Hi, did not see a solution in any theads or posts for this and could really use some help. My phone is stuck in CWM Recovery v4.0.1.4. Every time I reboot the phone or battery pull it boots right back up into CWM Recovery.
Haven't been able to use my phone for a few hours. Please help any suggestions would be great.

Nope. When I try, it completes the restore and then I reboot and its back to Recovery.

Thats weird...Id say try reflashing the recovery and if that doesnt work then flash the RUU

Just installed TWRP Recovery and tried to flash a new ROM through that and when I rebooted it opened on the start as well.
I am really stuck

Perhaps the volume button is inadvertently stuck down. This would make you boot into recovery every time. I suggest examining the volume rocker or even the internal buttons to see if it is being touched by dirt or something.

Tried looking at the volume down button and no luck.
Could this have something to do with the PG86IMG.zip file on the root of the sd card.
I removed it and thats when this started happening.

The PG86IMG.zip will either be a recovery img or splash screen...can you mount and unmount your card from recovery? Try doing that and removing the PG86IMG

Only other thing I can think is try installing the recovery img itself and then RUU and see if you can get into the rom....

Finally fixed it last night thanks to scrosler and yourself
Heres the fix in case anyone runs into this down the road
Download ruu ZIP here: http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=20
Reboot to hboot
relock the bootloader using this command "fastboot oem lock"
reboot to hboot again by pulling battery this time.
Go to recovery
Rename downloaded file to PG86IMG.zip
Mount USB storage and copy the file over
pull battery again
reboot to hboot and it will scan file and flash it.
Then unlock re-install recovery and you can go from there.

Thunderbolt on CM7 rc4 stuck in bootloop

I just flashed the CM7 rc4 from rc3 and my phone boots to the htc logo, then black screen, then restarts at the htc logo.
Now, I'm fairly new to this. Is there anyway to boot my phone back into CWR to restore my nandroid backup, or factory reset the phone? Or is there another way to solve the loop or did I just brick my phone?
EDIT: Nevermind, got it to HBoot and was able to recover.

You may have to boot into recovery and restore back to a working ROM and then try to flash CM7 again. To get into recovery, hold the volume down button and power your phone on. That will take you into the bootloader and from there you can choose to boot into recovery.
Make sure you don't have any radio files on your SD card (the PG05IMG.zip files) as the bootloader will flash them automatically if you do.

So im stuck guys.
I wiped everything (of course)
I was bout to flash a ROM in TeamWins recovery
but it didnt read it (due to scripting i guess)
So i Rebooted to flash a different recovery (CWM)
but since i wiped my system, there is nothing on my phone.
So i tried to get into recovery to nandroid (vol up +power)
But it wouldnt put in to recovery, just power on.
So i went into hboot. but cant get into fast boot cause there is an img there itll read and will only give you an option to reboot once you do (or dont flash it)
IM STUCK
Please help here
isnt it volume 'down' button?

[Q] Can't enter into recovery

Hi,
I tried to uninstall a add-on by wiping cache and dalvik and re-flashing. For some reason now I cannot enter recovery anymore. Whenever I reboot into recovery I end up in bootloader.
I have turned off fastboot.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks,
Omar.

Aren't you supposed to choose Recovery from the bootloader menu?
I tried that from bootloader as well but it keeps bringing me to bootloader.

Sounds like the recovery needs to be reinstalled.
Try reinstalling a recovery
Or you could boot into the rom and dl quick boot from the market to boot into recovery.
#Root-Hack\Mod*Always_
""Shooter on Deck""
Simply reflash your recovery.
Thanks, how do you reflash the recovery?

via fastboot
download the recovery.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery nameofyourrecovery.img
done
thanks all for your help. I was able to use flash gui img to flash the recovery and now I am able to go to recovery.
you could also try to reroot it. use the revolutionary tool (www.revolutionary.io) and when the tool finishes, it asks you to install a custom recovery, just press "y" and it will do it automatically.

Hmmm... I am having the same problem today - tried flashing a new splash screen which didn't play nice with my phone. After trying to reboot into recovery, it goes straight to hboot and wants to reflash the image. I can't get into recovery to put the stock image back in.
Any way to fix this without adb, I can't use that at work because my laptop is locked down. Ughhh... gonna be one of those days!
Anyone know of a way to fix this and get back into recovery? If not I'll wait and do it when I get home tonight.
This just happened to me. I used Superwipe before installing a ROM update. When phone rebooted it stuck at bootloader. Can not get into recovery.

I have hboot 1.3. This is still my first 3VO since July 2011. I was updating SteelROM to most recent release.

Need Help

so i just rooted my phone but everytime i try to load bootloader to install a custom rom it does not load the bottom 3 icons just blink 10 times what ever that means... do i need to reroot?
That's the simulated battery pull, hold the power button until the phone shuts off and then hold power and volume down and the phone will go to bootloader. Check settings to make sure fastboot is off. If you still can't get to bootloader, use adb. Type adb reboot bootloader or adb reboot recovery

the kernel installer may have failed, it happens once in awhile. Extract the boot.img and place it in adb folder, connect to pc and type fastboot devices first to make sure your computer can see the phone, type fastboot flash boot boot.img

problem is its nowere to be found in recovery ive looked all over in there i dont get it all i did was factory reset, and my dumb a** didnt back it up before hand and i cant reload anything into the phone from computer cause it doesnt give me access unless there is a way around
Do you have a recovery installed? If not, I believe you can put one on the root of your SD card then install in from boot loader. TWIRP works great. Then you could flash a ROM.

if you need to load a rom to sd, go to twrp. select mount and then mount storage, by default the internal storage is selected. Mount to pc, if its corrupt, you will be prompted to reformat. from there load a rom and flash again. go back to bootloader afterward and fastboot flash kernel

[Q] help thunderbolt wont install from recovery or format system

hi sorry if this is already out there been searching for 4 hours now i went to restore my rom from 4ext and it never went to the rom it just keep loading now i seen it say system is in safe mode and to format it did that and rebooted recovery now after a hour of trying i switched to cwm recovery and now it does the same i go into it and after i format or try to install the phone reboots and trys to load but no rom is on it to do that now idk if anyone can help but please if you can guide me around this problem thank you and this is my first post and first time ever stuck
Can't tell you the exact steps, but.... If you can copy a new ROM to the sd card, can you flash that in recovery? Or, you may have to go back and flash a stock RUU via hboot and re-root. Those are a couple of emergency steps I've had to do in the past.

Are you using format all except SD card in 4ext? Cwm will not format boot or system partitions.
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk 2
I did do that in 4ext and soon as it started it would reboot then try to boot up finally had to use a ruu and start all over and it worked thanks for all the help and earlier when I tryed a ruu it would fail but finally worked
