"Eļ¼Error in /sdcard/update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS2-signed.zip

this is what i saw after flashed rom, can anyone help me?
The zip file got corrupted in the download or when you transferred it from your computer to your phone (more likely the latter). You need to redownload the file and put it on your phone again. Make sure you don't disconnect your phone until you are 100% all the files have transferred.

thanks and i'm trying to "redownload"
but i have another question, i wiped data and cache in the cwm recovery, however when i flash "I9100ZSKI3_I9100OZSKI3_I9100XXKI3_HOME_ROOT" and go to the home screen, the things i've downloaded are still here!! i've tried twice ( i mean "wipe data and cache" and the apps are still here!!!
it means now it seems the problem is "can't wipe data" !
can anybody help me?
What on earth is "I9100ZSKI3_I9100OZSKI3_I9100XXKI3_HOME_ROOT"?
What I think you're asking is why after flashing doing a data wipe (factory reset) and flashing a ROM you still have apps etc? The ROM installs things onto your phone that are deleted when you data wipe. Data wipe will remove everything that a ROM cannot install for you (random apps form the appstore you use, text messages, contacts etc.).

I DID some cache wipe and dalvik cache wipe and accidentaly included data wipe too..the phone rebooted and ask for goole etc etc to be filled up but then the phone died and when i tried to reboot it. I get stuck at CM7 boot screen. I tried recovery pressing power-volume down-menu all at onece and when i try to restore back up it says E: Couldn't open directory/sdcard/nandroid/ please help me please i dont know what to do
Did you move the nand backup elsewhere on your card or to your computer? Toggle USB storage and copy the nand backup back to the sdcard (and to the same folder).
no.backup was not moved ever since i created it using nand backup.and upon checking..it is still there
my guess is that the rom has become corrupt (somehow), so this is what i would do:
1. wipe everything again (as if you were going to do a fresh install of new rom)
2. flash cm7
3. once everything has booted properly, reboot into recovery and try to restore the backup
Im gonna try that one out sweet...anymore suggestions or solutions or is there anyone out there who knows exactly what to do?
Hoping your suggestion would solve this problem...Rebooting now after re-installing cm7......
Re-installed CM7 and phone went On..Tried to restore backup but to no avail....anyone who can suggest what to do?
did you rename the folder of your backup? i know that the name cannot have "invalid" characters, such as asterisks and spaces.
also try reflashing your recovery and try again.
I think I know what went wrong. Yesterday I used Amon Ra to wipe cache and dalvik cache and battery stats coz I've seen somewehere here in this forum that CWM recovery doest completely wipes caches so I used it but I forgot to return to CWM. I think that causes the problem "couldnt open file directory". Upon reinstalling CM7 rom, I flashed CWM and tried to restore backup and it did.
Nope..I never did anything with the backup...reflashing recovery solves the problem
so everything is now up and running? glad to hear that
yeah..up and running thanks
I'm running rooted ICS on my SGS2, have had no problem with it and have been running it for a while without any further modifications, however last night the battery went completely flat on me which hasn't happened before and after fully charging the phone, when I turn it back on it goes into a crash loop - That is no applications will start, and the screen is non responsive, then it closes TWLauncher and restarts the on screen apps again. For a few seconds the screen is responsive but whichever app I click on just says it has crashed. I can't even get it to display the Power off/reboot menu. After several cycles of this the phone completely resets.
I've removed the battery and attempted to get it into CWM but the screen just goes black when it should show CWM and then restarts after a few seconds.
Can someone please help me as I can't use my phone
I've managed to get into CWM - Backed up and then cleared cache & dalvik cache.
It went through it's "Android is upgrading" process and came up looking hopeful (Loaded a few extra bits) but then reset and is doing the exact same thing again
Any further ideas?
Factory wipe, if that fails, flash your stock ROM from odin assuming you can get onto download mode?

I was hoping that would be a plan F. I wanted to try plans B>E first if possible.
Edit: Is it possible to backup with CWM the "SD Card" section as I have no other way of backing up it's contents and would like to keep them (Photo's etc.).

wipe data, cache and dalvik cache and reboot. wiping data will not delete contents of ur sdcard.if that doesn't help copy rom files into external card and flash rom from external card by full wipe.
If your CWM recovery support usb mass storage mode, copy ur rom flashable zip into /sdcard, wipe data, wipe cache, then install zip. You should at least able to boot successfully, though all your contact, sms, apps will be gone.
Hi guys,
As the title said, Galaxy Player 5.0 Wifi got soft-bricked during the flash process. Now, it stucks at the loading screen with the samsung text only. I can still get to the Recevery and Downloading mode but up till now I have tried flash many stock ROM, factory reset without hope. I believe that it's the software conflicting problem or problem with the bootloader
Please help me with this, my friend ask me to flash it to Cyanogen Mod 9 and I bricked his player. That's really bad for both of us. Before any thingies, it run on Froyo and on the back cover, it said YP-G70CW/ Made in CHina
Please help me with this soon ( any suggestion is appreciated
Hello my friend!I will say again:
ALWAYS WHATEVER IS HAPPENING,BEFORE FLASHING A NEW ROM YOU MUST BACKUP THE CURRENT SYSTEM FROM CWM!!!
If you have this, you may go to back-up and restore in CWM,restore and vouala you have again your current rom.
If you have not made a system Back-Up (also Nandroid backup) you will have to download a new rom, send it to your device in downloading mode and then install this.
I can suggest you the ROM CM9 that I use because its just awesome.Just a little prob with the preloaded microSD card.
What device do you have?INTL or USA?
Actually, I'm having the .zip file of CM9 from this topic as well : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679957
However, even though I can connect my phone to the computer, use ODIN to root it and flash the .zip file after factory reset, etc. , the situation is still the same :-< It stay stuck at the samsung logo like forever
I believe I'm using an Intl one because it has hot physical home button. However, the back cover read: YP-G70CW Made in China. Therefore, I don't know which ROM should I flash??
do you follow ALL the instructions from this thread?

Wipe data/factory reset

To wipe dalvic cache go to advanced section in CWM

yes, i meant CWM, mistyped it..
I did them all too. However, for the Dalivik cache, it does not show up text at all, just a little flash nothing changes. What seems to be wrong here is that every time I finish an action, it show up 4 line of errors like: can't mount to cache/..../recovery.log. Is that the problem??
Yes thats the problem. You may have locked the internal SD...Try formatting you external SD and then pass your zip again, this may fix the problem
If system can't mount it's files, there is no way it will load.
I took the external SD card out, formatted it and flashed the CM9 again. No luck
The four lines of error read like below, they keep appearing every time I do something:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

Those errors are common within using CWM for the Galaxy Player 5. If you rebooted the device, it will most likely go away. There is no need for concern.
I was running AOKP 4.3 and downloaded the latest 10/30 update. I flashed in CWM recovery and everything took as normal. I wiped cache and dalvik and then rebooted. Apps updated as normal and lockscreen presented. I unlocked and immediately received two force closes (timely & swype) if I click them or not, if I unlock or not, the phone will crash and reboot every 6 or so seconds. Luckily, if I'm quick, I can reboot into recovery. I am in CWM but my external SD card won't mount so I can't load anything onto it and attempt a new flash and the only rom file on my internal SD is the one that got me in trouble here. I've gone back into recovery and attempted to wipe data/factory reset/etc. and nothing changes. Internal storage won't mount when I'm connected to my computer with a cable.
I don't mind losing everything and starting from scratch. I've tried to seek out my own info but there is SOO many threads and videos and I don't know where to start. Can someone please tell me the most efficient way to get back to a clean start? I was on JellyBeans from 1-22 and looking back that was probably more my speed. I shouldn't have tried to switch to 4.3 at all. I was able to run AOKP for about two months without issue but I seem to be out of my element here.
Can anyone smarter than me please take pity on me here? Sorry to waste your time as well.
Try just wiping the system, reflash rom and gapps. I think this keeps your apps in tact, if just not just use tb and restore. Otherwise full wipe sounds necessary, but not horrible. Just restore everything with tb
Hi,
I'm new around, hope this is the right forum...
I have a galaxy s1 (i1900) which I flashed with a new ROM (2.3.6) in the past and then installed 4.2.2 from a zip, and it worked fine for a few months.
Having the same ROM file I used before, I tried to get it back to 2.3.6, as the 4.2.2 didn't work quite well, causing some problems when trying to make phone calls / receive calls.
After flashing the 2.3.6 again, the phone kept rebooting itself. Having read a few different guides online I tried all options - wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache... then did some dramatic things like formatting /system, /cache /sdcard... I know it's not a very smart things to do when you don't know what you're doing, but I guess I felt I have nothing to lose at this point...
I also tried to reinstall 4.2.2 again and it only rebooted to the recovery mode whenever turning it on.
When mounting to USB I see no files in the device at all, only a folder called 'clockworkmod' with file called '.recovery_version' inside, and 2 empty folders named 'external_sd' and 'LOST.DIR'. It also shows it has 13.2GB free out of 13.2GB, which is weird, because the os doesn't occupy any of the capacity.
How do I save this poor device?
Many thanks in advance for your kind help!
