I was readind today, that motorola is rolling out the update to 651.73.30 in germany. But as for right now only T-Mobile germany Customers are able to download this Rom and nobody nows when "open phone" from the retail store will follow. Is it possible that somebody provides this files? and is there a way to flash it somehow?
You can update/flash manually but not without rooting your device. Take a look in the development section.

i am rooted but i havent found the update yet here and honestly i dont know how to flash stuff on a motorala, was reading so many threads here. but some talk about rsdlite, some other about CWM, but nobody could tell me if i really can install the real CWM Recovery, which comes with rom manager...so i am confused, and better preffer to ask more questions, than one to less and brick my phone...
Dont know, but in Sweden I got the update 2 weeks before..via OTA
you need to unroot the phone to receive it though.

To update your phone with 651.73.30 you use RSDLite 5.6 (or wait for the OTA). CWM is used for installing custom roms (like "the Arctic").
but can i install the regular clockwork mod here? i was thinking it doesnt work on motorola, just bootstrap and safestrap? i am totally confused now...

How to make a system update to Gingerbread 2.3.4 > 1.43.531.3 from a rooted htc amaze
After rooting htc AMAZE to be able to modify a detail, I was surprized by not being able to update to Gingerbread 2.3.4 > 1.43.531.3 _ I saw in a T-mobile annoucement that the firmware is planing to update after January 20th to 2.3.5 needing the latest update I am trying to get. Is it possible through a rooted htc AMAZE?
this is what I found previously about this subject:

Hi all,
I got a problem about update my Amaze 4G which I brought at 5/11/11.
I had already root my phone and flash the clockworkmod recovery,
but before a few day, my phone remind my to download a system update.
When I completed download and begin to install,
my phone reboot and turn into the page follow
http://www.badongo.com/t/800/13959704
I saw a port http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297467
Which tell the update information
Android version : 2.3.4
HTC Sense version : 3.0
Software version : 1.36.531.5
Kernel version : 2.6.35.13-g19a3d1a
[email protected] #1
Build number : 1.36.531.5 CL157207 release-keys
and I check my phone information is the same as the update
So I want to ask
1) Can I update the system update by HTC after I flash the clockworkmod recovery
2) If no, how can I update my system at the future or how can I flash back the original recovery
3) Is that update in the port is the latest one
4) If I already had the latest update, why my phone will remind me to download the update
Thank a lot!

Search for the stock recovery and flash it by hboot. Then update your phone and say goodbye to root. To obtain root again you will have to install busybox and superuser.
Honestly it'll be so much easier to flash a custom rom.

I suggest reading the [Read me first] and faq section if you are not familiar with these things. and possibly do a google search on what unlocking bootloader, and rooting is...if you are unfamiliar with these things you should familiarize yourself first before doing that kind of stuff...There are a lot of good information in those pages that are stickied on top of this forum...Please read them.
you can only have one custom recovery
and like binary said flashing a custom rom is the easiest way.

well, I knew what is unlock boot-loader and rooting. that's the only two things I have done so far, but questions started emerging once I could not make a system update. now flashing a custom rom, that I don't know what it is meant to say or what it does, I only find about how to do these things. please help clarifying the meaning of those technical words to know what best to choose, except anything before rooting

Flashing a rom means putting a new operating system on your phone...basically there is the one that came from your manufacturer, which is the stock rom, and other ones made by developers here.
So I assume you have unlocked bootloader, installed custom recovery and rooted your phone correct?

I mean I have some experience in computer engineering but this is my first time getting myself into the android arena. I could try here and there and find out all without bothering you by experimentation but I am afraid of the bricking syndrome. I don't know how can I be safe from bricking the phone and what are my precautions to avoid that
I still don't know what the OP wants. Maybe I'm just too tired to understand.
Hey Yass,
In 10 words or less.
What do you want? Keep it simple.
Do you want root?
Do you want stock?
Do you want the phone back to factory defaults without root?
Do you want a certain rom?
Please help us help you.
My goal is having a rooted phone that can have system updates like before. I need the root to have the arabic/hebrew supported. pretty much I want a phone that displays and writes arabic as supported language in the firmware. I tried patches that accomplish that only on browser but not everywhere. for that I figured I had to root and with rooting I don't want to loose system updates from what it fixes and improves general usage.

Well my Hebrew and Arabic is kinda rusty so I've never bothered to look.
A lot of the times a custom rom developer will remove the extra languages such as Mandarin, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, German, Japanese, etc to save space in the rom itself since most of those counties don't even support the device. If they do then the local carriers probably don't sell it so it isn't very common. So in conclusion if the stock rom doesn't have it I would be clueless as to suggest which of our extremely limited custom roms would. So in other words I don't think there is anything that exactly fits your needs.
Even here in america lots of people need that language. there are stock roms supporting arabic but not on htc Amaze. as u said, not offered on arabic countries probably, but I know that some guys who want it there get it. and they had solutions to that problem through rooting. I can get help from them. But I am more conserened about keeping my rooted phone getting system updates while still staying rooted. Is this possible?

You CAN still get the OTA but you need the stock recovery and stock rom to install it. So basically... you can root the stock rom via superuser .zip file then flash the stock recovery back. Needless to say that when you install the next OTA you will lose root.

Next time, stop rushing and do some research first. There is no official "OTA ICS". You used a leaked unfinished build, and the wrong one at that. If you found XDA, you should've been able to find all the info you needed in the Development forum.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
You should probably Odin back to stock first. Then if you want the AT&T ICS leak, use my guide to install a ClockworkMod Recovery enabled kernel, then flash the UCLD3 leak package by Task650.
No, the OTA ICS cannot be rooted because you can't root that which DOES NOT EXIST.

I really don't know if you can name this method "secure" buy I made a 145 to 141 downgrade in my son's Atrix. If you are interested, take a look at this (spanish) post
http://www.grupoandroid.com/topic/73892-failed-to-boot-1-en-atrix-att-236-45145/#entry1110488
Best regards
I did it
My atrix 4g came with 4.5.145 ATT, i downgraded it with cruizgaray tutuorial, going back with 4.5.141 with an sbf file.
after that, the bootloader failed to boot 1.
I fixed it with de gooapk 4.0.0.2, and bang, downgraded, bootloader unlocked. ATT 4.5.141
after that i tried to go back to 4.5.145 but the goapk didn't let me update the firmware. Not important.
I rooted it with fastboot. At first, i had problems rooting it, but i realize that some program, "Moborobo" was interfering with root process.
Ive seen this message: ADB server didnt ACK.
I killed the moborobo.exe with task manager, and rooted it with no problems.
Rooted and unlocked, i installed the clockwork mod recovery, made a backup, and installed Jelly Bean, with some CM10 file, that i found in linuxmobile.org/atrix.
Now, i have an atrix with jelly bean 4.2.
There is some bugs, but i think they will keep updating and fixing bugs. :good:

And no, there is no waranty once you do this. Do it at your own risk.

I tried a factory reset but to no avail. So now I have an unrooted l9 running the primitive ics that will not install jellybean because i deleted the bloatware. How do i fix this???? Im just tired of being harangued by the ota updates and not being able to install them. Please help!!!

Download and install the 'L9RecoveryInstaller.apk'. This will install a bootstrapped version of CMW to your device. Bear in mind that this recovery is limited due to the fact that your bootloader is locked. You can get L9RecoveryInstaller here.
Use the offline KDZ method to install a prerooted CWM backup which you can find here

Thanks, I'll give it a whirl. I'll let you know if my phone explodes.
Ok, a little info on me. I have had an iPhone since 2007. I decided to buy a used G S4 to see if I would like it. So far I like it a lot but need help getting it just right.
I am trying to install custom roms on my device. I want to try CM.10 first. So far I have achieved root aaccess, and installed gooManager.
The problem is that when I install a custom recovery script so I can have a custom recovery the phone locks up. What could I be doing wrong? I am sure this has been covered a hundred times but there is so much info on here its overwhelming to someone new to android. Thanks to everyone for the great work and contributions s already made.
Try odin to flash!

I watched all of the videos. Do I have a locked boot loader? Does that keep me from installing open recovery script? If so do I need a device with an older baseband in order to root, install custom recovery, and run custom roms?
I have a SCH-I545 running 4.3 with an mk2 baseband.
Yes, your bootloader is locked and currently there is no way to unlock it. Safestrap is your only option for ROMs now. Start with reading the OP.

People have em up for sale, just look for the last three letters of the build (or baseband I suppose) to be MDK. Anything newer than that is locked down.
