So this morning I ran through the steps to unlock my phones bootloader and it all seemed to go without a hitch, except for some trouble getting windows to find the bloody usb drivers but once that was completed I noticed quite a bit of the phones software was missing, no camera, no lockscreen, etc everything else is still working but the standard ROM is in no fit state. Anyway I thought fine I'll just install cyanogenmod like I was going to anyway, unfortunately this is where I'm stuck as I have the cyanogenmod nightly sitting here but have no clue how to get it onto the phone, is there a CWM I can install or some other method to flash cyanogen on this phone or failing that is there a way to relock my bootloader so I can repair the phone via sony's tool?

Hi guys, I've had a look around for this, but I can only find the solution for bootloaders that are unlocked. I suspect my Ray WASN'T unlocked. I accepted the OTA 2.3.4 update, thinking it would be fine. But the phone now shows the exclamation mark. I can get into both the recovery and fastboot modes (green/blue LED).
None of the recovery solutions are working for me. Is there a way for me to fix this, or will the phone have to go to a Sony Ericsson shop.
The official PC software from SE won't restore it either.
it is wise to go to sony shop , they will fix it
Not sure if this will solve your problem, but it solved mine:
The problem was with the bootloader. So I tried FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick which brings a small firmware information to reset the bootloader.
The problem I was having was to be able to correctly connect the phone to the flash tool. My phone's USB connection was constantly going up and down. So I decided to uninstall all the tools and drivers and install them from scratch.
In short, here's what I did.
Installed Update_Service_Setup-2.11.10.7.exe from sony ericcsson in order to get the USB drivers to work.
Followed the instructions of the Update_Service and flashed the latest update available for my phone (2.3.4). This didn't solve the startup problem, just installed the latest update.
I ran the Update_Service again and restarted the process has if I was going to flash again, but after the Update_Service detected the phone I canceled the installation. (I did this just to make sure the phone was connected in FlashBoot)
Then I installed FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick.exe, opened the folder of the application and ran X10FlashTool.exe
Hit Flash button and the program opens a Firmware Selection window with a preloaded firmware with two reseting contents (loader.sin, preset.ta). Hit OK button and waited until the program indicated the flash process was finished. The process of flashing takes a few minutes and we need to be patient. It might even seem like it's doing nothing but we just have to wait.
After finishing the flash process the program invited me to disconnect the phone and turn it on. I did so and the phone took probably a minute or so to startup. At first I thought it didn't solve the problem, because it was taking so long to start, but it did solve! So I waited patiently and the Sony Ericsson logo showed up giving me a new hope. After that I had to wait another 4 or 5 minutes for the phone to finish applying the new firmware mentioned in point 2. (There's no visual information of the conclusion process so you might wonder the phone might have hung.) Just waited and everything got back to normal with the benefits of the new firmware 2.3.4 (instead of the previous 2.3.3).
I hope it helps someone having the same issue.

Might not fall under warranty.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792, check my tutorial, there is a guide to unbricking.
Hello all,
I got a Ray last week, unlocked it, rooted it, put MIUI rom on everything went fine.
However today, the screen suddenly stopped responding completely. I pulled the battery out, back in, nothing. I re-flashed the rom, nothing then re-flashed the stock rom still nothing at all.
I tried to relock (in case i have to send it back to my operator and also try the automatic push thing from blendmiui) the bootloader but i got a failure in flashtool.
I can t do anything with it and can not mount the SD card to put an other rom in it.
So basically now i got the stock rom which boots, the power and home buttons work, but that s pretty much it.
Does anyone have an idea ?
well that looks more like a hardware problem on the touch pannel, not related to ROM whatsoever.
Apart from sending it to repair ... I don't see any solution :-(
Aww that s what i was scared of ... Do you know by any chance if the warranty will take care of this ? Knowing that i unlocked the BL ?
Yes I think, you didn't brick your phone (software), if it's an hardware problem unlocked bootloader will not change anything concerning the warranty.
So long story short I have this thunderbolt that is not working any longer. All of this happened over a year ago so I am vague on what I did to get the phone in its currently ruined state. It was rooted with the stock image and after trying to put a CM rom on it that didn't work I mistakenly booted into the phones recovery instead of clock work.
I now get a security warning and it is now s-on. If i do a recovery or factory reset it just boots back into the bootloader. Attached is an image of what is current on the screen when I power it on. I can't get ADB working on this pc but my spare rig has it working in OSX. ADB does not display the device. I have a way to get files onto the sd card but I am still kinda new to all of this stuff and just looking for some help. So where do I proceed from here?
I am going out of my mind.
So the phone just literally booted into my rooted rom. So now the question is, how do I get rid of the security warning and get s-off permanently?
At my end.
After a long day of trying to fix this thing and crawling all over the internet reading different posts I officially don't have a damn clue as to how to fix this. I am pretty sure the bootloader is corrupted and seeing as the phone is so old now it's really hard to find working links to downloads for this device.
I really hope someone can help. I have had my HTC One about a month, unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, installed TWRP, made a nandroid backup, and flashed Android Revolution HD 11. I recently dirty flashed the newest ARHD, 12.1, and since then I can only charge my phone if it is powered off, and then only if fast boot mode is turned off. I tried to flash to my nandroid, but the file seems to be corrupted. I flashed back to my ARHD 11 backup, and that worked but I still cannot charge while the phone is on. I am currently downloading a nandroid from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39588860
I'm going to try to flash this and see if it works. Until then, does anybody have any ideas on what the problem is? Also, can somebody provide a link to a walkthrough on getting this phone back to complete stock (unrooted, locked bootloader, etc) in case I need to return it? Thanks in advance...
EDIT: I just found a link to this video which I'm going to try also if the nandroid doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_KBYx0xuAs&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Phone won't connect to PC either...
So the video I linked to didn't work because my computer won't recognize the phone. I tried reinstalling the HTC drivers, and still nothing. I also found this seemingly great tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242635
...which didn't work for me because of the problem of my computer not recognizing my phone. I really hope there is either a fix for this issue, or a way to lock the bootloader again without connecting it to a computer so that I can return this phone and get a new one...
Bump for help...
Here's how it started:
I was happily using the tablet (pollux_windy), when something prompted me to upgrade to 7.11 Lineage OS images. One of the things noteworthy here is that I was never able to go to recovery by pressing VOLUME_UP. I was always using adb to reboot to recovery
I installed it and used OpenGapps aroma installer to install what I wanted. I removed a few CM account related stuff
The tablet booted but was being stuck on the first screen on initial setup that displays a big LineageOS logo in green and there was no other option on it. I thought maybe the tablet is being slow and left it overnight to see if anything appears. Nope.. nothing did.
I tried a lot to go to recovery to reflash or flash something good. But as I mentioned before, I wasn't able to get into recovery by key combinations.
I tried to use Sony Companion to do a Software Repair. It kept complaining that bootloader was unlocked
I tried to use flashtool on mac to flash a stock FTF. It kept giving error (ERROR - null, ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted)
Since it looked like the only problem with using Sony Companion was that bootloader was unlocked. So I proceeded to lock the bootloader from flashtool. I believe this was where I messed up. I locked it successfully
I then proceeded to use software companion but it keeps giving me error with a small message about UEGetPhoneInfoFailure. I searched a few forum and posts but it seems that there's no solution for this (?)
I tried to unlock my bootloader again. I did it through the official method the first time and repeated it but fastboot write failed and it wasn't unlocked. Flashtool is not able to unlock it as well. Flashtool error is (Your phone bootloader cannot be officially unlocked)
I tried various versions of flashtool in MacOS and in Windows, trying to flash any FTF. I get a new error along with the one I mentioned above (-: Processing of loader.sin finished with errors)
I'm now typing this post
I'll appreciate if someone can help here.
I got this device when it first came out. I've loved it since now. It was an ace. It's not waterproof anymore because I did a few repairs on my own. But it worked flawlessly and battery life was great. I wouldn't mind saying goodbye to it as it's pretty old, but trying to revive it and have it living as it's cooler than a dead tablet

Don't panic!
7.1.1 ROMs have some issues when reverting back to stock ROM.
Switch off device by holding VOL+Power for 5-7 sec, then read -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-tablet-z/help/flash-stock-rom-t3564623.

One thing I always practice and preach about Sony devices is not to panic .. Flash mode and Flashtool has saved my a** so many times.
So, thanks to you, I resolved the issue. I was doing the same thing but had a couple of pieces in the process that needed correction.
I let go of my Windows VM on Mac and prepped my old laptop fresh on Windows 10. Driver installation kept failing because of unsigned driver issue and bcdedit didn't do anything despite returning a success. Advanced startup worked. The second thing that might be wrong with my original attempt was the stock FTF version. 5.1.1 didn't work. I got hold of a german unbranded version on 4.1.2 and used it instead. Then reflashed to 5.1.1 and everything is golden.
Thanks again :good:
