when i try with ph185.img,it says "main version is older"...

1 just flash a new rom just stay with your gsm or cdma
2 look in the gsm area think you can do it
3 hboot 1.5 is cdma and you dont want to get it
4 lots cdma is mostly sprint ( i think) gsm is used in outher places just stick to the one you are on or bad things can happen (ok??)
5 i dont have a idea but i hope i helped some and i think my info is right but someone may be smarter than me lol
Sounds like your phone is gsm. Look in the gsm dev section for everything you need. Hboot 1.5 is a cdma hboot, so its not for your phone. All the info you need is here....search and read ....a lot.

Well first off all, I think the majority off the HTC Evo 3D are people from the USA so most people have the CDMA version, however Eurasia uses GSM and not CDMA so you need check in the GSM section for roms.
Downgrading your hboot you can do with this guide.

Hboot 1.50 is for CDMA, you will have no trpuble downgrading you can S-off it.

hi im new to evo 3d and this kind of rooting. i have rooted htc explorer and neo v before n that was too easy but im stuck in htc evo 3d rooting now.
as more guides i read on rooting it, as more confused i am becoming. at the moment im totally confused what should i do first and in next steps. i have already unlocked bootloader through htc dev site. and tried different guides to install recovery in it but it never give any error in installing recovery and it also doesn't boot in recovery afterwards, please help me rooting it in right steps i should take, thanks

I have previously rooted an htc evo 4g and achieved s-off, I use Amon-ra recovery on that phone and was wondering if I was stuck with cwm recovery for the htc evo design. Additionally is it possible to achieve s-off on the htc evo design? There is just not a lot of support for this phone and I am not sure all of what is universal for android or htc phones. I am not a terribly experienced Android user. I've had the Rogers HTC EVO 3D since Sept 2011, and I've successfully flashed it with three different ROMs over that period - (1) Cool Sense, (2) KingCobra 1.2 ICS and (3) King Cobra 1.5 ICS. None of these ROMs required my phone to be S-OFF.
Current problem:
Now I am interested in upgrading to a JellyBean ROM. Specifically, CM 10.2. I chose it because it looks like the most stable and frequently updated Android 4.3 ROM. The problem is that this ROM required my phone to be S-OFF. So that's where I need help from you kind people.
Current question:
Does anyone have experience changing a S-ON Rogers HTC EVO 3D with HBOOT-1.49.0008 to S-OFF? I may be incorrect, but from what I understand I will need to downgrade to HBOOT-1.49.0007 before I can switch to S-OFF, and this downgrade will void my warranty (w/e) and potentially brick my phone crying.
Can anyone help me out?
