when i try to connect the prime with my tv nothing happens. 1st thought was the cable is damaged but when i try to get HDMI informations with the app "realHDMI" the app doesn't find a HDMI Port at all...
Is there a way to find out if my HDMI port is working? Or another app which shows me if there is a active HDMI port? maybe hdmi drivers?
thanks a lot!
RealHDMI is droidx only...so I'm not sure how it would behave, but I wouldn't trust it.

Just like the post says my hdmi works sometimes and most of the time it doesn't. I had it working last night watching nerflix and it just stopped, same thing happened today. I am running a Zone23 Rom and bcblend 02 kernel. The mhl adapter I am using is from T-Mobile. Does this happen to anyone else, is the a solution I can try? I just ordered the htc adapter to try that and I have already switched hdmi cars to see if that was it and it wasn't. Any help I would appreciate.

did you connect the power cable as well?
Yes, I know I didn't mention it but yrs the power cable is attached and working, I guess it was my fault for not clarifying it better, it use to work whenever I plugged it in not it is hit in miss with a mostly miss.

sounds like a loose connection. probablly a faulty hml adaptor.
Also, sometimes when it kind of was acting like it wanted to work it would cut on cut off like someone was flicking a light switch on and off.

Well I ordered a HTC mhl adapter and the same thing happen. So I ended up restoring a rooted stock rom, re-applying all my apps, backing up my new setting, wipeing and re-installing my Zone 2.3.4 ROM and re-applying my new setting and it still didn't work.....LOL
But it now works on my 55 inch vizio but not my 46 inch Sony in my bedroom where I would use it the most.
I don't know what the problem is with the Sony because it use to work flawlessly but now it doesn't even read it. I know its the tv because I have swapped everything else, hdmi cable, charger, and mhl adapter. If anyone knows what may have caused my tv to stop reading my mhl adapters please let me know?

Your TV port probably failed. I know hdmi ports look robust like a usb port but they really aren't.
Well my tv has 5 ports and none of them are working with the mhl adapter but the still work with my DVD player though.

Old thread but I may be able to help others.
I have a generic HML adapter from ebay and I found that you need to connect things in the correct order to make it work reliably. I had the best results following these steps.
1. Connect power to the adapter
2. Connect the adapter to the phone
3. Connect the HDMI cable to the adapter
With the stock rom I found a reboot of the phone between step 2 and 3 sometimes helped but generally it was not needed. With the leedroid rom I using now I've never needed to reboot.
Unfortunately my 52" Samsung LCD (2008) has no audio but my 24" Samsung LED (2011) works perfectly every time. I got audio to work 2x on the 52" but I can't for the life of me figure out how.
Just to further update....
I found a firmware update for my 52" Samsung TV on their website. After applying the update I found the HDMI to slightly more reliable with my audio issues but it still did not correct it 100%. I have audio issues 1 out of 4 times now so by my best guess the TV has to comply with the newer HDMI specs in order to operate with the MHL adapters.
Hopefully this helps someone out there.
Appreciate the tip, so how does one update their tv

Any way to use a mini (is it micro?) USB to HDMI cable or converter to share this player's screen to a tv?

no this thing has no video output.
BUT i almost bet there is a physical output on the board but no hdmi has been soldered to it.
Hmm, oh well, thanks for the reply. I still plan on getting this even without video output but I was just curious. Some devices have video drivers that can connect to the mini USB on board, if I remember correctly. Thanks, when I get back home, I'll "thank" you.

But the Korean version 5.0 has video output, correct??
I heard there will be a new micro USB to HDMI cable release in later this year. But now still under development.
There may actually be composite TV out via the 3.5mm port. We haven't got anyone with the right cable to test though...

I've confirmed that there is no MHL (HDMI) support. Dunno about analog yet.

RE:
Could it be temperature? I have read in other threads that the kernel of this device disable some features when it's temperature is getting too hot (like brightness for example).
I'm not sure about Wi-Fi, but I lose cell service.

The most common issue people have is not supplying sufficient power to the adapter. You need to provide external power to the adapter itself. With the box type, there's generally a microusb port on the side for your phone's wall charger. Additionally, some people report the order of connection matters. Try different permutations of connecting adapter power, hdmi to TV, and the phone connection. Finally, some Samsung MHL adapters use a slightly different microusb connector. I'm not sure that even fits in other phones.
Some newer TV's have HDMI ports designated MHL that work with regular microusb to hdmi cables, no external power supply needed, because the port provides 500ma. Check the back of your TV, you might get lucky. It is usually the last HDMI port and will be labeled MHL.

Did you plug anything into the OTG adapter, eg. USB stick?
I tried usb stick, keyboard, mouse... but doesn't work.
See if USB Host Diagnostics by Chainfire gives any clues. Chainfire says that if you plug in a memory stick with an led and it fails to light then 99% sure its a faulty cable
Here's a screenshot. So.. it says the usb function works on tablet but the adapter is a..... ?

This may sound stupid, but in what order do you insert the devices into the tablet? From what I understand, for OTG to work you need to first insert your usb device into the adapter, and then that into the tablet. That's the way it works for me also on my s2.
I cant find any info on this.
I tried the Samsung MHL adaptor that a friend used with his SIII, no luck
After googling forever. I cant find if I need a 5pin adapter or just a normal microusb-hdmi, or a microhdmi to hdmi.
Any help would be great.

I don't think the Torque has an HDMI port on it (at least as far as I know, I'm just going off of what PhoneArena said), so you would probably need a MicroUSB to HDMI if anything.
