I live in germany, but I prefer to have my phone in english language. Therefore I have set the locale to "en_DE". But there are some applications, I would like to run in german language (like NAVIGON navigation for family members..). I think the solution would be a shortcut or bash startscript with something like "LC_LANG or LC_ALL=de_DE /mnt/sd/NAVIGON/navigonstart"...
Can somebody tell me what I have to do?

do you want other locales or do you want to type in another language? as far as i know, which isnt much, unless the app supports the language in its display it will be in english, or the native language its written in.
I want to type in more languages,translate to other languages!
Example:
I have the Wuzhenhua_Player_4.1_EN.apk installed at my Hero.
Someone has added english language to this app,original it`s only
support chines language!

Uhh,,, weird question, but can anyone please give me an easy way to change the language settings in Motorola media link? Its set up for Japanese on my PC and I cant understand the options to choose from to change the settings.

Check your computers language settings, it's likely pulling from your current locale.

I remember sometime in 2009, when google navigation was restrict to US, some people used to Hack it to make it work outside the US...
Nowadays, Voice Action is restrict in english... The app is there.. if I change my locale settings to English US, it works... But when I set it back to portuguese, it only works in search mode...
I was then wondering if it was possible to hack it to make it work in other languages, since it can already recognize speech pretty well in portuguese...

I have my language set to English but when I bring up S-voice it show it to me in French. I tried changing the language to french, then back to english but it still shows french. Can some one help? What do I need to do? Factory default maybe? I love the phone but this is crazy. Any help would be great!!!! Thanks.

I figured it out. If you go into manage apps and scroll down to s-voice, you can clear the data. This will allow S-voice to default to your appropriate language. I bought this phone from some international whole sale company. It must have been used or at least set to French language and then defaulted back. Some how the S-Voice was stuck on French language. Hope this helps someone else out.

You certainly helped me buddy. Thanks. I just got S3 after no smart phones for over a year. I love this thing, but really was frustrated with French instruction for S-Voice. i was wondering if someone with root could try changing the native language on the phone to Korean using an app from the app store. I would really like to get this phone for my dad but he only reads korean.
