I had an app on iOS that whenever a call came in, it didn't take up the whole screen. It only showed up on top, similar to the iOS 5 notifications. There are times I don't feel like answering a call when using my phone and I don't want to reject it because then they would know. Is there an app that can stop incoming calls from using the whole screen on android?

YES!!!!! It's fairly new, but has been getting a lot of good reviews lately. Small Call PRO for Android. Essentially CallBar, but for Android and you don't have to jailbreak.

I'm at work and too pessimistic to believe it works lol
Can anyone verify this??? If so, WOW!!! Never thought this day would come. It's too hard to believe lol

what version of android are you on? there was an issue with skype audio/mic on earlier Froyo builds.
YAY
I read this on Engadget, came straight here to chat
About bloody time I say. And I've only had my Atrix a few weeks.
First smartphone, unlocked and flashed roms already LOL

Same here. It's as though the Atrix isn't put in "speakerphone" mode. When I make an audio call and hold the phone to my ear and speak directly into the mic, my voice comes through clear. When I make a video call and hold the phone away from my face, my voice can't be hears at all.
FWIW I'm running the CM7 beta.

I got this when it just came out, but throughout today, skype keeps on getting killed or the service anyway, and it gets glitchy.
why won't it stay logged in? Anyone experiencing this? I have like 400MB RAM left all the time, why would it need to be killed?

Do you have an app that Auto- Kills apps running for a long time? If so add Skype to the exception list. these things can happen with like Skype, Facebook apps and such because they always run in the background in order for you to get notifications if someone is one or messages you or something.
Absolutely no problems for me.
I was so surprised when I saw the video call option when I updated yesterday... I thought I'd never see this day... lol

I have no task killer
Help. So I was playing robo defense. Got a text and it automatically read it out loud.
Was using handcent. Deleted robo defense and handcent and its still reading them out loud with stock messaging app. Phone on vibrate or loud. Doesn't matter...
I get text it says out loud number and message..
Update: when someone sends me a text it no longer automatically pops up. I have to turn phone on for notification of text and it to be read out loud...
How do I make it stop?? Please. Thanks.

Try the accessibility menu in settings.
What am I looming for?
Says no accesibility apps.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
possibly a setting under 'voice input & output / text-to-speech settings'
I looked there. Don't really see any options. Is there a way to.turn it off completely?
It just turned on at random. Thinking bout putting it in some other language so no one understands it.
Holding off on factory reset. Until nexus comes out.

There's an app for that!
Did you install it?
This has got to be the most incriminating bug ever! If my texts got read aloud every time I got them, I would not be alive to post this here today... lol
I think you have some shady friend who downloaded an app on your phone to make this happen.

Defintiely did not install any app or let anyone install anything on my phone.
Again, it happened while I was playing robo defense, I received a text and it read it out loud while i was playing. It then started to read them no matter what.
Just did a factory reset. Hopefully that fixed it.

Glad you got it fixed, but also glad you posted this thread. It really made me laugh.
Same here!
I have this same issue myself, it must be a bug. Luckily it always stays on vibrate. It started out of nowhere and I don't feel like doing a hard reset yet. I looked at every single possible option and none were selected. Hope the next MR update will fix it! HTC and VZW are normally very timely and effective at updating their phones so I'm not too worried. I must say, I don't have a single other bug in this phone which is impressive for such new hardware these days.

I remember this happening on my hd2 on winmo. I think voice cmd had accidentally been turned on.
I hope you weren't sexting.
looking for an app that will alert up to 4 people and give off a loud audio two tone alert sound so someone could hear and find you if you fall / get shot / or incapacitated and cant call out. there are apps on the market but without the two tone alert built in.
haven't really looked into apps like that. possibly because i don't plan on getting shot...

all jokes aside tho use tone picker from market https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hlidskialf.android.tonepicker&hl=en then go on http://www.mobile9.com/ to get free all types of ringtone sms effect sounds i remix ringtone myself using sony acid pro my thing now is techno mixed with epic game sounds its pretty funny
There was one like this couple years ago when you get into a car crash sends out a SOS to a selective person. Fun till a little one at 2am wants to set it off and has it send to that person and they begin to freak out because you not picking up phone because you are asleep. Or that said person plays with the ringer to turn it off...

Hi guys,
Here's the problem:
When I call someone, the call is connected and he/ she puts me on hold, I don't get a notification for it. Also, when he/ she unholds the call, I don't get notified (on screen). This is something that was there on a Nokia N82!
Same for conference, etc.
Is there any way that these service signals be read by Android?
Thanks!

Yes, they can be read, according to:

But sadly I don't know any app using it

Maybe the FBI is listening in on your conversations. I only get beeps when the other person on the line hangs up and also when I receive text messages. Other than that, I haven't noticed random beeps.

Jeez... I'd hope the FBI would be more discreet.

Nope. Wish it was that simple, but unfortunately not. I'm not the only user that's observed the problem, it seems to exist on the S4 also.
