Hey guys! I'm a noob, I aknowledge it and I apologize for it.
I've been trying to open the bootloader on my brand new Ray by following the official Sony Ericsson guide found on their website. The problem is that I'm stuck with this step:
# Open a command window and go to the tools folder within the Android SDK folder.
# Enter fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version, and verify that you get a response back (for example "0.3"). This means your phone is connected properly.
The only answer that I get from command promt is: 'fastboot.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
This leads me to thinking that there's not fastboot in the SDK-folder. Why is this? I've followed the guide to the letter, and I've checked several times that I actually did follow it to the letter. Any help guys? Please?
Found the solution after hours and hours of fighting, still not through with all the problems though.
Try flashtool, inside x10 flasher folder you will find the required fastboot and adb.exe and dll for them. Try from there.

Yes, I have read every single thread about this issue and I have tried all steps including downloading new drivers, removing old USB drivers, ...
Yesterday I unlocked my Bootloader using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064793
Everything went fine and when I boot up my tab I can see the unlocked lock.
According to the thread the next step was following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079781 (How to get root on 101.v)
I booted my tablet by holding down the Power Button and the Volume Down button. I selected the USB icon and in the left corner I see
"Fastboot USB download protocol"
Bootloader version: P7100BUKC8
Baseband version: P7100BUKDF
Lock state: unlocked
Everything goes well up to the step where I have to type adb push skitzandroid-10-1v-root.zip /sdcard/ in the Command line. When I type this, I get a message: "Error: device not found"
In the aformentioned thread someone else has a similar problem. One person asked if he was still in fastboot? Aren't you supposed to be in fastboot to root your device? He also asks if Clockworkmode is loaded. Doesn't this step come after rooting your device?
When I just open command and type fastboot devices I get a message saying: 'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. When I type "cd "C:\android-sdk-windows\tools"" and then "fastboot devices', it does work and I get a message saying: [serial number] fastboot. Does the fastboot devices command only work if you have a specific folder selected?
This is all so confusing
Thanks for any help
Thanks for the help
I'm having troubles with unlocking the bootloader from my xperia U. I am following the steps from this site unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions , and everything goes very well until step 13. I am not asked to install the driver they mention in that step and I haven't found a solution to install it.
I tried to avoid that step and to go straight into command window and entering the commands ( like fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version). I don't get a response but an error that states the .exe file couldn't be recognized.
I have flastool installed, and I have installed all the drivers from it. I also tried to use the 'blu' option, but then I get the message "your phone can not be officially unlocked" . I have been searching for 5 days now, and I don't know what to do..
Any kind of help is welcome!
Hello-
I am trying to use the motorola bootloader unlock app (motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-b[/url]). I am stuck on the following directions:
TO GET YOUR DEVICE ID
Put your device in fastboot mode.
On your computer, open a command prompt or Terminal session.
Go to the Directory where you installed the Android SDK tools, and type:
$ fastboot oem get_unlock_data
Admittedly, I do not know how to use SDK tools. When I use a command prompt and navigate to the tools folder and enter the command string I get an error. If someone could guide me in the right direction to what I am doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated.
PS- I did a search and found nothing but the petition threads. And if this is in the wrong forum please move or delete.
Thanks Jason
Me tooo don't know it
I recently purchased an Xperia Z2 D6503 from Amazon (International version); and when trying to unlock the bootloader I ran into this issue.
I followed all steps until the part where it requires that I go to device manager> right click on s1 fastboot> update drivers> and select newest google usb drivers with the modified sony file in there. However, when I try that instead of showing a progress bar and telling me it is now an ADB boot loader interface it simply says it was unable to install drivers.
I tried different folders, different drivers, and nothing works. I tried to skip to the step of opening command prompt and typing fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version, however the message [waiting on device] appears and nothing ever happens... I waited 10 minutes and nothing happened.
I didn't try the last step of typing fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY, so does anyone know what to do here?
PS: I did have a Nexus 5 before this, and unlocking the bootloader there was similar but went smooth and got it first try... not here.
Like many of you, my S6000F was easily rooted; but, isn't cooperating with my attempts to unlock it.
I have been following the directions posted at Lenovo Ideatab S6000 Unlock Bootloader Tutorial (not allowed to post a link on xda); but, have hit a brick wall when trying to execute the command line: fastboot-windows oem unlock
I get one of two error messages:
1) If I am at the command line, and the tablet is in normal Android, it will say: Waiting on device
2) If I have the tablet in fastboot mode, it will say: fastboot is not recognized as an external or internal command
I have ensured that
ADT was fully installed and configured
the correct adb windows and adb drivers were installed (I have tried the Google drivers provided with the guide I lined to above; and, also tried the Universal Naked Drivers)
adb can 'see' the tablet, as can Windows (in device manager with the tablet in normal and fastboot modes)
I use an administrative command prompt window
adb, fastboot and sdk are all in the same folder; and, that I open an administrative command prompt in that same folder
I have honestly spent hours trying to find relevent info via Google and Bing; and, then researching in the forums that show up in the searches. All the steps that I bulleted above are the results of what I have found, piecemeal; but, I havn't been able to find one, complete lucid guide to this issue. Any solid direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, in advance!
