Seems when you register your google account it automatically pulls pictures from your Google + Account and Picasa into your Gallery..
I do not want that, eats up storage space and I rather not have those pictures on there
So far the only solution I have found to this is to delete my Gmail account off the tablet which I dont want to do..
Any other sugestions to delete this pictures or just get rid of them
Cant delete already tried that, once synced up they are there for good it seems
Have you tried going into Settings> Accounts, selected your Google account and unchecked Picasa?

When the account is setup, you can click on the account and it will give you all the Google services you can sync. You are able to uncheck Picasa.

Call me an idiot...but I thought Google sync was obsolete with android, considering most of the devices are powered by Google! ....am I wrong....be nice !!
I will reiterate - Titanium Backup works great for restoring, in my case programs with data like Timeriffic.

You are wrong. Google sync is an android feature. It's one of the benefits to logging in with your gmail account when you setup a new ROM.

I've never been able to get Titanium Backup to backup and restore contacts...
You could just export your contacts to your SD card then import them back after you flash a new ROM. While in people, hit menu then export.

It will delete the account with which every Google related apps are linked such as market, Gmail, contacts etc.. Once you delete your account you will not be able to access the market, your mails, g+, your contacts and calendar will not sync with Google servers etc etc..

You cannot delete the main Google account from settings.
To delete it you would need to be rooted. Use root explorer or similar and navigate to data/system and delete accounts.db.
Just note that it will delete all accounts on the phone - Google, email, skpye etc. Comes in handy if your selling to a friend and don't want to wipe everything.

Hi, I got a question. I want to disable Google contact sync, but I want to keep Google calender sync. On my Desire z I was simply able to uncheck calender. With my S3 I only seem to be able to deactivate Google at once.
Is there a way for me to deactivate contact sync?

I have two different gmail accounts. One of them (not my main one) syncs contacts fine by the main account doesn't sync them at all. I keep getting an error, and have had the error since I bought the phone. Anyone know whats up?
Also, I can add any team I want to google now except the Lakers. Everytime I add them, they show up in the list of teams, then I close the page, come back to it, and the team is gone. Anyone know why?
Thanks!
Couldn't say I've experienced this. As far as the Google account that won't sync, have you changed the password and forget to update it on ur phone?
As far as Google now, try clearing cache and date. Start from scratch and see if that helps. Sorry I don't have any solution that would just solve ur problems. Best thing till someone comes out with a sure solution is trouble shoot. Let us know what happens!

Also, do u use facebook and sync ur contacts? I've heard that can be causing issues. I recommend first removing facebook, the export ur contacts to external storage, going into it apps and clearing data under contact storage then importing all ur contacts. I highly recommend removing facebook before anything else. If its not facebook but u have other applications that sync contacts, uncheck contact sync and proceed with clearing contact storage, then import contacts and resync. Try that out and let us know

Ok. Then skip those steps about other apps that sync and try the export and clearing data.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I'm afraid of doing this because I have contacts in my phone that are new that aren't synced yet. Will this get rid of them?
That's why u export ur contacts first
Go into ur contact list and tap menu. Then export, when it asks u where, send it to sd card/external memory. Unsync ur Google accounts from contacts so it doesn't effect it and then clear it. You'll have a back up on ur other Google account and have a vcf file in ur device storage

i just did that and its still not syncing the contacts. Similarly, its not syncing the internet.

I don't want my email synced until I open the email app. This seems like it should be easy to do since there is an option to disable it under settings>email>accounts. The problem is that even though it is disabled, the emails are still syncing. When I open the email app and check the settings there sync is still checked and greyed so I can't uncheck it
So noboby else has this problem or a solution?
Try disabling it through settings. So go settings, accounts, your email account and uncheck sync email.

Okay, maybe you were talking about the same thing. It sounds like you meant the email app settings, I was talking about the main account settings. That's an odd one. I disable sync on my Gmail all the time, what app are we talking about

If you are rooted, try Greenify. If your email app is a system app, you must convert it to a user app in order for Greenify to work.

MailDroid allows this. I have it set to close the connection when I exit and then check email at least every three hours, or when I log in.
