Remove asus prime sleeve - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Any one know how to remove the asus sleeve from the prime? I am guessing you just pull it out, but it seems like I will break it if I pull to hard.
Edit---
Sorry I thought I was in the accessories forum.

Just pull it I know you want to be very careful with this beautiful hardware I was the same way

The ASUS website says to pull it downwards and then out.

Towards bottom of page are the instructions.

That cover is awesome where can I get one!!

Not so fast, read over the threads about this thing in the accessories section. People are reporting that this thing is damaging their tablets.
Edit: Link

Yeah its nice and thin but I would not buy it if I know it was gonna leave scratches on it!
It's fine if you have a skin protector or a piece of tape on the hinge to stop the scraping and are gentle with it!

I was getting ready to say that I was researching for a sleeve I saw this very same sleeve getting one starred on Amazon.com as it damages the tablet .
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Sleeve-C...iewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending
that's pretty sad Asus, really.

I've had this sleeve since the 23rd and it has not damaged my Transformer. I don't know what the others are talking about.
I do agree it's overpriced, but i definitely like the ability to have it stand up while I wait for my dock.
To remove the sleeve, pull the metal part to the side and then out.

Is there an apple ipad style case for the G Tab

I ordered my G Tab from Woot as many others did. I really like the thin iPad 1 case and have been searching for one for the GTab but haven't been able to find one. I'm not really looking for a big leather case. I'm looking for something similar to this forum post on the Galaxy site: ht tp:// forum.xda-developers.com/ showthread.php?t=893697 (sorry I can't post links)
The Galaxy case that is sold at hand held items (link to hand held in the above spaced out link) looks very similar to the iPad one too but is better because it's not an "i" product.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now for the good news, there are 7 custom cases in this thread.
I got a CLIP case from fellow xda member it2steve and I will say it is the first Apple quality case I've seen for our gTabs.

Thank you. I read that thread and a bunch of other ones on here too...I have seen many different options on here, but not many in the stores. I will look into the CLIP case further. What do people think about the CaseCrown case on Amazon for the G Tab?
I'd like to see those custom cases but your link does not work. It looks like this: you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons. Is there something top secret about a case. Tried link for case at link for electronic crap. Same message. WTF
The same thing happens to me . . . permissions error
Seems like I need a couple more posts to access it, thx

Steve's cases look much better than the Case Crown cases. I got one of the CC cases and it stopped "fitting" after a few weeks. Opening and folding the front back behind the tablet caused the bands to stop gripping the tablet and I just stopped using it overall.
I'd highly recommend looking at Steve's store: http://electroniccrap.com/store/ind...cription=1&keyword=viewsonic+g+tablet&x=0&y=0
I'd have gotten one of his, but he was out of stock so I ordered one of the cases with the keyboard built in (came out to be $35). I have to go pick it up at the post office, as it was delivered via registered mail and has to be signed for.
It's a great case but still not as good as a custom case

I was one of the early adopters of the CaseCrown case for the Kindle DX for my gTab. It looks pretty classy even though it's not real leather. Good quality construction. Some people were reporting that the elastic tabs at the top were getting lose with time but I've used mine for over three months and didn't notice that on mine. I have to say thought I didn't leave my gTab in the CaseCrown case when I was using it but only really had it in the case for transporting it from home to the office or some other away from home locale. The one thing I will report that is a slight negative about the CaseCrown is that after three months of use I did notice the side of the case that is up against the back of the gTab was getting slightly bent and the felt lining was beginning to bubble up a bit. Even with that slight issue this case I would highly recommend it. If you can part with the cash I would strongly direct you into the direction of one of the custom cases as those are more tailored for out gTabs.
I hope you enjoy your gTab as much as I do mine. I've basically replaced the need to lug around my really heavy beast of a work laptop and now do my off site work from my gTab accessing my laptop remotely via LogMeIn Ignition.
Since I've purchased my CLIP from it2steve I have put away my CaseCrown case. I have no use for it now so if you're interested I'll be happy to unload it on you for next to nothing. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I hope for your sake you didn't get the one that I had before I unloaded it on eBay. It does work but that's where the positive ended for me with that case. The case really looked CHEAP and I was embarrased to take it out in front of other people at work or at a client's site. Also, the keys are hard plastic (not silicone) so I was afraid it would rub against the gTab's screen and do damage since the case also didn't hold the gTab snug but rather let it slide around in there.
This case may be good for students but really is not suitable for a professional environment. It will definitely give the Apple fans something else to snicker at if you work around them.

Just picked it up from the Post Office today, works great but they sent me one with the wrong clip locations, even though I specified Viewsonic Get Tablet as they instructed.
I am going to fix it on my own as others have done because it took 3 weeks to get it.
Overall I'm very happy with it for the price of $35 total.

clip case not perfect :-(

I accidently left my tablet on my hood and did not see it until it was too late i was going about 15 mph the case worked great until after the first impact and then the tablet jumped out of its case amazing ly it is still running but the touchscreen is destroyed. guess i will be buying a new tablet.

Sorry to hear about your gTab; I'm sure an angel lost it's wings somewhere.
With that said, how can you blame the case for your lack of care? I don't know of any case that would have protected your screen for sure that doesn't cost about as much as the tablet itself. I just felt I had to chime in as I freaking LOVE the CLIP case.

Only had it for a day but I agree - how can you blame the case?
I think what he is saying is that "a better" case might not have allowed the tablet to come out of it and may very well have saved the tablet. The full leather type cases that surround the entire tablet and have the flap cover might have prevented the impact damage.
However, when you bought the clip case it should have been obvious that it wasn't a full surround type portfolio case. I am still waiting for mine to arrive but I know that any impact can knock the tablet out of the case. It's just a nice thin case.
15 mph is a pretty fast for it to go flying off. Did it go flying forward when you hit the brake or slide off the side and onto the floor at that speed.
At least it's still $299 at tiger direct.

Just something to search on your end;
Did you purchase your tablet with a credit card?
Does it has an insurance plan coevering your purchases for the first 90 days?
I have this with my Credit card and in your case I would be covered.
Hoping for you that it applies.

I think you can buy a new touch screen. I know there is a guy have it.
I'm honestly surprised whenever one of my cases protects my device from a scratch, so when I see a thread about someone who's upset that their device wasn't protect from falling off a moving car, I'm a bit bewildered.
I think you should just buy a car big enough to carry the g-tablet INSIDE.
I wonder what would happen if you put it in a dock and hooked up a tv, keyboard and mouse... (just thinking lemonade)

blurex case review with a ton of pix

I ordered this case last week and so far I am really loving it. First things first, I really like the build quality. The case gives you alot of options with different viewing angles which is nice. It has leather on the outside and felt on the inside. All ports are accessible and you can even plug into the keyboard dock without having to remove from the case (huge bonus for me). I don't have anything to compare to but it seems very slim. I have never been a case guy for my phones but with a tablet I don't think it matters as much. Overall I am very glad I bought it. For the price, $25, the quality is second to none. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Link to sale site below.
www.amazon.com/BLUREX-Leather-folio-Multi-Angle-Transformer/dp/B005ESY8VA
Edit: i do want to add that I just noticed the speakers look like they might be covered in the pix but when you take off the bumper guard you can see they are not covered at all. If anyone cares.....
Case looks nice. I just brought the rotating one but this looks really good.

I bought the rotating one too and hate it
The popper is a stupid idea, impossible to remove and attach with the TF insde without almost cracking the screen from the back
Should have been Velcro I think, I might replace it
Also the TF doesnt sit straight inside it, so the camera is partially covered by the back of the case

I don't know. Very sturdy so it SEEMS like metal. It's covered in leather so hard to tell.
I have the blurex case same as OP and love it. I've had several different tablets and tried most all the versions of cases, and this Blurex is the best I have ever had. It is extremely functional also looks really classy.
I ordered the Blurex case after reading your review and I just got it in the mail today. Its really nice, the fit is perfect with no slipping or sliding. The only thing I dont like is that the bottom is quite tight so its kind of awkward to put into the stand mode. Im sure itll break in though with use.

Yeah its gets a little more loose. But to be honest I like having it somewhat hard to get out. I just have to add, it passed to toddler test this weekend with flying colors
I bought this from Amazon after reading this review.

Picked up this case from Amazon UK to replace a previous case, love it, really well made, solid professional finish and really light.
I think the best part is having 100% of the screen area visable

anybody have a pic with the case on and docked?
Here u go dude. U obviously cannot close the case while docked but everything else is cool.
just ordered one thanks to this review for bringing it to my attention. Hope I like it. Was really hoping for something like the speck candy case for the ipad. Can't such a beast so got this guy. Thks
I love this case.
Ordered and received this case because of this review. I love it. When it is closed, it feels very durable, and I don't worry about breaking the transformer. When opened, the different viewing angles are perfect.
Thanks for posting this review and steering me towards this case!

Thanks for the update, looking forward to their release.
Wow, this is pretty slick looking. I might pick one up in Feb. Until then I am just going to use a neoprene case to carry it around like a laptop and use it naked when I take it out.
I thought I saw in another thread someone say there is very little clearance between the keyboard and the screen when it is closed. I wonder how a case like this will work if that's true.
You need to un-dock the keyboard.
wwwamazoncom /MiniSuit-ASUS-Transformer-Keyboard-Portfolio/dp/B006ULQPTI/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_t_3
Its available for pre-order on amazon. add the periods and delete the space after .com
But it will not be able to close properly with that Tuff-lov thing...?
There's leather on top of the keyboard dock and alson on the front of the tablet.. So thats 2 x leather layer when trying to close the thing.. it cannot be healthy for the dock hinge....
I think I've seen the Case Logic case asked about or maybe even shown somewhere else but I can't find it (I've searched, no luck). SO I'm hoping this might be a good place to post pics, at least it's on topic (except it's not leather).
I've seen this online but I stumble across at Walmart so had to check it out knowing I could easily return it. I is a semi-hard sided case that will hold the tablet and dock when they are connected (or if they are not, just be careful where the hinge is on the dock when you close the case if its' not connected).
I like it. It's growing on me. It offers a lot of versatility. At first I thought wth am I going to do with the dock when I only want to use the tablet (where am I going to store it or put it if I'm traveling or at a friends, etc) but quickly found it kinda just stashes away on it own within the case. Problem solved!
My opinions, fwiw:
Pros -
*cost $25
*durable, rugged
*really good fit
* soft lining, extra padding behind the tablet
*presents well ( easily walk into any meeting or class room with this)
*while it's not technically a portfolio, there is room for some note paper and my stylus fit in there in a little spot on top and the mettle never hit any of the metal on the tablet or dock
*neoprene cover does just *barely* wraps around it if I want added cushion
*versatile viewing angles
*can keep dock in the case detached from tablet and still use tablet with case
*you can leave the top straps on and attached to the top corners of the tablet when you close the case - it's not putting any pressure on the dock hinge at all, it adds a little more cushion between the two units, plus it fills up the space within the case a little more
Cons -
*the strap on the top left corner WILL hit the volume rocker.
*takes a bit of fooling around with the middle velcro part to see how and where it will work with the hinge, but it's worth the little extra time so it doesn't get messed up later
*be careful if you've detached the dock and try to close the case with the units separated - the hinge needs to be in the right place or we might risk breaking it or scratch the glass - maybe not but I wouldn't want to force it or risk it.
*it adds significant overall weight. I don't have a scale that will measure it , but it is heavier. That being said, I may not to drop it from my 3rd story balcony, but I feel pretty safe with it withstanding most common impacts and injuries. If I took the time to add another thin cushion later I am fairly certain it would withstand any fall from counter or waist height
whats the name of the case logic case?
It's this one I think (or very very similar):
http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-ETC-110-10-Inch-Tablet/dp/B004XANKWI
I got it at Walmart for $25.
The biggest pro to this one is that it will securely hold both tablet and dock. I'm glad I have it, I wont be returning it, it will serve it's purpose when I need a case like this. At home, I'm very careful. Now I know I can take both with me and they will have a safe home, too

FWIW
I have the Transformer Prime with keyboard, and just got the mini suit case. I like it, for the most part. The leather feel is much nicer than the other brands I've seen. And it's really cool how it covers both the Prime and the dock, yet will come apart (with a couple of snaps) when you don't want to bring the dock along. The only thing that bugs me is the sloppiness of the cover without the dock. It's like a book with a very old, very loose, sloppy binding. I'm not sure I like that, and may decide to pick up one of the cheaper covers to use when I'm not planning to have the dock with me.
I have a question too, about the dock. Is there a forward delete key? Or a hot key that works to delete forward instead of backspacing? That missing function has bugged me since I first discovered Android! Just sayin'...

A lot of these cases would be fine if they weren't fake leather. If for instance they were lightly texture vinyl instead or silicon. Fake leather electronics cases always feel so 1990 to me.
