I upgraded my YP-G70 (EW) to GB from androidtablets.net/forum/android-tablet-hacking/25778-upgrade-your-samsung-galaxy-wifi-5-0-gingerbread.html
and found that the version is XEKP2 (2.3.5). However, most people flashed XXKPF verion. I suffered poor wifi reception after this upgrade (only 2 bar even a meter from router). This is much worse than Froyo. Don't know if it is worth to flash to XXKPF version? Any people on XXKPF version can give a comment? Other problems i.e.vibrate, home screen rotate, wifi not turn off after screen lock etc., I think is common for GB (but not bother me too much)
Hello,
I also upgrade to Gingerbread and the sign of the weak wifi works.
thanks
Besides weak wifi , do you see the difference between froyo's Soundalive where there are equalizer control ? in Froyo, there are the 7 band equalizer control in User 1 and 2 and you can select "3D&Bass, Concert Hall, Clarity & Upscaler" .. the Gingerbread one seems inferior
I heard someone mentioned that the weak wifi signal could be solved by assigning a static IP address. After that you can remove it and it will still be good.

No, equalizer control is not in GB unless somebody can build in a custom ROM.
static IP address can fix those frequently drop connection problem, but not with solid connection by weak signal reception. Waiting for better custom ROM...

It seems common sense that the RADIO ROM is not the best ...
The RADIO´s which can be used are also limited ....
Which RADIO works best for you ?
How can "we" improve it ?
thanks
myrin
You mean the FM radio?
My prob with it is that the basic volume level is lower than the media player and even on max it is too low in a noisy environment (e.g. tram etc.).
I would like to know if this can be fixed somehow...
the RADIO ROM
Im using the Diamond Radio by Dutty. Radio v1.00.25.08
Seems to be the best ATM (atleast for me).
Search XDA-Devs for how to flash these and to download them.
i'm not glad with this default radio rom. bluetooth and gsm were not as well as i expected.
and also gps; i have tested i-mate ultimate 9502 gps, it was great.i'm not sure that gps functionality is including radio or not but i think it could be better.
I'm using the Diamond 1.00.25.05 which worked great for me on my Diamond and seems to be as good on my TP on Tmobile in London.
I had a .25 radio, which I flashed to the .31 one. There always seems to be problems with the GPS and BT. BT drives me really crazy to be honest, in the morning, when I hop into my car, the phone connects to my Parrot CK-3100 BT HF and syncs. When I make a call, sometimes it's ok, other times the phone disconnects after I release the call. I have to reconnect manually like every 10-15 minutes. And of course, when I want to make a call in the office, near my BT enabled laptop, the phone automatically connects to the laptop in HF mode which I did not even check in the services list of both the phone and laptop! Anybody else with the same experience?
Those are radios cooked by Bepe. They are not stable on the Rapael. Try other radios for example ones made by Dutty.
Guys,
Once again I am turning to you with a problem which is driving me nuts… After several attempts (ROMs and registry settings), I simply cannot get it working. I am using Jabra BT8010 handset and I get complaints from some, but not all, people I talk to over the phone that my voice is skipping. Some fragment of the words (a letter or two) is simply missing - not heard – by my talking partner. This has also happend to me when using official or irus ROM!!
First let me say that after I installed Michy’s R4.1 ROM the things with BT has changed a bit – in positive direction. I noticed that because the Jabra connects to the phone faster then before, when phone is rebooting the BT connection sign is gone immediately, etc. This was not the case with the original ROM nor iruses ROM 0mb PP. At this point I’d would like to thank Michy for that, since the file transfer to and from Athena now works almost flawlessly as well.
Please note that I get no skipping sound in downlink direction: nor during phone call nor during streaming of music or videos - the sound quality is just great!
But the voice skipping is just frustrating. What to do? I have tried twitching several settings in registry: BitPool, MaxBitPool, Sample rate and Use Joint Stereo. But, no combination resulted in no-skipping sound. Is it Jabra? Could you suggest what to do next in order to get this working!!!
PLEASE HELP!

I don't use bluetooth headset myself, but would suggest that you try out the latest R5.1. I find R5.1 to be much better than R4.1 in the data connection, GPS, and WIFI communication, and have no problem in bluetooth file transfer. However, I recommend that you use the latest radio version 1.58.
I find my VOIP experiencing voice quality improvement as compared to R4.1 with radio 1.57.
After trying it, I'd be eager to hear if that helps.
Cheers.
eaglesteve,
Meanwhile I got my hands on Motorola HS810. Guess what: no voice skipping or distortion what so ever!! So is there something wrong with my Jabra or simply the BT or its settings are not matching to Jabra? Someone suggested to delete the Bitpool and MaxBitPool from the registry to get protocol handshake, i.e. the device negotiate for optional parameters…?
I will try R5.1 and report back.
One question though in regards to BT and file transfer since you mentioned it: the feature to make my device visible to other keeps disabling automatically. Once I set it (check) and file transfer (via moBLUe) works, but sometimes - I swear I didn't touch the settings - the file transfer (via moBLUe) does not work. When I check the feature the feature is disabled!?!?! WTF...? I am doing something wrong or...

I had the same problem with my 8010 until I went to radio 1.57 (and then 1.58, although 58 isnt as good as 57 for sound quality and the 8010). Im not using Michy but that shouldnt matter.

I use AGEPhone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402463
Using Jabra BT8040 with Athena and another cell phone,
poor performance, ocassional voice breaking and soft.
Just upgrade its firmware and monitoring.
With another simple bluetooth by Motorola H375,
no such issue, voice was clear and loud both ways.
I have tried several settings with radio 1.58 as well as 1.57 and in all cases the voice is distorted with Jabra BT8010 ;(
On the other side, using the Motorola HS810 I expirienced no problems at all at any setting i gave. Eventhough I like Jabra VERY much due to its features I will replace it...
I'm on ROM AP4, you might try that, too.

I have same expertise as you (jabra with some troubles). But if I connect this headset to a blackberry no problems and it is perfect
I have 7500/4.1(3.5) and a BT8010. I have solid connection with my blue tooth.
From your descriptions, it sounds like you have a defective 8010.

This is my second Jabra 8010. I have experienced the same problem with both!
Yesterday, I have flashed Athena to Michy's R5.1. No change.. the voice skipping is still present ;(
I decided and will replace Jabra. I have two candidates: Nokia BH-902 or Motorola SH-7x0. As said Motorola before Motorola SH810 gives very good – no distortion – voice! Will see how the Nokia behaves. Any pros and cons for each???
Thanks guys for your help.

Yes, same effect here, I'm using the Jabra 8010 also and have sometimes the same problem. From my point of view it is a jabra problem, not a ameo / athena nor a ROM problem.
After updating on radio 1.58 I have some problems with the connection to my Pioneer carraudio Sytem (used as a handsfree set) also. So I've decided to go back to 1.50, after that I will update on michyprima and check it....
Kind regards
Andreas
Hi all, I'm new to this forum, but I have learned a great deal from you guys & gals! Hail to all!
I have the same problem with my U1000 & bt8010 under Radio 1.57 & 1.5.
For me, the problem seems less noticeable if I:
1. stand / sit STILL (sigh...)
2. have more ram to the system (no big TODAY plug-ins like spbDiary)
In theory the 8010 is perfect for big dogs like the athena. (gosh i love the phonebook and the music ... even mono makes me happy ...)
Just a simple suggestion but based on what I've read on this last page with you guys changing the radio's and ROM's has anyone decided to update the Jabra BT 8010 Firmware. I've never experienced the problems you guys have it might be a last hope but why not go for it. Firmware found here:
http://uswww03.gnnetcom.com/Myjabra...=/myjabra/bt8010_control_center_na.html#step1
The software is at the bottom of the page, however you will also need to install the program to you computer to actually install the firmware. Follow the directions provied on the link, and feedbacks please.

tootallk2000,
I have been using the FW 1-40-0 for more then a year now and compared to older FWs it does not make a difference

In my post #12 I claimed I had "solid connection with my blue tooth". I spoke too soon. The first time I played music on Pocket Music I got lots of skipping.
This was also a problem discussed at length last year. I did a reg search on "priority256" and found that the decimal number was 131.
I changed it to 256 and NOW I have "solid connection with my blue tooth". I have not had a single skip in 15 minutes of playing music.
OOPS - I just got a 1/2 second skip.
on my post at #6, i also spoke too soon. when i tested skype at our office (faster dsl connection), the voice is smooth, no skipping. i guess it was just an internet connection problem.
Hello,
I have the HTC One X+ for a week now. Before I had an iPhone 3GS. The One X+ is a great phone and works on many things better than my old iPhone.
The only thing I noticed are the hickups when playing mp3 files which is really anoying me. I have tried several players and with Beats on and off but still the same.
If you use the mic to dictate text messages you here a klick when enabling and disabling the mic. This seems to be a known problem eith HTC phones.
Can this be solved via software or is it more hardware related?
Besides that if you use the UrBeats headset I have to turn of Beatsaudio on my phone otherwise the bass is way to massive. No I turned Beatsaudio off and use an equalizer. Tha's far better.
Despites it's a great phone what to do with the sound issues?
I have the same problems, Using Mortplayer (but also other players).
So far i have found that the problem only occurs near my work (eduroam wifi network), and only if the screen is turned off.
maybe it has something to do with the phone switching to a low-power mode on the CPU, which might cause problems as soon as the wifi starts requesting CPU time?
The funny thing is that if the music stutters, lifting the phone from the table solves the stutter for another couple of minutes.
Tomorrow i'll try leaving the wifi off for a while, to see if it makes a difference.
(BTW i also don't use beats audio, the bass is a bit overdone. I hope something like musicbox will become available for the one X+. I haven't yet found the time to root and mess with my brand new phone yet
So after a bit more investigation, I still suspect the Wifi. Without the wifi enabled, i've never had a hickup. Turning on high performance in the advanced wifi settings also minimizes the problem (does not fully solve it).
Also, i've only seen this behaviour on the eduroam wifi, which uses EAP TTLS settings.
Hi to all!
I've noticed very poor audio quality while streaming music over bluetooth on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro(on MIUI7 and MIUI8 too). No matter is bluetooth connected to car or BT earphones. Volume level adjustment or EQ adjustment doesn't help. It looks like low bitrate of sound - a lot of distortion of high frequencies. If I connect wired earphones - music quality is very good.
Could someone help me to fix it? Thanks.

I'm not sure that it's problem of audio driver, because as I wrote in wired earphones(or wired to car) quality of sound is very good.
Looks like problem of BT stack. I found one solution to increase sound bitrate for A2DP by editing audio_policy.conf, but unfortunately it didn't work for me.
My bt headphones work fine, (awei, bluedio), and recivers (linkz, ibt, ihome), I am on MM miui 6.8.15, try turning off any 2ghz radios (like wifi routers or switch the router to use to 5ghz only) maybe it's interference.
I'm having the same issue, using bluedio t2s, sounds like the phone loses connection for a millisecond, even though I have it in my pocket or in my hand. I've tried different Roms and kernels, but the issue persists.

Unfortunately, turning off all except BT didn't help for me...
As I understand, you use China Developer ROM, aren't you? Could you send me(or attach here) some files from your ROM? I'm interested in:
/system/etc/audio_policy.conf
/system/lib/hw/audio.a2dp.default.so
/system/lib/hw/bluetooth.default.so
Thank you!
Problem has been resolved.
I improved audio quality over BT only when I switched to Global Developer firmware & updated my phone to android 6.0.1.
Then I used patched libraries from this thread of MIUI forum .
This libs really works great on it.
Hello xda forum,
I have bought bluetooth earbuds few days ago (JBL Free X) and I have tried connect it to my Mi A3. Generally sound weren't that bad, but while listening quiet sounds, I was able to hear noises. To check which device is faulty, I have tried connect them to iPhone 7, my PC (using CSR BT 4.0 dongle) and even to my Gear S2. The first two devices hadn't any problem with giving better audio experience than Mi A3. I was unable to change bt settings in dev settings section.
Any ideas or tips?

There is an option to solve it without magisk? I don't really want to void warranty.
We are on the same boat but no we gotta wait for the fix. Hopefully android 10 update will.
Since Bluetooth degrades WiFi performance, I wonder if the reverse is also happening. Disable WiFi and location service and play audio from storage and see if that improves Bluetooth.

I think it could be an software issue, I have similar problem with pulseaudio service on my x220 with Pop_OS!. There are a lot of things refers to that OS can't (or just don't want to) set higher bitrate in selected codecs.

I have written solution here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a3/help/poor-bluetooth-audio-quality-t4014785
I found a temporary solution about bluetooth audio devices. With spotify, yt music or another app. Go into any app's equalizer settings and activate it. Than you should select fx booster. It fixed my all problems while listening music.
Any solution if you aren't rooted? All of the 'boost' apps distort the audio quite badly.
Seems a software issue to me since bluetooth max volume depends on the wireless earphones and not the phone I would assume?
Just to inform: I changed the bluetooth codec in developer settings and set all volumes on max volume level and did a restart. Rebooting and 'Forgetting' the wireless ears in the bleutooth menu and reconnecting, fixed the issue!
