[q] ice cream sunday help - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hiii, does ne1 know how to change screen animations in ics final???or its unchangable???

I don't think they're changeable. Since they replace the regular system animations, there isn't an option to change them up.

If you want, you can use UOT Kitchen (Google it) and change it manually. Make a backup first.

[Q] Multiple Anim folders in Framework res.apk

Prior to the .435 update, there was only one anim folder in the framework res.apk. Now there are 3-4. I had been using an old custom transition with fly in, and a window slide behind the new one. I really liked it. I can't seem to get all the transitions when I copy the old anim folder to replace the new one. I tried deleting the extras but the slide doesn't seem to work. Where should I place the anim folder files to get all the old transitions I was using? They were from xperiax10iuser's 1.2 from maybe back in September 2010. Didn't know whether to post this in themes or FAQ. Sry if spamming.

[Q] Manually copy appdrawerIcon-replacements on ICS (rootrd tab)

Hi there,
is there any way to copy Icons onto my 4.0.3-tablet manually, to replace all those appdrawer icons? Like ADW Launcher applying a theme... but without coding and using the sdk...
thx

Custom Icons

I have started playing with custom icons recently an was curious, where can one find the stock icon.png file? I have a lot of apps on my phone like DrexelOne (for my college) which no one has made customs of, because of this I need the stock image to use as a base for my custom one. Other unpacking the .apk and removing the the icon.png is there a way to reach these?
Thanks ahead of time, I think this will help many more rookies than just me!

Click to collapse
Are you asking where that default icon is that only shows up when the app has no specified icon? That would be either in framework.res or com.htc.resources. Both of those apks are in /system/framework.
No I'm asking in general is there a way to take an application's icon and use it as the base for a custom one? For example: Can I somehow get the SuperUser icon .pgn file so that I can take it into paint and edit it, then use ApexLauncher to edit the icon shown on my home screen?
Maybe I'm simplifying the steps to much, but can't you make 72x72pixel .pgn and use ApexLauncher to to make that new icon the icon the shows up?

[Q] How to make a flashable zip of screenlock

Hey,
I want to replace my stock screenlock on CM7 to Widgetlocker.
I've read multiple topics, but I haven't find what i want to.
I know that I have to make a flashable zip and install it under the recovery.
But for Gods sake, I don't know how to make this flashable zip with Widgetlocker.
Anybody?
Not entirely sure what it is you are looking to do that requires you to have a flash-able zip,
But for widgetlocker to work all you need to do is install it from market or where ever then disable your lock screen (Original) will be in Settings>Security (something along those lines) then to your application drawer open widgetlocker and set your desired lock screen, if you are downloading extra lock screens simply mount your SDCard and place the .wltheme.zip files you download in SDCard>Data>Widgetlocker un-mount and open up widgetlocker again and choose your theme
I want to completly remove the stock lockscreen from Android and it that place move the Widgetlocker.
Just do what i have mentioned above and disable it, just noticed you are using cm7, you can do this in..
Settings>Cyanogen Mod>Tablet Tweaks>Disable Lock Screen
I do not know of any other way unless it can be done by taking apart settings.apk or cyanogen mod.apk (if their is such a thing) on a desktop computer and removing the necessary code and then copying it back over to your phone, but that is way beyond my level of knowledge.

Change pattern lock dots?

Hello,
I own a ZTE Crescent- Rooted/CWM recovery running CM7.
I was messing around with using CM9 and I like it but it isn't up for the kind of usage I'd like to use it for so I went back to CM7. One thing I really liked about CM9 was the pattern lock dots- On ICS they are a lot thinner and look slicker, whilst on GB they are thick and bulky and I dislike them.
So my question is; Would it be possible to flash a zip in CWM to change the pattern lock dots on my device? Or any other method?
Thanks,
Curtis.
It's certainly possible. You need to edit framework-res.apk. Within the apk, the images you want to edit I think are in /res/drawable-hdpi/(possibly in other drawable-XXXX folders as well). You need to edit/replace the following files I believe:
btn_code_lock_default.png
btn_code_lock_touched.png
indicator_code_lock_drag_direction_green_up.png
indicator_code_lock_drag_direction_red_up.png
indicator_code_lock_point_area_default.png
indicator_code_lock_point_area_green.png
indicator_code_lock_point_area_red.png
Not completely sure, you might be able to do it fairly easily with UOT Kitchen: http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/ (I can't check now as the kitchen is full, so I'm not sure if it supports theming the unlock pattern or not). If not, you can use apktool to unpack the APK, then edit the images you want changed, then repack it with apktool.
The other option is to use MetaMorph. It's an app you install on your phone for theming. Then download a lock pattern theme like this one: http://droidpirate.com/2011/01/15/metamorph-lock-pattern-liberty/, unzip it and replace the images inside with your own, then re-zip and use MetaMorph to install it. (Probably simpler than using apktool to manually edit the APK).
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it!
I've gone with the metamorph option, seems much easier to do and I've used it once or twice in the past so I have a general idea on how to use it!
Thanks again
I couldn't find a theme for what I wanted- None even came close for Metamorph, so I decided to try and make my own. Unfortunately; I'm now stuck.
I copied the files you mentioned from the CM9 rom to the CM7 framework apk. I have the original CM7 framework app with the new icons in and a zip version of the framework with the files also in there. Now what should I do?
If anyone with more experience wants to take over then here are the files.
APK:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5IQUxhoTn2XVVJiek01OGRNek0
ZIP:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5IQUxhoTn2XWnRGVDhIdzRsa0k
I'd say the easiest way is to grab the metamorph theme I linked above, unzip it and replace the images inside with the ones you took from CM9. Then zip it back up and install using metamorph.
Trying it now, phone has just rebooted, time to check lock screen.
Edit-
Nothing has changed.
Hmm. I have no idea then, sorry.
