Ok so I was flashing the Axura 2.0.5 rom and I didnt see anything happening, so I got anxious and did something incredibly stupid, I pulled the battery. Now in the process i believe that i pulled the battery at the time the internal sd was being rewritten. At this point my phone will boot but will get stuck at the vibrant screen. I can get into download mode but I am unable to get into clockwork recovery (if I could then i'd just flash my nandroid backup). I've tried using odin v 1.0 and 1.30 to no avail. I'm using the 512 pit file and the t959uvjfd.tar files to try and reinstall and go back to stock. However when I do this my screen displays Applying Muti-csc, instaling muti csc. When I try to use odin I am able to see my phone in com9 but am unable to do anything with it aside from get into download mode. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could give me. I have also tried to use the command propt and ADB to try and get this to work but I get the error of no device found.

What happens when you try to get into recovery? If you've borked a rom Install you can *usually* recover from it as nothing is really permanent in the phones memory.
When I try and get into recovery (I assume you mean clockworkmod) I select reinstall packages and I get the following error " E; cant open /sdcard/update.zip (no such file or directory) installation aborted.
I am only able to access stock recovery.

Okay well you aren't completely out of luck, Ive had that before on my Fascinate, try to redownload the update.zip file for CWM and try again. Sometimes that fixes it for me *for some odd reason*
The problem is that I can't get into CWM recovery, only stock recovery, also how would I push update.zip if I cant get any where with odin?

If you have a card reader of some sort then you can mount your Micro SD card on your PC and do it like that, or if you have another Android phone then you can use it to mount the Micro SD card, just swap em. download the update.zip and drop it on the root of the card then in the stock recovery try and flash it.
My problem is i dont know how to access the root files right now, i am unable to do anything on the phone aside from access stock recovery
I am currently attempting this method "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817186" but nothing is happening with odin i am only seeing that odin has recognized the device but is stuck at "setupconnection" using odin v1.30
does anyone have a copy of the update.zip file to use to unpack clockwork?
I thought the update.zip had to be on the internal SD to work.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
i think this is it
also I think I have to get it on the internal SD card but I'm not sure how to go about doing that seeing as how I have no access to anything but the recovery menu and odin which fails to make a connection. I get the yellow port but nothing happens beyond that.
Yeah you've got a true problem there I'm not sure what to do about that sorry man
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw
out of curiousity is it possible to remove the internal sd card and mount inside a card reader to add or edit files?
Im not sure there is an actual removable chip as much as its a part of the phones memory
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw
it was worth a shot, how would yall go about talking to t-mobile so that they would provide a new phone with out me having to pay 600ish for a new phone
Well there is an external SD card in the phone but as for the Internal memory that is NOT on an SD card, its a packaged chip not a removable media
any other thoughts about how i might use odin or the sdk to access my files on the root folders? so that i could insert the zip file?

I'm not sure about that I mean you voided the warranty I guess you could tell them its messed up and hope they don't figure out what you did but its on you, I think you might just have to bite down and take the heat
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw
is there really any way for them to tell that i've rooted the phone and what happened, normally dont they just check to see if the phone has physical damage and water damage?
They refurbish phones there is no way they give out new phones on replacements I mean hell you could end up with one I had three months ago lol but maybe they won't check who knows but either way its a gamble
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw
After installing a ROM and rebooting the phone everything seemed to work fine. The only problem is that it I can not install any programs because it thinks that I have no space available.
Now I did not backup my system... I do have an older backup on my laptop... but I can not install clockwork because there is no space.
please help!
Thanks in Advance!
it might be a problem with the ROM.
ODIN back to stock, then flash that same rom again, if its still there, contact the DEV and tell him, because its their fault.
If it gets fixed with re-flash something went wrong while flashing and that happened.
What ROM did you install? Was it ODEX or DEODEX?
I agree with the above post, if an ODIN doesn't solve the problem, it sounds like a problem with the rom, but a little more info on your situation wouldn't hurt.
Thanks for the input... I hope to resolve this before tomorrow! The ROM was Bionix Fusion
I am new to this and probably should have researched a little more. lol
Ok I have downloaded the ODIN3 v1.00
How do I ODIN back to stock?
I have the Samsung Vibrant,
Having the same issue when running Odin with Eugene_2E_JK2_Froyo ...I ran Odin to fix a brick and didn't know the history of the phone. This is the only tar that will boot the phone all the way up, but I get the 0.00 available space error too. I tried stock and almost get a full boot up, but then goes black before going to main screen... I've tried many different combos including T959UVJFD.tar + s1_odin_20100512 pit , 512 pit + T959UVJI6, T959JL5, etc...
suggestions?
The ROM itself seems nice... I like the changes I've seen. For some reason it does not recognize the space that is available on the SD card as space for Applications. I've read a post somewhere about repartitioning the SD card in ODIN. ROM manager is s pretty much useless without clockwork recovery installed.... can not install it without space available. I tried repartitioning in ODIN but would not do it... is this something that could work? Maybe I am doing something else wrong,... or any other suggestions?
At this point I will be happy to go back to factory settings then start over...

I agree... This thread would probably get more attention in the development section, but I may be wrong. I will keep trying things and let you know if I come up with something...
Actually now I am having the same problem... Went back to the original using ODIN now when the phone boots up it goes to a blank screen and will not go any further!

Okay... YAY!!! I got it working! Here's how!
I want to note that every time I would Flash the phone with ODIN when the phone would reboot it would fail to wipe the data! This was not a fix that I found on purpose but it did work for me:
I flashed the file EUGENE373_SamsungS_Froyo_PDA
Now that file is for the Vibrant i9000. Not mine
So after that I re-tried the original one that I stated above,.... then it worked! I did notice that it did NOT fail to wipe the data!
So relieved!

Thanks for posting your resolution in the event this happens to someone else down the line. Glad you got it up and running.
Yup that is the true stock firmware... try this, it might help and it might not? when you boot your phone and it loads up, format your internal and external sdcard. (back up first) then reboot.... see if that helps. if not, odin the stock rom again. right now i'm shooting at flies with a BB gun so it is worth a try anyway...... and i'll try and research it for ya......
oops i didnt know you found a way....my bad. glad you got it working!!!!
So is that the way to fix it then? I just want to know if anyone else has tried it with no problem before i do it. Also, will you be able to flash back to stock?
I flashed the files that were included with the ODIN package and i now don't have any memory for applications also is the only way to fix this issue by using ODIN again or has someone found another method?
Did you use OCLF at any time previously?

I tried voodoo for the first time and couldn't get past the vibrant screen i then used the odin package the tmobile default files and got to the tmobil boot screen but the screen goes black and nothing happens my hard ware keys were on but that's it so then i used eugenes package based off the tmobile leak and that's where i'm at now it works but no application memory available.
so i want to see if i can just use ODIN with the file that is up a couple of posts to get my app memory back
How much available app space are we suppose to have?
So I know the phone has 2GB of app space, but when I totally wipe everything and go back to stock, it says only about 1.7GB.
go to settings, then sd card and phone storage
scroll all the way down to application storage
how much available space is it suppose to have under stock conditions?

Can you post the EUGENE373_SamsungS_Froyo_PDA file? I flashed Eugene_2E_JK2 Froyo, and then tried flashing the original JFD Stock Rom, but it gave me a black screen after the Galaxy S screen. Also, it didn't wipe the data for me.
has anyone fixed this? i have the same problem im stuck
Hello,
I consider myself a fairly technical person, and I recently had my phone lock up while running Nero V3 for my Samsung Vibrant. When I tried to reboot (battery pull) my internal SD was corrupted, so i decided to return to stock. I was not running any lag fixes at this time. Upon flashing to stock with Odin, I was greeted with a black screen and 4 lights. I've been trying everything to fix this. I saw that many people with the same issue have had luck flashing Eugene's Froyo that Doesn't Brick, and then flashing the JFD stock rom. I tried this as well, and have had no luck.
I am stuck. I don't know what to do. I have managed to load CWM recovery, and i can adb into the device, but when I try to push an update.zip, I get an I/O error.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm just not suer where to go from here. I really believe if I could just format and re-partition the internal SD, I would be able to get it all back...
Thanks.
When you say you flashed "eugenes froyo that doesn't brick", how did it not work? Were you able to get into download mode and odin the proper files? Did it error out?

If you are able to boot into clockwork recovery you can format your internal sdcard there. That should fix your corruption issue. After that I would boot into download mode and Odin stock JFD with re-partition clicked. Hopefully that gets you up and running. Then if you actually NEED any files from you internal sdcard (like pictures) there are programs out there that let you recover items off erased harddrives. Just be sure to do that before filling up your sdcard with new stuff. Hope this helps and good luck.
Eugene's Froyo that doesn't brick gave me an error, and I read that it was supposed to. So from there, I got into download mode and used Odin to install the JFD Stock Rom. Odin was always successful when it came to installing and rebooting my device.
Recovery "says" that it sucessfully formats my sd card, but the files remain, and I still cannot boot. When I use Odin to flash any other ROM, I get the same result. I either get a black screen with 4 lights, or it gets hung up on the Samsung Vibrant screen.
Also, I'm not concerned with any files on the internal SD.
If you can get into cwm recovery and download mode, you should be able to get out of this. Try to format sd from cwm as whitehawk suggested. Did jfd odin error out as well? Can you restore from cwm?

Didyou repartition in odin when you flashed back to stock or on eugene's froyo that doesnt brick?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yes, I re-partitioned in Odin. I've tried several times, and the last time, I repartitioned on the stock ROM.
Thanks, NightHawkx! I am giving that a try now. crossing fingers...
ODIN says:
"<ID:0/010> Completed..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)"
Phone reboots, blank screen. All 4 buttons lit up when I tapped home. Nothing more.
I wonder if it's something wrong with my device. It seems like it should be reparable. I would rather not take it to T-mobile. I don't know what they'd so since it's been rooted and had custom roms.

You need to delete the jfd file and the 512 pit file from your computer and redownload them
I would be happy to try. Where should I get them from?
Also, is there a way to delete my Internal SD from my pc or adb?
Downloading now from Vibrant Bible Sticky post link.
Same result.
Try this fix and you should also take out your sim card and your external sd card
Same result.
I wonder if, since Nero is stuck on my phone, and the file system is unreachable, is there a way to load Nero on my phone? I can't from CMRecovery, I tried. Can I Odin a copy of that rom on there? Just long enough to remove the files and reflash?

I believe the key is you need to find a voodoo kernel you can push via odin. I searched a little and found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877800 If you scroll down in the OP you will find a section called "Downloads" the bold text in gold will link you to a voodoo .tar kernel.
Hope this helps

If the phone cannot get past the black screen, just delete the CWM zip and tell t-Mobile it just stopped working, they wont be able to get further than you and will give you a new phone.
Soo....I kinda f*cked up my phone. I had Bi-Winning for a while and got bored of it, so I decided to flash another rom. I had it for about 2 hours and decided, I wanna flash another one! I went back in my history and this is terrible, but I cannot remember for the life of me which rom I used. It was either Simply Honey, Crazy 8, or MIUI. I honestly can't remember. Anyway, after that I used ROM Manager to flash Biffmod from my SD Card and after it did that, it went into a bootloop. So I tried to get back into Download mode, but it just kept going to the Vibrant screen. THEN, I tried to use Odin without being in Download mode and I didn't realize the TAR file wasn't completely downloaded, ran Odin and it made it even worse. Now every time I try to use the various methods of getting into Download mode, I come across the screen in the attached photo. It's a weird version of CWM Recovery, it says. v2.5.1.0 SOK ULFK. I cannot get passed this screen and into Download mode no matter what I do. HELP!
It also can't mount my SD card.

If it doesn't work the first time don't panic, sometimes it takes me a couple of times to get it to work. If you still can't get into download mode I see a JIG in your future...

Same thing happened. The battery icon screen flashes and then it goes to this weird CWM. What the eff did I do to my phone?
Why not flash a froyo rom like bionix or project v from the recovery menu.
Another thing - When I try to use CWM to reboot into Download mode, the screen Galaxy S GT I9000 pops up and goes back to CWM. I have the Vibrant, and I'm pretty sure those are two somewhat different phones...Why is mine confused?

Well I assume I'd need to actually have the rom to be able to flash it. And when I try to install zip from SD it's unable to mount the SD card.
Someone please help me, I am getting extremely desperate here.
Generally the Galaxy S GT I9000 screen comes up if you have the Gingerbread bootloader flashed. GB Bootloaders don't use the 3 button combo for Download Mode, all you have to do is press and hold Volume Up + Power.
If that doesn't work try flashing a GB ROM. Sadly there's really no way to tell what file system the phone is using in CMW at least not in the version I have, if you can find out that would help a lot though. Since we don't know what file system it's using I'd recommend using a non-CM7/MIUI rom first. Download one of the non-CM7/MIUI GB roms. Plug the phone into your computer and in CMW go to Mounts and Storage and Mount USB Storage. You should then be able to copy the ROM onto your phone and flash it.
I had problem getting to download mode after flashing ported gt I9000 rom .hold down or up, power and home " button" (one puts in recovery the other in download can't remember which)

THANK YOUUUU!!! Oh my goodness. I JUST bought a jig with my gf's card and then I came back to this thread and saw this. Tried it, it worked. Now hopefully I can do the rest without a problem. Thank you again for getting me into download mode.
Word. Glad I could help. The important thing to remember is the Vibrant is a pretty robust phone. It's damn near impossible to brick it so bad you can't recover, so there's rarely any reason to panic. And hey, now you have a JIG on the way just in case you get into some real trouble down the line.

Actually I have one little problem, I am unable to get to CWM Recovery it says there is no update.zip/ "No such file or directory". I need to get going so I'll just leave it as stock 2.1 right now.
Also it's still starting up with the GT I9000 thingy and I just want it back to normal! Haha anyway. Thanks again.
Download the AIO Toolbox, use it to Odin back to stock (the appropriate PIT and PDA files are included with the install), root the phone (again using the AIO Toolbox) and then install ROM Manager and use it to flash CWM.

Hey there,
I'm trying to get CyanogenMod on my friend's aging Vibrant. I first rooted, and then I attempted to install ClockworkMod through the stock recovery. At first it just restarted back to the stock recovery, so I installed it again, and boom- CWM. From there, I wiped, went to mount USB storage, and the drive didn't show up on my computer. I figured it needed to be rebooted, so I tried that. This time, it reverted BACK to stock recovery. I figured, okay, all I have to do is flash CWM again. It won't work anymore. I don't know what to do, because I can't flash CWM, a Rom, or even restore the original rom because I can't get into CWM.
Please help!

Okay, I've never had this issue personally, nor have I read of anyone else having a similar issue. However, despite the lack of CWR, you can still restore the device back to stock via Odin. There is a guide on the usage of Odin that can be found here. Download links to the program along with the required .pit and .tar files can also be found in said guide. Once you've got the device restored, you can go through the process of installing CyanogenMod... But, keep in mind that the installation process is going to vary slightly depending on what version of CyanogenMod you wish to install. Are you trying to install CyanogenMod 7 (Gingerbread), 9 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 10 (Jellybean 4.1), or 10.1 (Jellybean 4.2)?
I know about Odin, but I'm on a Mac right now. I was really hoping there was a way around this so I didn't have to install Windows via Boot Camp. I'm planning on installing CM10.

You could use Heimdall, an alternative to Odin that is compatible with OS X. You can download it here.
Now, in regards to the process of installing CM10, you could refer to this video... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812882. Hopefully you won't get that weird CWR issue this time around. Let me know how it goes. :fingers-crossed:
No matter what, I can't get Heimdall to detect the phone. It just says "Failed to detect compatible download-mode device".

Hmm... Perhaps this post might be of some help? Sorry, but I don't own a Mac, nor have I ever personally used Heimdall... So I've never had that issue before. However, a little Google searching uncovered a bunch of threads discussing this exact error. Perhaps a little digging may uncover your answer? Link. Again, best of luck dude.
Can you get back into the stock recovery and transfer files to the internal SD? If so, you need to flash update.zip(attached). It will add a custom recovery. You may need to flash it twice to get it to show up. From there, I would suggest you do the following: 1) wipe user data, cache and davlik(under advanced) 2) reboot recovery, if the stock recovery comes back, just reflash update.zip. 3) Flash whichever ROM you want on the phone, again, may take two flashes.
If you cannot add files to the internal SD, this solution won't work, in which case you'll have to play around a little more. I would suggest, as an alternate method, that you pull the battery and SD card. replace the battery and try to enter download mode. Try using Heimdal One-Click(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278683). It's much easier than using Heimdal or Odin and will flash the Vibrant to stock. View the download mode shortcut below.
Side note: hardware shortcuts help a lot. If you don't know them, they are here:
Hold volume up + volume down + power =
1. When off, boots recovery
2. When on, reboots into recovery
Hold volume up + volume down +plug in computer USB = download mode.
^This is what you use for Odin and/or Heimdal. They won't recognize the device unless it's in download mode.
May also take a few tries.
Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions.
EDIT: You may need to have the phone on the stock ROM to flash that update.zip. I ran into that problem and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working for a long time. Don't update the vibrant to stock 2.2 to use the update.zip.

I already have the update.zip on the phone. I can get into the stock recovery and flash it (it says "replacing recovery with Clockwork" and everything), but every time I attempt to flash it, the phone reboots to the stock recovery. I can't add files to the internal SD because the only options are Reboot System Now, Reinstall Packages, Delete All User Data, and Delete Cache Data"
One-Click doesn't see the phone either. I'm starting to get really worried. Is there some sort of driver or something I need to have installed on the system?
SOLVED!
Alright, I finally figured it out. I'm exhausted, haha.
I finally just bit the bullet and installed Windows. I used ODIN, which was such a breeze. I wish I would have just done that in the first place.
Thanks for your help guys!

Although I had heard of Bay_wolf's AIO Vibrant Toolbox, which is also a one-click software (but only compatible w/Windows), I had never heard of "Heimdal One-Click". This is good to know about, and I've added the program to the The Official XDA Vibrant Bible Thread. I learn something new every day. Thanks!

Great news! You can follow the instructions I wrote out to install a custom ROM from stock. Just put all the files on the internal SD, wipe everything and flash update.zip and then the ROM and gapps.
If you have questions, you may PM me as well.
Good luck!
