Got my prime from bb its a beast :) - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Glad to report I got my prime! I was a little worried when I noticed some pretty bad scratches and dents on the outside of the box but turns out there's Little or no problems, there may be a minor wifi problem but nothing to serious. No dead pixels no screen bleeds as far as I can tell and gps works fine Don't listen to everyone who bags on this device, runs smoother than every other android tab. Super light and thin she's a beauty. Only problem that I have with it is they shouldve put two speakers on it not one but the one that's on there is louder than the two speakers on the tf101 combined! And nice bass, great quality

glad you like it your one of the few i am too im not going to sit here and complain about the device when its a beast some people just like to pick at issues!
but if you think its loud download volume+ use the settings good quality volume +7 bass +5 and then you will hear some serious speaker volume

Mine shipped today. I am supposed to get it by 1.9.12, I hope I have no issues with it.

stereo bluetooth headphones

Alright so I had a pair of motorola s9s for about 3 weeks before sweating on them at the gym broke them.
Does anyone know of any decent bluetooth headphones that are reliable (battery doesn'd die after a month etc. etc.) that work well with the G1?
I have the first generation Motorola bluetooth stereo headphones, the HT820. I originally purchased them back in 2007 to use with my t-mobile MDA (HTC Wizard), and they worked well then and they continue to work now. They are much bigger than anything Motorola has out now, but they do work. I currently have Cyanogen's ROM on my G1 and they did work with the original cupcake ROM from T-Mobile. These headphones also have a built in mic so you can take phone calls.
Hope this helps.
I recently purchased the Samsung SBH500 headphones. I have only had them for a few weeks so I cannot tell you long term reliability but I have really enjoyed using them. I have taken them on a run a few times and have had no trouble yet. I have read a few reviews of people complaining that they are unconfortable and ears get hot when working out with them. I have not experienced either. I have found these more comfortable than other around-the-neck sets. The ear padding is a little thick but it sort of muffles the ambient noise. I have found the audio quality for music and calls both outstanding. I would recommend these if you were looking for over the ear headphones.
You should try contacting Motorola about your s9s. When researching BT headphones, I seem to remember reading that Motorola knows that this is an issue. Perhaps they will swap these out for you. Good Luck!
S9-HD
I thought the S9's are supposed to be sweat resistant. I have a S9-HD and they seem to be holding up fine. I've been using them on runs and bike rides for a couple months now. I do admit though that not much sweat gets to them cuz most of my sweat evaporates as I run. When I stop moving, I start pouring sweat, which is when the headphones get hit the hardest. They're still working great.
I haven't tried the jaybird bluetooth headphones. They're supposedly water and sweat resistant. They sound like they're the bomb. I'm tempted to get a set. Here's a link for more info:

Hey guys thanks for all the replies!
I actually just ordered a pair of samsung sbh170's (if i remember correctly) they didn't have to many complaints besides being to small.
If they don't work i will definetly be checking out the sbh500's they look really nice, and i might get a pair for non gym use too. ( I never knew internet radio at work could be so addictive.)
I checked out the jaybirds before i bought the samsungs that should be coming in a couple days. They had mixed reviews on amazon, just like the s9's, and cost around $100-$120 so i think i'm gonna keep my distance from those, I'm a college student lol.
As for the s9's I didn't have the HD's, I had the older versions, which were apparently less sweat resistant than the new ones. I took them appart and it looks like the main circuit board got covered in sweat (there is discoloration).
I had initially thought it was the battery, but that would be hard to replace. The battery in them is a no name most likely chinese peice of crap, if anyone else is having a problem with the battery you may be able to retrofit a rechargable AAA batery in ( i played around with a voltmeter and the old battery appeared to be 1.5V's) but that would take a little bit of time and patients, I only paid 30 bucks for them, and used them pretty consistently for a month (pretty much every day at the gym too.)
If I had paid $100 at best buy then I would be more upset. I really liked the form factor on them and they were really nice to use at the gym, which is what upset me most about them breaking, its hard going back to wired headphones lol
I've broken two sets, 1 LG and the other I think was a Jabra set. They had both broken around the earpiece in almost the same place because of the plastic they used. While I didnt have any other issues with them, they only lasted about 3 or 4 weeks each.
I went with the s9's for the firm form also... I just made sure to wipe my head and the headset every so often and completely take them off when im cooling down. I will be implementing some fancy vinyl aka electrical tape on them soon to help from getting sepage into the control panels.
The sbh170's look good cause they are more flexible but the 500's look to be almost the same design of the two sets that I had. If I can find the LG set i'll snap a pic and show you what I mean.
i got the sony dr-bt101 headphones about a month ago and they work great. the only thing is they're a little big and over the ear not behind the neck..

oooh those look nice!
I use the HT850's mentioned earlier in this thread. they're a little big and (as someone else commented somewhere on xda) make me look princess leiah-ish but the sound good and work well w/ the G1.
For anyone wanting a cheap set I recommend the Insignia NS-BTHDP.

I got these almost a year ago and take them to the gym and snowboarding regularly so they have been dropped, smashed and covered in snow a lot. I picked mine up off of ebay with $10 winning bid (shipped). They aren't fancy but have survived well for being so cheap.
These are on their way to me. I'll let you all know what I think of them.

You guys would use those headphones while working out? Do they stay in place while jogging? Are they sweat resistant? Just from the looks of them, they are too bulky for me (at least while working out).

My s9's died yesterday... I mean DIED, they wont chrage no matter what
As much as I hate to go back to wired devices I really like the options the ones you picked up give. Small and simple with good support (body wide clip).
So please post when you can
I Have a question for you guys. I want a headset that I can listen to music with while wearing it on only one ear, so not headphones but a headset that has the A2DP and AVRCP. IF you guys know about one let me know because that way I can listen to music at work and look like im actually working hard.
http://www.jaybirdgear.com/bluetooth-stereo-headphones-features.php I have these but the audio goes in and out on my G1 and even worst on my laptop.
Get the Plantronics 855. The second earpiece is removable, and without it looks just like the HFP-only 815 but still plays at A2DP quality.

OK so they showed up today. I have them charging at work and will give them a go when I run tonight. I'll post results either tonight or tomorrow morning.
update: Well I can't get them to pair. They paired up fine with my nokia N95, but android is having trouble. If I could get it to let me enter the passcode 0000 manually, I am sure it would work. Any ideas?
update2: OK so I got them paired, finally, but they dont seem to be working. I got them connected but theres no sound coming through them. They do work well with my n95 however so that's even more frustrating. Sound quality is OK, but I am going to try and return them. Any questions before I do?
i sweat a whole lot and have yet to find any wireless that can stand up to the abuse. i bought the adapter from HTC that includes a mic and 3.5 adapter. 10 bucks from t mobile.
while it still has wires it hasnt fallen victim to the sweat. FML in Alabama during the summer.

motorola s9 sound quality

ive seen mixed reviews what do you guys think?
I bought one on ebay, possible fake, not quite sure. The item had amazing clarity in sound quality, however it kept breaking up over and over and didn't work in my pocket while walking.
Since then I've ordered the Jabra BT3030 and couldn't be happier with the item. It works flawlessly no matter where my Android is.
Mine should arrive in a day or two. I can then give comments on quality.
I really hope mine will work better than BamaNZ's.
thanks for replies i just hot a pair of s9-hds from a seller who sold 89 woth 100 percent positive feedback for about 40 bucks(he he look at me trying to be all american) i hope its not fake
bought a pair of real non-HD's and I would figure if you're not using them for any activity they are GREAT!!! sound good, fairly comfortable, easy to use... but as soon as you sweat in them... say GOODBYE!!! It goes downhill here from there.
I have the s-9 also and man they suck . Now I'm really not sure if its cause of the bluetooth
But when I walk with these things it skipps like a cd player. What I have to do is place the phone in my back pack so it doesn't bounce. Then and only the will I get good flow of audio.
Then they sound great. Call quality isn't that great either. I get a lot of static.

awww man but i figure ill cut out the skipping by putting my phone in my inside pocket which is closer to the headset
I have had the S9's for a while and I used them on the SE p990i, MDA, Laptop, and the G1. I must say as far as sound quality goes the s9's are really good, and thats about it. It works best with my laptop, if you plan on moving around (walking, running) etc then not recommended. On all the mobile devices it breaks up a lot especially when there are other cellular devices around you. I'm looking to replace mine with something that has the sound quality of the s9 or better and one that doesn't break up as much.
i received my s9-hds today and they sound awesome the only problems are they are uncomfortable at first and im not sure if i look like an idiot with them
The HDs blow the regular s9s out of the water. I bought a pair and they sounded much better. They are uncomfortable at first, but you get used to them.

Thanks! I glad y'all brought this subject up. I was about to replace my HT820 Moto headphones with the s9. I think I need some with a better range. Kinda scares me if you can't even get good reception with the cell in your pocket, lol. I guess I go with the Jabra then. My old moto 820 had great range and sound quality but are like 4 years old and are falling apart.
i find mine work fine if i pair them outdoors but if i was in your situation i wouldnt risk it either
I had mine for two years now ,, best bt/headphones ever ,, what I did with mine was, I took the cushions off of a cheap pair of headphones I had and placed them over the small buds of the s9 , now my s9 sounds like a bose system ...

thanks thats a great idea im going to try it with the ones that came with my g1
I picked up a set from newegg a year or two ago and like them alot
i work outside all day so sweat did kill the mic
but as use for a headset it works fine
I also had issues that seemed like the phone was a bit far away, but i think thats because of the sidekick i was using
I now use a Zune 120 and earbuds and use the S9s for my PC, I should try them on the G1 soon
the jabra BT303 looks nice, if i would have known about it before the S9 i would have went that way so i can use my own earbuds
however if you dont plan on sweating and like the big cushy style i just saw the motorola S805 on newegg for $25
you cant beat that, in fact for the price i may pick up a set
for the PC

I have the Motorola HT820 (I think thats the one). It was their original bluetooth headset. A little big and maybe even a bit ugly but the sound quality is great, although a bit low for my taste, but no skips and great for exercise since they go over and around the ears. They tend to bother after an hour of wearing them or so.
Plus you get over 10 hours of use per charge!
only problem I have is that you can't control the music (I.E. pause, play, next/previous track) with the hero rom or most of the developed roms, or atleast I haven't gotten it to work. Only with the stock rom will the functions work. Still, volume up and down works...

Does Lumia 920 have a design flaw?

I noticed the same thing on the iPhone. Both phones have their speakers on the bottom of the phone. What does this mean? When you hold the phone in landscape to play games and grip it in gaming grip, the base of your forefinger (first finger) covers the speakers and muffles the sound. I noticed this a lot playing games on my old iPhone. Speaker should be on the back ideally or on the sides.

I haven't seen one up close yet, but I thought the power plug was on the bottom now. So, would that be in addition to the speakers on the bottom?? or did they move them elsewhere?

Thank you for your wonderful useful tip. So I am only allowed to play a game with sound when I plug in headphones. Great practical advice from you! I like to see you hold the phone with the headphone plug digging into your finger too! I know because I made a mockup of the phone and held it in gaming grip.

The speakers are on the bottom of the phone on either side of the USB port.
It would be more practical on the back but in terms of design it looks uglier. That's why they put the speakers on the bottom. My Atrix has its speaker on the back and it is much better than when I had an iPhone.
Speakers never bothered me on the iphone 4s when I had it for 6 months so I don't see it as a design flaw here. I am terribly concerned about the size and weight though. I know that the older Lumia phones are thicker but it definitely does not look that way. The 920 looks HUGE and that is saying a lot since I currently have a GS3.
I hope that my concerns disappear after handling or I might have to get an HTC 8x, which I really want to avoid after owning two crappy HTC One X phones.
Personally I kind of like the thickness. Gives it substance. I have held ultra thin phones and think that I'll break them. Speaker placement to me doesn't matter as long as they sound good. I just hope it's more water tolerable than the L900. Saw the torture test on c|net and it wasn't pretty.

No, tboy is right. They are on both sides.
The 800 also has the speaker on the bottom. It doesn't bother me since I have a light grip on it when I play.
Anyway I think there are always some problems with the placement of the speakers. There is just no perfect solution. If you put it on the back then some people will complain that the sound will get muffled while it's placed on it's back e.g on the bed or the couch. If you wanna put it on the side then you are forced to put one on both sides but most windows phones have 3-4 buttons on one side and adding a speaker would make it look really cluttered and one may end up being muffled again. Top has the same problem as bottom and front wouldn't just work because of aesthetics.
I personally think that the speakers on the bottom are the lesser evil compared to the other options.
The speaker is placed on the bottom is actually a good idea.
With the iPhone it was placed on the bottom due to the alarm, so that the sound would not get blocked.
I always place my phone (s3) upside down just to hear my alarm better , Since I'm a deep sleeper.
The Lumia 920 has no flaws. It was designed hand manufactured by the hand of god. Just kidding. Speaker placement is actually very fine with me. It's more of a preference issue that you brought up. Cnet's torture test of the 900 shows that it will die from water. That should be an indication of what to expect. Then again, it's the only phone I know that you can hammer a nail with and still be fine. The 920 is supposed to be even tougher. So if my phone drowns... At lest I'll still be able to fix thins around the house with it. LOL. Most indestructible phone design I've seen so far was the Galaxy S3. Survive a washer cycle with ease.

Loose feel from right bezel

The bezel on right side of the screen when holding the Tablet on landscape with 1hand from the right there's agap feeling on my thumb feels like pressing gaps with sound as in seems loose from right defected feeling compared to the left side feel
Is this a universal issue or my device is among the unlucky faulty of ones

Mine does the same, it was one of the first things I noticed. Mine does it when pressing my thumb a bit over the midline, like 40% into the right bezel, measuring from the top right corner and going downwards. The left bezel feels the most solid but the others have creaking spots.
It is not a big deal imo.

since you've mentioned this , im going today to check Sony Electronics here in UAE and test their demo to see if this is a universal issue , its an issue of irritation from its solidity coming from sony this hurts their name. if people accept keeping the condition this way then handling the device will sway from the comfort level of slick solid feel by time.
I don't have that issue with my Xperia Z2 Tablet
I have this issue. Makes a creaking sound when I pinch the tablet on the right side. Did not do this when I first got the tablet but started a couple days ago. Did not seem to affect the water proofing but I only tried running it under a faucet.
Can we warranty this?

I just returned my Z2 tablet and got a reinbursement.
My unit started to have very noticeable rippling artifacts and flashes on the right edge when I was holding the tablet landscape with my right hand. Not always, but far from subtle when it happened, and I do not think I was gripping unreasonably hard. Additionally, holding the tablet from the right edge would sometimes wake up the tablet as if I had double tapped the screen.
It could be my unit but it looked like a weakness in its design so I do not trust the build quality of this model for the long term though I liked everything else about it.

I got a refund. Got my money back and I no longer have a Z2.
I recomend that prospective buyers try it at several stores so they get a feeling of its average build quality and buy at one that allows refunds just in case.
I am disappointed by the build quality and I wish those 50 grams they saved from the first Z were used to reinforce the body instead. The original Z tablet was light enough already.
In all other regards, however, the tablet was the best Android tablet experience you can buy.

im waiting for comtel to give me one since they sent it to sony asia and perhaps this week if not im getting the money back and find another retailer to buy a new one and give u guys feedback for sure
No other owners facing same issue?
ok I just got my new replacement I think this issue is from the production line or somehow its a design flow, this is the 2nd one im feeling and it feels diffrent then my first, the first that I had replaced had the issue from the right side and now this one has the issue from the left side but its diffrent, no more crackling sound under the bezel, but this is just like a loose feel more over then the one from the past, I guess the more tighter they make it the more crackling sound u will feel when handling device. I still didnt test the touch screen and water proof, im going to be using this daily on water and give a later feedback on touch screen and anything else, atleast its less frustrating then my previous one which kept sketching crackling sounds on the right side of the bezel whenever I pick it up with 1 hand from the right.
OK until now was under water for 15min lots of bubbles was coming out of it from the bezel where their was no port it was weird unlike the first one. Its not an iPad the gaps loose feeling from the design is the only problem. The back feels is not enforced proper to the whole build quality. It's like ablowfish, medium pressure presses can make you feel the sway of the build qualities loosness of the chassis /back. &screen
Water goes in the bezel feels heavier after its set under water and I am not sure please verify with your tablet
New update...
Yes water goes in just verified now the crackling sound is back when it used to be a gap of air is now a crackling sounds. The bezel body of this build design is not reinforced perfectly. This is an obvious glitch Sony please wake up.
If u guys want I can demonstrate what I mean and how I knew water goes in from the right side of this tablet.
Once I diped it in my bath tub theirs bubbles lots of little bubbles coming from the upper right edge of the bezel... Meaning air is released....
Their was no sound when I used to carry this tablet with ( one hand) from the (right side edge) on Landscape
But now that first issue still arises..
It's the same issue with the one I had replaced.
Sony is not aware of this issue please help shoutcast to people like Engadget and the review people to reach Sony since Sony support line and emails are dense to react to whom.
i have a same problem on my LTE version SGP521. feels like cheap poorly made device when I hear that cracking sound and I have a feeling that could compromise water tight seal. I talked to sony support and they gave me retarded respond saying give it a time. WTF Sony???
I'm gonna start calling them up until I get replacement I'm not waiting this will not get fixed itself magically.
Myne is same model tablet , the sgp is Singapore base and this issue is the same issue that z2 phone owners are experiencing in Singapore.
if u Google gap screen z2 Singapore, the results will show z2 phone owners 2months ago complaining about the gaps and water resistant.
Sony did not fix Singapore past problem with the z2 phone owners, if this issue is just Singapore I hope so then I'm returning my tablet and ordering one from UK or USA.

These are available in AT&T stores now, though its cheaper to get them on eBay right now due to not having to pay tax. They seem to be sold out online, but they are in stock in every AT&T store in my area for 149.00. They are awesome, by the way. Great sound and great design. I had the 730's and these are so much better in every way, especially when running/working out.
Also have these and the prior top model. The new ones sound worse due to lack of bass and overall fullness. Also no noise cancellation. Bummer. They've also bigger and harder to fit under my work dress shirt. Only thing good is the retractable cables.
Picked mine up today and not impressed. I like the design, it lays flatter than my 730's did and doesn't twist around my neck when I do any leaning over. The retractable wires are great I'm impressed with the overall design and functionality. What I'm not impressed with is the sound quality. My 730's are way louder and have more bass. Even with the built in equalizer on the infinum they are not better sounding. Trying to decide if I'm going to return them. At $160 after tax I'm not too too pleased.
Have you tried using another player to boost the bass?
I installed viper it helped a little with the bass. I haven't used power amp in a while might have to bring it back..
Edit: Power amp sounds even worse. I don't know kinda starting to like the headset.
Well after a day of owning these I'm becoming more pleased. While the bass might not be as heavy as I like they're overall pretty clear. Anyone else that owns these know if the call and/or music button are supposed to blink at all? I was under the impression they were supposed to blink red..
I love mine. As soon as I found the equalizer setting and I changed the setting it sounds amazing. I just love them and the sound and I am an audiophile. The ONLY thing is now it turns on and off on its own. It is really annoying. Im going to go get it switched outn other than that I ABSOLUTELY love them for movies, games and music. Some people are leaving ignorant bad reviews o n other sites of it. Have they looked at the manual? Thats what I did. Also the red ring buttons around the buttons not lighting up was a little bit of a disappointment. But I'll live lol

Like I said they've grown on me quite a bit. I contacted Lg about the red lights. They said they're supposed to light up and suggested I return them for exchange. I did so and the new ones don't blink either. Neither did the service reps at the store. So I don't know if Lg has no clue or we all got defective devices, I think the first option is the case.
I have been using the hsb-700 model for at least 4 years and the are still working fine. But this looks like it would be a nice upgrade. The retractable wires would solve my one dislike on the 700, and better sound is always good! I'll have to put them on my wishlist.
I loved the sound on mine, but the retraction mechanism stuck a couple of times in the first few days. I don't think the red actually lights up like the picture on the box. One of the "features" is that the light is not as annoying as it used to be and it was put on the inside of the headset.
I returned them and picked up the 750's. The sound (bass included) is comparable, but not as clear at higher volumes. Also, the earbuds on the 900's were perfect. They are the same size (IMO) as the 700's and fit perfect in my ear. The 750 earbuds are way too big.
So, now I am debating going back to the 900's because they have the best combination of sound and comfort. I'll just have to get a 3 year, $15 squaretrade warranty to cover the thin wires and mechanism.
About to be on my fourth pair of these. The second pairs right earbud quit working after two weeks. Now the third pairs play/pause and track slider arent working properly. Just got off the phone with Lg and theyre going to replace them again. I just hope this isnt an ongoing issue with these. Hope this pair will be my last.
Sounds like i should just shut up and be happy that my 750's work perfectly...
wow that thing looks ugly as hell...
