Every time I receive a picture in an MMS I get another message from "Anonymous" no subject. I open it and it say "message not found" I receive the message multiple times until I delete the original message. This happens in the stock messaging app and in Chomp. Uninstalled Chomp and it still happens on stock.
happens in miui on go sms too

ok first off there are like 5 of these threads open. you should seriously look around b4 posting an exact copy of a thread on the same page list! common quit being so lazy this is how these fourms become so congested and its hard to find anything at all.
This topic seems highly discussed.. please search before posting in the future.

Every time I receive an MMS, a new message thread is created with "Online Album" as the recipient. When opening the thread, all I see is the text "Message not found".
Is there a way to disable this? I have no idea what made it start happening, but it's annoying to have to delete this thread every single time I get an MMS from someone.
anyone have any idea? I'm sorry it's just something I'm at my wit's end with.
I don't know how to fix this but I can tell you that it happened to me today. I was testing sending a picture to myself from computer to phone and got the message. I then took same picture and decreased the size/resolution and then had no problem, straight to phone. So it has something to do with message/picture size restrictions. Where is this on line album???!
This happens to me almost every time I get an MMS. And the contact info is always one of my contacts and never the same person, however it says "To Online Album"
Is there a copy of my MMS messages on the internet somewhere? If so, cool. However I would like to know where it is.
I get this from time to time when my wife sends me pics from her 3gs... i think it probably does have to. Do with the size

Sometimes this happens when you try to send at the same time a message is being received. That could be your issue.
Yep mine do that too sometimes... If I go back in it normally fixes it. Seems to happen when I go to the text through the notification bar.

Try using Handcent instead. I was having the same problem and decided to use Handcent and turn off the stock messaging app. My experience is that the stock app is glitchy.

Seems to happen if you are using the notification bar or widget. Going directly to the messages does not exhibit the problem... at least for me.
My stock messaging app too seems a bit slow to update the unread count. This applies to the actual messaging app as well as the widget.
i can be in the app, read and reply, back out to the main level that shows all messages, and it will show the message as unread even though i replied to it.
Definately odd. I can get rid of it by going into the message, then scrolling down.
Thanks guys I wasn't sure if it was just my phone or all. Sounds like all. I like the sense 3.0 messaging app enough though to just deal with it, I don't like handcent.

Whenever I try to compose a new text message and I try to enter the recipient from my address book, or when I actually send the message, or open a text message thread...there is a lag of about 30-40 seconds. I used to have no limit on the amount of texts per thread, but I have took it down to 200 and I still get this lag. Why is this?
I'm stock by the way on the latest software update.
Sorry if this thread is a duplicate, I tried searching.
BTW I use mighty text and I have most of my contacts facebook linked.
so I take it that it's normal for a text message thread, no matter how long it is(10 messages or 200) to take half a minute to load....ok.

I think this is the same problem I'm experiencing ... Happens with my contacts too. Check out a thread called log all of a sudden ... There were a few responses but no solution

I'm talking about the stock message app. Mighty Text is an app that allows you to texts from your phone using your laptop.
Hey I tried googling to get an answer, but couldnt find anything concrete, so figured I'd ask the wise people here.
1) Pretty much everytime I get a MMS from an Iphone user, it shows as multiedia message, opposed to a snippet of the message when im in the main all messages area. Is there anyway to get this to show the actual message vs the "mutimedia message" text?
2) Currently running MeanBean, but is there anyway to see all recipients of a group message. Anytime a group message is sent, I can only reply back to the main sender, and not to the whole group. Other members of the group can send me message as part of the chain. At the moment appears that it's only ihpone people. I believe I read this is a draw-back of sense, but couldnt find any concrete info.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
What app are you using? I use Handcent and the group messaging works fine once I corrected the settings. I also hear Go SMS works well too. I still don't get the sneak peak of the message from iphone users but everything else works.
Go SMS works better for me than the stock message app

I don't have a note 2 right now, but probably will soon. I have a couple of questions about the recent update. When I had the note 2 a few months back, I had something that bothered me about messaging that I wanted to find out was changed or not.
When receiving a picture message with text included in the same message, does it still show a slide show or does it now allow you to view the photo without saving it and going to the gallery to see it?
When sending and receiving group text messages, does it allow you to view all sent and received messages from everyone included in the group within the same thread, or do the messages come in sorted under the individual contact's name even if they're in your group message?

It still appears as a slideshow, it did that on my S3 and RAZR MAXX as well.
As for the group messaging I want to say it all shows up under one tab together but I may be wrong as I have only use it once.
Why is this not posted in Q&A?

I've recently noticed the slide-show thing too. Is there another messaging thingy we can install to get rid of that annoying problem? I saw that someone posted the ASOP one - does that fix this ??
