Hey there Motorola razr users!
I just want to make some things clear to myself. I just switched from samsung galaxy s i9000 and i feel like i jumped in a drama. And i started to think i made a bad decision with this device.
1. Is there any way to change to another ofgicial ics? Seems like i bought a brasil device.
2. If i can change wich is the best official rom? Or can i install any custom rom? Or there are region specific custom roms aswell?
3. Is there any rom like stock but removed unusable motorola stuff?
4. We have any devs left or thay al have gone?
Thank you! I hope i will really enjoy this
Cheers

no drama :silly:
1. Yes, it's possible, look for the eternity project threads in development section. there's an europe ROM for ICS 672.180.33 that should work on every GSM RAZR (XT910).
2. I don't know if there are big differences in official GSM ROMs. But for custom ROMs there are lots of them. I prefer Arctic ICS (port of XT912 to XT910) or Epsilon_v3. Havn't tested CM9 or Cm10 for now.
3. Arctic ICS port. Most of moto- / bloatware removed.
4. There are still dev's for the RAZR and they do awesome work! Just check the dev forum!
Hope i was able to help you
If he got an Latam RazR he can't flash the EU Leak. He will get an cid error by trying that.
It's possible by doing some stuff with his CID, but i would not recommend it. It's not that easy and he can get some trouble without an working Backuo of HIS own CID!

I have got a RAZR that was accidentally flashed with RAZR MAXX firmware now it has no network.
Could this be downgraded or fixed in anywway? Any help appreciated!
RazR & Maxx uses the same FW. The only difference is between CDMA & GSM. So it depends on what carrier you're using. What's your Region?

Here you got the Asia ICS Fastboot, that can be flashed with RSD.
Charge your battery & wipe data before that. The How to use RSD is linked in Dev Section (Motorola Tools)

I have been checking for JB update for Asia(India), However as we are not getting official update, so are there any way to update it to JB? What i want to know is that can i just take any JB sbf and flash it on Razr xt910 or need to do something else? Very confused now..and which SBF is more suitable for Asia(India) phones..Like i have seen people reporting problems with EU sbf like baseband problems etc..Anyone here from India especially who have updated it to JB and not facing problem then pl help.. Thanks,..
U can Flash EU ICS Through RSD Lite and then U can Update to JB through ota or manually update through Recovery.

It won't affect your baseband or any other communication. Don't worry about that.

Been running the jb Vodafone EU update. Followed the guide, kept my root and all is well.
Made a few changes. My 3g signal was always full but the internet access used to be spotty. Just patched the radio from the EU retail leak and all is well.
So go ahead and flash the retail EU leak. Don't bother with the Vodafone one. I was impatient so I'm stuck with this with root access or flashing the EU retail sbf and losing my root.
DM me if you have any questions or need any help.
Cheers

Its been officially announced by Motorola that Indian Razr & Razr Maxx will remain:good: on ICS and there will be no JB update so the better option is to switch to EU JB. I have switched and have no regrets..

As for the root - there is no working way, you will have to root your phone once more.

delete cdt.bin from the firmware, then use rsd to flas JB. so you can keep lower cdt version, and you can root your phone easy.
