I was wondering if anyone can help me out and make this Beautiful widgets skin for me or at the very least help me do it. They have changed the way they theme the SC now and the pngs have borders around them similar to a PNG.9 which I could edit, but these are just pngs, so I'm not sure what to do with it. I tried, but it didn't show up. Thanks in advance. Below is the thread the theme is located:

In the attachments is the background I would like, so you can get the colors right.
can you post the default bg image of that beautiful widgets clock?

I wasn't trying to bother you bro. You already were busy, but I thank you. Do you have to have the default or can you use a skin? because the default skin is not on the sd card, it's in the apk itself and hard to find.
nah man, its cool.. i wanna help. I've never really used beautiful widgets so i am not sure how it works but from what i understand you have the default widgets and they have a themeing engine where you donwload skin apks and you can select between skins through the app?

That's right, but The default widget is in one of the drawables and I can't tell which. I can post the folders in a zip and also what I got so far.
Below is the drawable and drawable-hdpi out of beautiful widgets, the skin I had been working on called SparkICSClockSkin. after all it is your original creation, and some skins I downloaded that you can use for an example.

Alright, thanks. I already did all the pngs in the zip above called, SparkICSClockSkin.zip, but I don't know how to compile it. I already tried it regular, and I already put borders around it like a png.9 but can't get it to show up for nothing.
I also think I just found a Beautiful widgets dev kit. Check attachments.
Here is a little info on it too: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/th...-widgets-skinning-thread-147.html#post1309792
did you decompile the apk or did you just extract? it seems you just extracted it thats why the .9 borders arent showing up....

I got it working, I just have to edit it to look a little better now, but you don't extract the skins. their just in a folder on the sd card in Beautiful widgets/skins/scskins, but They are compiled like png 9's but you don't have to run them through eclipse like you would for framework. I got it working by using draw9patch and then changinging it from a png9 to a png. then I rebooted and it showed up. just needs a touch up.

ok i guess what your way is just replacing the image files in it but they are originally .9s
but your way should work too
We're your able to come up with anything ?
I did replace them with png 9's but I just changed the 9 to just png like in the folder, bc I don't see the ext 9.png. But anyway, here is what I got, but you can barely see the blue border I made, because of the stretching, and I don't like the numbers or how close the number background is..

super clock theme
my first watcha think?
That's good stuff. I actually couldn't get it the way I wanted it on beautiful widgets, bc I hate how close the number backgrounds are when compared to real sense clock, so I made one for Fancy widgets. Here's mine. Original is on the left and mine is on the right.

Cannot figure out which png it is in framework ( I think its in here) for when you are installing or downloading something. Its the solid one, not the stripped one. Anyone? Thanks in advance.
umm it is in the drawable as three seperate png i just cant think of what they are called right now
wait I think it is actually called Progressbar_intermediate1.png 2 and 3 under res/drawable-mdpi

those I already know about. I meant the one that is a solid color for when installing something or downloading. you see it moving along. its a solid orange by default
That is controlled in the resource.arsc file. I haven't figured out how to edit it yet but the color is Def in that file, if I just switch that file only with one I got from an in credible. Theme, it changes

would you mind sharing this file? And where is it located? And if I copy the file over that you give, what else changes?
yea there is only one problem with using this file that I have come across so far and its kind of big. The text color on all buttons is white so it cant be seen. The file itself is located in the framework-res.apk. I was using a program called winmerge to go through and the whole file is completley different but I havent figured out how to edit it nor how to read exactly what is says. I just formatted my laptop and put Ubuntu on it so as of right now I cant get the file to you, You can either search for Indigo_Blue Theme for CM6 here on XDA or blackle(google). The theme is in all hdpi but still has some good looking pngs you can use in your theme. I have resized all of them as well for mdpi but for some reason I get errors when trying to apply them all. If you cant find it I will send it to you here in a little bit though. I have been doing alot of reading and messing my phone up trying to figure out the best way to theme. For one I want to take the spinner out of the nfl program and put it in my theme but Im a long way from that. If you like I can send you over my notes as I come up with more discoveries of what it controlled where and how to edit its defaults to what I want.

Sure, if ya dont mind. I am not going to get into heavy themeing as you can see from my theme, but this is one of the things that bugs me as i want to change it and cant figure it out, lol.
I love my vibrant without a doubt. But I wish our icons were as eye catching as iphones... I keep googling for two months.. sure ive found some icons but just basic ones like phone icon, text, notepad, sms, and most of them are crappy quality because they arent original iphone icons just look a likes or remakes
Can someone help me find preferably new iphone icons from their newest firmware.... a complete set would be great.
Thank You!!!

Icons on our phone are just png files. Any png file with the right size will do. There are various apps on the market to change icons on the home screen. If you want to change it in the app drawer too you can use apk manager to extract each apk you want to change. Swap out the icon in the res/drawables, zip it back up and sign it again.

What is the correct size of the png icons that would most likely resemble the iphone icons?
I feel like alot of icons I find online are too small.

well the default samsung messaging, gallery, video and so forth are 72x72 but I guess smaller icons would work too, even if they are a bit grainy.
Edit: The iphone icons in the above website are 120x120 so they are higher resolution than our default ones. I tested it by swapping out the calculator icon in TouchWizCalculator.apk in system/app. It works nicely.
I want some mew backgrounds for the S memo app but have had no luck searching for any. A transparent background would be ideal. Any idea of how to implement this or a note app that supports transparent PNG files?
Over pulled the S memo app and will decompile it shortly to find the backgrounds. It doesn't seem to save them elsewhere on the SD card. However I'm unsure how to go about making a transparent image.
A white image with an opacity too it, then saved as a .png.. Give me some dimensions when you pull the backgrounds and I'll throw a few different variations your way.

Ok, it looks like they have the background as 3 or 4 parts. I'm not certain but I think that is how it'll have to be changed.

edit. I could post the entire drawables folder if you'd like instead.
Got em, curious as to why there's multiple of the same image though. Will you be on for awhile? Would love to have this myself.

Yeah, I'll be up for a bit. I'll upload the drawable folders now

Here's the 4 you dropboxed, Solid white for the toolbar and opacity through the body (75%, might need to be adjusted).

that one is cool. I'm planning on using a completely transparent background so I can mod a FancyWidgets clock skin with the numbers will be in my handwriting. I'll recompile and install once I get done with this nandroid
Wow, that's personalization to the max. Are you compiling a truetype of 1-9 or what? However you do it, please share. That'd be an awesome guide.
I intend on just replacing the 0-9.png files in the skin I'm using. If it works out I'll post it here with some screenies. Can you go ahead and make one with 100% transparency?
It's not working. I'll try using the other one you made with Andy and see if I can see the difference then.
edit. Nothing. I'm thinking that the images are used in a different way to make the backgrounds. I'll look into it more and see if I can come up with the answer.
The android one won't work. I believe uploading a png as an attachment on XDA will automatically render it as a jpg. If you figure out which files to revise let me know.
S Memo Background
Regarding color schemes, i believe dark colored notes like the one used in S Planner in handwriting mode will be energy efficient for amoled screen devices and will also look great and elegant on any screen (like when you put it as a widget in the homescreen). I think the handwriting screen in s memo uses a dark gray background with light gray gridlines and an aqua blue font/handwriting lines. This makes it look great and unobstrusive.
Just a suggestion.
Not sure if you guys are already doing this, but you have edit the .9.png files in the drawable landscape and portrait xhdpi folders You cannot just overwrite a .9 png with a standard png or it will not work. I suggest googling how to edit .9 png files as I'm sure someone out there can explain it better than I can.

Heey guys last week I made my own uccw clock and I really like it.
I thought it looked great on nova launcher. it looks almost the same as this clock only you have another weather icon and the font is bit smaller but feel free to edit everything !
http://mycolorscreen.com/2013/05/29/clean-white-minimal-sense-like/
download the file attached in this post after you have downloaded put uccw clock skin.uzip in the uccwoutput folder on your phone. now go back to your homescreen then add a widget choose uccw. tab uzip scroll down to uccwoutput and choose uccw clock skin.uzip
tadaa now you have it
sorry i had now idea how to give it to you guys thanks to @nightwalkerkg i maked it work the file is now an .zip so extract it to uccwouput folder then the clock should work !!!
Nice,i plan to start making them,do you have any tutorial i could use ?
Great work.
I couldn't find the uzip file I did found a. uccw file which I renamed to. Uzip using es file explorer but just got a fc of uccw and a blank white widget any help
There is no uzip, just extract the files from the zip into the UltimateCustomClockWidget folder on sdcard. I don't think they go into uccwOutput folder. I will test it now to see.
EDIT: I am gettin skin deleted error. I will check what is going on. @NigelDX if you have this skin on your phone, open it in uccw, click on save and then save as uzip and upload that.
Also you can use this tutorial to make apk out of the skin.
Sorry guys if im right it works now ! let me know.
EDIT: if you are planning on using it for nova launcher the best look you get when you put width margin of medium and height margin on none

I've been working on this theme for a while now, I keep running into issues, but for the most part I've been able to do what I need to do. I'm still tweaking things here and there but will make sure to update with the zip folder containing the theme. The notification bar is hidden and can be pulled down by swiping down or clicking the icon on the top. The app drawer can be brought up from the icon along the center of the bottom.
Any comments are always helpful, let me know what you guys like and don't like. Loving this app so far!

fine looking theme m8
Looks awesome! The only thing I didn't see in the screenshots was the app drawer icon. If you could squeeze that somewhere and publish already - that'd be great. I'd love to install it and see how it handles.
Thanks guys, the theme's complete and I've sent it to MCS. Hopefully we'll see it on their homepage soon.
The app drawer is accessed by the icon that is at the center of the bottom.
I'll publish this for you guys when I get home!
Yay

Download the zip folder and place it into your SD card under the MyColorScreen>Themer>Exported directory. You'll then be able to select it from clicking Browse Themes>Exported Themes.

Thanks for that. So, all the different "themes" shown on the mycolorscreen website...do those all need to be replicated manually? Or is there a zip file for each one of those?

That depends on if that person set it up using themer or not. I've seen a lot that use nova launcher and a few other widget programs so I believe those have to be replicated manually. That's the nice thing about themer, put the zip folder on your phone and it works right away.

Works for me! Good job! One thing though...on the main screen, the three icons for camera, calendar and Chrome don't work. It brings up the playstore with "retry" on it. I have all those installed. How do I change what app they are pointing to?

I literally just made a shortcut to the Camera, Calender and Browser and changed the icon. I'm sure the icons are in the zip folder so you could always delete the shortcuts, add them again with your shortcuts and change the icon. It works correctly on my phone surprisingly
Wow amazing work!!!!
What I would recommend is that you can use holo looks ...Everyone likes holo looks !! black doesn't suit this type of setup.try using transparent glass background(I mean kinda like a tinted glass or a semitransparent glass)
Something like this
