i am having galaxy s II with android version 2.3.5 and it has security lock problem.when i set any lock ( pattern,pin etc) it does not works.can anybody help me to fix this bug?thanks

"it does not workzies" and "it borked" are very vague descriptions of your problem.
what firmware are you running on your phone.
go to settings - about phone, post the last 3 lines so we can help.

does the lock screen pop up at all ? or does it go straight to the rom when you wake it up.
does the rom have jkay installed ? if yes does the lock screen for jkay pop up.
bro i have no idea about jkay.
when i swype the screen for unlock then no pattern and pin lock comes.it simply remains the same like if i haven't set any security.
please note no lock is working.
how to check whether the jkay is installed or not?
you have an older version of checkrom, which may have had the security locks deleted from it.
I suggest you upgrade your version to the latest one from this thread and you may have all the functions working including jkay.

but wont it help if the android ice cream sandwich will relaese officially for galaxy s2?becasue i have never play like that with the mobile so it can damage the phone.
you could also backup all your data. (titanium backup perhaps) or use google backup services (locate it under privacy in settings) then reflash your phone to factory settings.. test it whether it works there. (there is no reason why it shouldnt) then reinstall. should be done within an hour..

Since i am a new user, i can't post in the proper thread.
Last night i installed CyanogenMod 7.1 in my Galaxy Ace. I am astonished as it gave a new live to my phone. I also instaled V6 Supercharger. I was comming from Villain 2.3.3, wich started to gave me SoD's.
I would like to know if there is a fix for my 3 problems:
- When i make a call, the call screen goes to the notification bar. Is there a way to keep it showing as long as the call goes ? (normal behavior)
- In the contacts list, there isn't a search bar/button. Is it possible to add one, as i see this rom is higly customizable, but i searched in options and didnt find it.
- Kies no longer connects to my phone. I dont know if this is normal, because my older VillainRom worked OK with Kies. Contacts restore was a real P.I.T.A. .

there is a setting which can solve that in settings menu i had a same problem of call
search bar is for touchwiz so in cyanogenmod its not available but u can use touchpal dialer
kies only suppoerts touchwiz and in cyanogenmod touchwiz is removed hence cant connect
Hi all, so I've rooted by phone using the amazing one click script and have managed to unlock the phone using sgs unlock tool but sgs2 could not find my unlock code.
Before attempting this I backed up my EFS folder.
Its been a while since i've flashed anything (a few years ago on my old old htc hero, had a desire hd since that which I didn't feel the need to flash at the time) and Now I have my SGS2 which came locked on the orange UK network.
Not amazed with the colour scheme and much preferred the blue battery etc of the virgin simfree sgs2 I had previously lol. It appears to have lots of orange bloatware present on the ROM aswell as annoying boot animation which i'd like to remove.
I do quite like the signal boost app idea although not sure how well it works as not had chance to try it!
I've added Go Launcher and a nice ICS theme on there to play with and a HTC sense theme but not overly impressed with go launcher and it seems to stop my search button function from functioning for some reason. I've got plenty of apps installed and configured although one thing that has annoyed me is being able to remove googlemail and gtalk from the social hub program as having google account sync on, I get 2 notifications about my emails.

Whats the latest best stock ROM in peoples opinions? How do I remove orange bloatware via adb and is it possible to modify the orange boot screen? Alternatively... so I just wipe and flash a new stock simfree rom to start with?
Just looked at ICS Domincation with Soulbound, the theme looks very nice... whats the overall opinion on the ROM from majority of people? Should I switch from the stock rom optins possibly? .
ICS is a leaked buggy test build it has not been released by Samsung .

I would recommend flashing hyperdroid (personal favorite) v5 final if you want to use ics domination.
Most themes won't work on odexed roms like the totally stock Samsung ones. You would need a deodexed custom rom.
To freeze bloatware or remove it I would use titanium backup or Gemini app manager (this also manages auto runs)
When installing a new rom you will need to wipe data, so use titanium backup to backup user app data and apps only, SMS backup+ to backup sms's and sync your contacts to Google.
Your internal and external SD cards won't be wiped but always backup stuff you can't afford to lose.

i have a problem, the logo screen of samsung galaxy ace s8.. waits for about 40 seconds/more and only afterwards goto boot animation which takes a while to.
i don't remember the phone acting that way usually the logo screen is only for a moment.
iv installed stock after Cyanogen and i understand thats not good but i used stock light 6 which should be supported and it does work except for this part.
what can cause this kind of behavior?
and second question.since i wanted to return to stock rom i checked it out and i have 2 questions about it
1) can i use kies and is it better or worse than odin?
2) what are the different between the same versions of android and what does fit me (for example S5830XWKS2 S5830XXKPO both are 2.3.5 and 2.3.6 have different one completely)

well i can answer your second question
2.3.xx versions are just minor updates ...sometimes they fix wifi and bluetooth problems and sometimes also improve battery life..they improve the stability and and performance if the phone and add some eye candys ( the 2.3.5 version adds overscroll glow effect)...
about your first question : did u wipe cache partition after flashing the rom??? see if it helps...

they are for diffrent countries and regions ...like 2.3.6 for india is ddkq8 but for europe and other places its a diffrent version having a diffrent code...

Hi there.. i have a problem. if i lock my device normally, it can be unlocked as usual.
if it is in widescreen and i lock it, it will just simply reboot... i allready tried to reinstall jellybam, cleard all caches, deactivated the BAM percistenses (i have BAM!Droid, newest version) and reinstalled it , nothing worked. now i think of simply reinstalling 4.1.2 and put on jellybam again. Jellybam did update my android to 4.2.2, can i just install the (leaked) 4.1.2 again with Odin? or do you think i should use the official one? if yes, which one? i looked it up on sammobile.com , there is " GERMANY - XEG" and "GERMANY - MBC" aswell as "GERMANY - DBT" .. i dont know what i need so i thought about just using the leaked 4.1.2 again, that worked quite well for me some time ago when official 4.1.2 wasnt out for the S2.

E: ok, atm im using the holo locker as a bypass it works quite well but i want to fix the problem, i personally like the normal locker more.

In the stock Samsung Jelly Bean 4.3 OS I have seen many folks talk about how to use the following option....
Settings - My Device - Lock Screen - Lock Screen Widgets - Favourite Apps or Camera
but I don't have that option on my Galaxy Note 2 at all after updating to Jelly Bean 4.3 (N7100XXUEMK9, which I think is the official version for my Note 2 , living in the UK)
Can anyone else please check if they have the above option on their stock 4.3 installation? I would really like to be able to make use of this feature and loads of people are talking about how to use it so it must be that a lot of people have it on their Note 2.
What I don't understand is the reason why it's not on mine. Is it....
- wrong firmware
- faulty installation (I have tried it twice now)
- simply not meant to be available on UK phones on 4.3
If anyone else with a Note 2 running any of the stock 4.3 versions can check to see if they have it (or not), and what location their firmware is, it would help me out.
