a video on my HD half -> battery life is not made for in my opinion

it all depends on what do you need it for...
for me class 6 saves me a lot of time because i download approximately 10-20 GB of music a month, and somwhere about 20 GB of movies and tv shows...
so basically i transfer somewhere around 1-4 GB a day from my PC to my card...
true, if you're doing that through the USB or ActiveSync you probably won't see the difference, but i often don't have the time to do that so I use the microSD adapter and transfer it a lot quicker to my sd card than it would be done through the USB or ActiveSync
on the end it all depends on what you're looking for and for what price...
Class 6
From what I see, don't bother with class 6 16G. I bought one. Testing the speed on sd card is great but once it put it on HD, it's no different than my Class 2 8G. Could have just purchase a Class 2 16G.

Hi,
I just got an email from ebay asking me not to finalize this order because of problem with the seller.
It seems that this is a scam.
Be careful.
Bemi
the question is not "what is the fastest class 4/6 card" in my eyes.
I bought the HD with the standart 8GB.....class "dont-know"...
of course I thought following:
higher class, bigger card = more expensive than slow and small...
so I tried to find out which card is included....
I found NO information about it. there is nothing to find on the HTC site.
no seriuos information to find on forums...
and nothing "written" on the card itselfe.
so I thought about buying the best and fastet card (testet with real test equipment).....
BUT
because the card-speed is degraded by the hardware you try to read/write....
and there is not a single information to find about what a HTC HD can handle....
(I asked the HTC support and did not get an answer at all)...
I decided to DONT buy another card at all....
I see no advantage to buy the fastes card it the cellphone is not able to use it.
SO : Is there anyone here, how can say that it is worth to buy a class6 card e.g. ??
if : where do you got the information a HD can handle the speed at all ?
thanks
alex

Sadly I don't have an iControlPad, it'll definitely work though.
I might have missed it, and it's pretty basic to begin with, but did you ever put a micro SDHC card in and access files from it? From your experiences, any recommendations on class, etc?
Its confirmed working with sdhc AND sdxc. Class 4 is best for general use as it has highest ram. Class 10 is best for video capture and playback as it has faster sequential read/write speeds
This message will self-destruct in 30 seconds.

Class 10 isn't particularly better for video capture/playback, to be perfectly honest. Unless your video bitrate is extremely high a Class 4 will be perfectly sufficient to play it back without any issues. A Class 10 won't do it any better, it'll just have more wasted overhead while it does it. Otherwise sound advice, no particular reason to go to the highest class available.
For myself I like my 64GB micro SDXC card

I got mine direct from Sandisk when they came out (I live in NZ, used Shipito to get it sent here - guide for using Shipito on my blog if you're outside the US). They must be available elsewhere by now too, but I'd make sure you're buying from somewhere reputable if you're not buying direct from Sandisk - these are one of the most faked electronics out there!
