Hello to all you guys! I recently purchase a mini for my girlfriend and a mini pro for me, but I realized that the network reception 2g-3g of pro is very poor compared to the normal mini.
Now I would ask, if there is the possibility to increase the reception?
thanks and sorry for my poor english!
Edit: Sorry wrong section, I had to post in general.
Strange... Try to tape *#*#4636#*#*, enter "Phone information" and change NetworkType. Maybe other value will fix this
I tried many values but nothing changes.
in many reviews I've read that the mini pro, has just the fault of poor reception.
some reviewers advised SE to update the radio firmware .... there would be a way to do it manually? act in some way on the system?

There is nothing like that
Just update your mini pro to 2.3.4 latest one and enjoy new features and also to get more performance. Then network problem will get solved after this update
If you only want to use 3G then use WCDMA (It will give you poor network at high speed internet) or for only 2G use GSM networks (When you choose GSM network you will get strong signals at low rate of speed of internet)
Or use WCDMA Preferred/GSM network to use both 3G/2G
This signal depends on carrier network you use,i never did get such error cause i use BSNL in my country
For this go to
Settings - Wireless & Networks - Mobile Network - Network Mode and choose the one you prefer...
I tried to compare my old x10 mini(2.3.7), new mini and two new mini pro(2.3.4) all whit same provider (Wind italy)...but nothing!
The x10 mini and new mini have good reception, but both mini pro....very very poor.
Sorry for my english

I have had my phone for over a year now but 3G coverage is so bad , most of the time im on 2g (o2-uk) very rarely does it say 3g o2-uk. it takes ages to get a page due to the fact i keep getting page not found errors.
i rang o2 today and was told to hard reset phone , to update latests updates (both which have been done) and no difference.
i have a 3g sim.
it appears that when it switches to 3g it gets no signal altho i may be wrong
could anyone suggest any tips / tricks to make 3g mode work
Ok I had a similar issue with my O2 reception and the only way I found that helped was to disable HSDPA/HSUPA, I now mainly have a good 3G signal.

Hi, As the title said it, i have a problem with my phone, i don't think that's my sim card , but my phone doesn't want to switch in 3G, he is always in HSDPA or something like that. Can you help me ? I'm running Hydrogen-ics with base LPQ and kernel netchip 1.2
Thank's !
HSDPA is 3G
So why before le sign 3G was here and not here ? Now he is on Edge and he should be in HSDPA...
I have no idea what you're talking about. You started off by saying your phone won't switch to 3G, but is using HSDPA, and now you're saying it won't use HSDPA and is stuck on Edge? Make up your mind.
Sorry, that's was a mistake of me. I looked the differences between HSDPA and 3G, and i saw that HSDPA was more faster than 3G ... I'm really a noob x) But thank's for your answer, and sorry about my bad english, i'm french !
Thank's !

HSDPA is a form of 3G. Sometimes called as 3.5G as it is faster than 3G.. So you can't change to 3G(UMTS)
ro.ril.hsxpa=0 build.prop tweak don't work for me

HSDPA/UPA is much better than 3G/UMTS ..
and i think that 3G and H shared the same ....bandwidth ..or H is high a little ..
I Have small problem from around 3 weeks my Redmi 3 Pro don't see any of 3G network if I'm login to network than only 2G or 4G.
Sound very bizarre a specially that most people have problems to set 4G on there phone.
when I try to search for network manually I can see all 4G and 2G only no 3G
I have not found any similar problem on any forum.
Any help / advice?
you are on wrong section sir, you should ask on Q/A section
answer : maybe its hardware related problem, try with other sim card or other provider that only have 3g connection on your area
It's not a bug I think, It rarely shows 3G to me either, only H/H+ which I think it's 3G or "3G+"

Have you checked your APN settings at all? You can check to see if they have changed compared to the Find X5 Pro...

Hello, i have the same problem. I am in central London, with BT 5G or 4G and I never have more than 2 lines. I have also tried everything: repair the software, put the manual mode of network selection, it's the same. I think that the Xperia in general already have a small antenna because the same thing happens to me with my Xperia 5.
Btw signal bar mean nothing, they are just a graphic representation. What you need is to check the signal intensity in numbers and compare that to other phones, the bar are just trash.
Also i found pretty much every china brand phone to work better, and that's becouse the EU regulation about radiofrequency, they pretty much ignore those limits.
I bought Wi fi router from San marino and USA becouse they have lower restricted policy. The same model bought in europe suffer way more the wall inside the house
