[Q] mail app not receiving emails??

my girlfriends mail app is synced with her yahoo account and up untill a week ago she could recieve and send emails no problem. but now she can only send emails it says she has no mail at all, when she does, and when i send an email to her she doesn't receive it. she's running bamf remix 1.7, thank you in advance for any help at all!
Lots of us are having this issue. It's on Yahoo's end. It's affecting people slowly. Mine doesn't work but my husband's does. Something about the IMAP settings is messed up I think I read. If you go under the Thunderbolt General Forum and the Thunderbolt Help forum this has been talked about in case you want to see what others are saying. Just download the Yahoo Mail app from the market to fix.

Normally most senders have their e-mail default set up with the original e-mail text sent to them displayed below in a reply. It makes it easier to understand the reply if you can see the original text in the e-mail.
It looks like the person you sent an e-mail to has modified their e-mail program setings or just deleted your original text that was inserted in their reply. So your text is not in the reply e-mail.
You can always select Options and view Folders and read your original e-mail in the Sent or Sent Items (this folder will be dependant upon how the exchange e-mail provider has set up their system). You may have to do a refresh when in folder view to see all the folders.
It seems to be just with the ics email app,
I use touchdown also (because of this ) and I get the full email in replys ,
Just a pain , I think its Sammy based as I don't remember it on CM9

Inbox Problem

My dear friends,
I have a Hotmail as my default email App but I noticed for an unknown reason messages deletes themselves without any reason!Let say I have 50 mails but after some days some will just be missing without me deleting them. Thanks very much.
Does it only remove the messages in the hotmail app or also on you're inbox on hotmail.com?
Mine does the same but they are still on hotmail.com

deleted emails keep coming back.

AT&T Galaxy Note.
Deleted emails from one of my outlook.com accounts keep coming back.
I've read them, deleted them from phone and desktop but they keep coming back--not new ones either, the same 20 or so emails.
I have the same email on other devices but only on the note do they keep coming back.
Any suggestions?
thnx
Is there a setting for deleting the email off the server when you delete it from the phone?
The Outlook App uses POP and not IMAP. They do not get deleted from the server unless you are using IMAP. So when you delete them it is only locally and they download again when the device syncs. You will have to delete them on the server to stop them from appearing when the app sync's.

If that were so then Id have the same problem on all 3 devices as all 3 have that email account. only on the Note do they keep coming back after I delete them.
I use profimail and IMAP. There is an option to delete email on server when deleted on phone. It works just fine. This is not dependant on your phone/ROM.
The reason for your problems is not your Note.

Not quite. The issue comes in when it re-syncs. It grabs all of the mail and since it doesn't delete from the server cause it is POP and not IMAP, they download again. The other devices are not grabbing all mail, the note is. Change or settings to only get new mail and not all mail.
You will see that everything I have said about POP and iMAP are true when you read about how they operate via Google. The device is setup different.

You just said you use IMAP and delete the email from the server. You do not have the same issue cause you are not using the same setup. Yes it is the phone. Again POP does not delete email from the server and if the app is set to sync all mail from a certain time frame it will download the mail again.
Since you are using IMAP and deleting from the server you do not have this issue. Use the Outlook App which is POP, set it to sync all mail for the past 30 days and see if the results will be the same. Bet you will see deleted emails comes back.
So yes it is the device and the app used with how it is setup.

thank you everyone for your help. I think the problem was with the emails still being on the server and pushed to my device. I just deleted them from the server side and now they are gone.
thnx

i wish there was a way to get the stock android email app
does anyone have any ideas?
thanks in advance as always
Well, does the email service you're using use IMAP or POP3? If you don't know what these are, then Google it. It'll take you 30 seconds.

Check incoming settings for the account. If it's imap, then there's no option to delete from the server, if it's pop3 then you have the option to delete from server when deleting on device.
AFAIK outlook is only imap these days. But hunt for pop3 settings with Google, there may be a work around.
