I'm looking for the MY ATT apk with widget, if someone could pull it from their Jetstream. It would be much appreciated.
I believe it was named ATT communications? I may be mistaken.
This apk shows the customer's data usage and time remaining before the data/billing cycle renews.
Thanks for your help
Edit: BMW-boy posted all ATT bloatware, which includes the ATT communication manager. Located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432854
Thread closed as far as I care.
BMW-BOY rom in my topic has that ATT data usage widget. Use that.
I am using that rom, but do not have it...?
attachements
See attached...
no widget or MyATT app...
help? :O
I try to upload it to you if I have
Thank you thank you!
same here
I am looking for this widget also... Don't want to go over for sure.... haha
NO BMW-BOY rom dont have. Try EBAUL rom or use 3G watchdog from market. It is the same.
I wish someone could pull the app =(

If you know what you’re doing, you can use dsixda’s android kitchen to pull the apk file from the stock rom.

I didn’t see anything labeled att or communications, but noticed something HtcBackgroundDataWidget, HtcDataRoamingWidget, and HtcDataStripWidget apk files in the \system\app folder.
I searched inside the backup i did with Titanium backup, for the my ATT apk,
however did not find the specific apk.
I am posting a picture of the search result in the backup folder,
maybe you can identify the missing apk.
if you find it let me know and i will upload it.
I'm supposing it is the fourth one down, com.m.ATT
I will try it if you can post that one. Thanks !

It's the my ATT app, it tells you how much data you have training on your data plan. I don't know the apk name. Just the app name.

Hey guys.
I've gotten many PMs and replies on here asking how to get everything working on our Evo 3Ds on MetroPCS.
Here is how I got everything working on two Evo 3Ds on MetroPCS. I didn't come up with any of this information, I just put different files and guides together and it works for me. Hopefully it will work for you.
PROVISIONING
First start by following bloodykiller86's Provisioning Guide STEP BY STEP.
The settings are the same across all devices. Following the instructions on the guide (for the Evo 4G) will get you set up correctly on the Evo 3D.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD METRODROID. That rom is only for Evo 4G. After you complete step 28, come back to this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8395950&postcount=1
Now you should have voice, text and internet working.
3G SPEEDS
MetroPCS has upgraded their towers in most areas of service to include 3G coverage. If your area doesn't have it yet, it probably will get it soon enough.
You need to have PRL 3022 or newer for this to work.
So here we go,
Latest MetroPCS PRL
1. Download the file.
2. Copy PRL file to the root of your SD card.
3. Open your dialer and dial ##775# (if nothing happens, download this EPST.apk and push it to /system/app/ with permissions set to RW-R--R--).
4. Put in your MSL code (if you followed bloodykiller86's guide above it should be 000000...if not, download MSL Reader from the Market and it will give you your MSL code).
5. Click on Update PRL
6. It will take a while, but eventually it will show you the prl file that you placed on your SD card. Click on it, click on OK.
7. Now press the Menu button, and click on Commit Modifications.
8. Reboot your phone and now you will have access to 3G service if its available in your area!
NOTE: some roms do not correctly show the difference between 3G and 1X service. I used SteelH's SteelRom line of Roms and they always changed from 1X to 3G depending on my service.
MMS
This is the biggest hurdle, which very few people have successfully gotten to work. It is not a perfect solution but it works very well for us.
Download the following Zip file (not flashable):
download
Follow these instructions carefully:
1. Download and install Titanium Backup. You will also need the PRO version, so you'll need to shell out a couple of bucks if you don't already own it. It's well worth it anyways.
2. Download and install APN Backup & Restore from the Market.
3. Open APN Backup & Restore, ignore the ICS warning, and click on "Backup APNs". Exit out of APN Backup & Restore.
4. Place this folder in your SD Card.
5. Copy MetroPCS_MMS_Send_APN.xml from this folder to the APN Backup folder in the root of the SD Card.
6. Open Titanium Backup, go under Backup/Restore, and find APN Backup & Restore, press and select "Make system app."
7. Open APN Backup & Restore, ignore the ICS warning, press menu, and disable ICS check. Exit APN Backup & Restore.
8. Open APN Backup & Restore again, and now there should not be an ICS warning!
9. Click on "Delete APNs."
6. Click on Restore APNs and select "MetroPCS_MMS_Send.APN.xml".
6a. Press Ok after selecting the above.
6b. Press No when you get the message asking Yes or No.
7. Using Root Explorer or a similar app, copy the MMS.apk file from this folder to your /system/app/ folder.
7a. Make sure you are in R/W mode and click Yes to overwrite existing file if you get the message.
7b. Make sure to delete any duplicate MMS.apk or mms.apk from the /system/app directory. You should only have one Mms.apk file (notice the capitalization changes in the three files I mentioned).
7c. Make sure to delete any MMS.odex, mms.odex, or Mms.odex file in /system/app.
8. Set permissions to RW-R--R--
9. Reboot and enjoy.
Notes:
Open the Messaging app and under Settings make sure to check (enable) "SMS split".
I use Handcent to send and receive the MMS messages. Try your own messaging app, and if it doesn't work, you can always use Handcent.
As of this writing, you must not be connected to a Wi-Fi network for the messages to download or send. You can have Wi-Fi on but not be connected.
If you have a better way of getting this done please send me a message.
VOICEMAIL NOTIFICATIONS
As far as I know, and from my personal experience, the Sprint VoiceMail app does not work with MetroPCS.
I use the free app Voicemail Notifier and it has always worked reliably. It is no longer in the market, but you can
download my modded version here.
not flashable, extract to your sd card and install as a normal app.
OPTIONAL
You can now uninstall APN Backup & Restore and MSL Reader.
To send and receive 3D images, use TwinPic 3D. It will work over WiFi or over 3G.

THIS IS FOR METROPCS USER WItH EVO 3D NOT FOR SPRINT USERS!!!
This is a update.zip to fix mms on htc evo 3d. this will not flash your phone to metropcs or add your meid to metropcs. Your phone must already be flashed/programmed properly to metropcs and meid added with phone active on an account with internet working if internet does not work this will not work so be sure your phone is properly flashed/prgrammed. before flashing this zip uninstall all third party sms/mms apps some may cause problems. reboot into recovery flash appropriate zip for your software number when complete reboot to system, open messaging app, go to setting check sms split check box, mms should now work. test mms to be sure. you can now install third party sms/mms apps but if you do go into setting on the app and set sms split and set max mms size to 500k, test mms after every app u add.
This will replace your framework-res.apk so if you have a modded/themed framework-res.apk this will remove it, if anyone want to use this but keep your framework-res.apk use the doityourself(non-flashable), extract to your desktop, copy 3VOMETROPCSMMSFIXDOITYOURSELF_signed.zip and apns.xml to sdcard, then go on the market and dl ninjamorph open it go to /system/framework/framework-res when it opens it go to res/xml/apns.xml now it take you to root of your sdcard select the apns.xml from the doityourself(non-flashable).zip that you copied to sdcard a pop up will appear select yes when it is done hit the back arrow select finish project then select framework-res.apk now some more pop ups will appear select yes for each one and reboot when done it might freeze and require a battery pull. now uninstall all thirdparty sms/mms apps reboot phone to recovery and flash the 3VOMETROPCSMMSFIXDOITYOURSELF_signed.zip you placed on sdcard then reboot open messaging go to setting check sms split box and test mms it should work if all is well u can reinstall thirdparty sms/mms apps test mms after each install and go into setting on each app and check sms split and set max mms size to 500k

I remember having it on my stock backup. I've even tried the new APK restore from CWM update on TiBackup. It's possible that it is corrupt.
Would someone from stock mind posting up their "News and Weather".apk for me? Not the widget, btw, if anyone was confused.

Yeah, he removed a lot of "bloat". I didn't see anywhere stating that he deleted it. But his rom is supposed to be "stock" for the most part, so I'm wondering where it went.
The app is called Genie Widget. It is listed as removed in the first post. You can do a quick Google search and download it from anywhere.
I removed it because it was just duplicating the functionality of the Samsung news and weather widgets/apps.
I'm using a couple ICS+sense roms that are giving me some issues with the Market. A bunch of apps aren't showing up including some that I paid for. It prob has something to do w/ me going from GB to ICS 4.0.1 aka CleanRom 2.1. Anyways, before I flashed these roms I was able to see all these apps in the Market that I can't now. Can someone explain how I can trick the Market into showing every app whether they're compatible with GB/ICS or not? If I have to pull my Market.apk and edit it, let me know how to do that or if there is a Market.apk out there that I can install over the current one I already have. If there's a way for me to keep that most updated market(3.4.4) that'd be great.

I know, it sucks. Essentially I think you have to edit your build.prop. It'll be a pain to get it to work. If you can find someone that knows how to correctly edit the build.prop, I think you can get those apps. The best thing to do would be to contact the app developers and ask when they'll make their apps compatible with ICS.

2. Use root file explorer >>go to data/app folder and copy app to SD card
3.reinstall 4.0 rom and reinstall app
Editing build prop is more trouble and time than its worth.
Copy and reinstall is faster and the apps will still function...paid apps will require the install key probably...

Why do I need to flash a Rom, can't I just download a Rom, open the zip with 7zip and extract the market.apk from system/app? I thought the market apk was in system/app?
Oh and could you name a Rom I could download to get the apk I need. Also, what is the name of the market.apk? How do I remove the market from the ICS Rom and install the GB market over it so I don't have two markets installed and in my launcher?
One last thing, what do you mean paid apps will require a licencse?

Nope, not market.apk. You'll want to look in /data/app for the specific apps that are missing. /data/app is the location of all your apks downloaded from the market.
The reason we don't need to simply copy the market.apk is because your market app is working just fine. Google's servers filter based on device and rom according to the build.prop file. Because there's no official ICS rezound it doesn't know what to show you yet. Once it gets closer to release google will add the profile for ICS and everything will show properly.

gotcha, so until then there isnt a way to swap build.prop, replace the ics build.prop with GB build.prop from one of our GB roms.

Sure there is. Extract build.prop from a ROM, and swap it out just like you said. I don't know if it's going to net you the desired result, but why not give it a shot.

dont think its that simple lol
If you go the flashing back to GB method I recommend grabbing AppMonster to back up all your apps. I've been using the pro version and it's pretty cool. Now I have access to all the apps I've downloaded in the past but don't have to install them until I need/want to. It also automatically backs up apps as soon as you've downloaded them. Super easy to restore too.

DO NOT DO THIS! The reason that some of the apps are not showing up in the market is because they have not been updated to say that they work with 4.0.1. If you swap build.props you could seriously harm your device, I STRONGLY advise against it.
I just went to the market website on my computer and looked under my apps, then just installed all the ones I wanted to from there. It was a little hassle, but really only took around 10 min for about 30-40 apps I wanted.

in your opinion does it do any better/different than TB?
I've been looking into editing the build.prop file. I am hesitant to do so because all the other examples I've seen are from similar devices so very few lines are actually changing. I noticed the rezound has a crapload of lines, i'm not sure how many would be required to actually get an app showing.
Does anyone know what specific lines the Market app looks at to verify?
My problem is not that I'm trying to get an app on ICS but that I want Plants and Zombies. I understand it works on other GB's but not the rezound. Any more insight on the build.prop file would be awesome!
Back at it again. I'm a gameloft fan. Order and Chaos... I moved over to the Rez and was stymied for the longest until themusicmonkey set my feet onto the right path. viz a ve

Well, updated to CleanRom ICS edition v2.3 and tried my build.prop and my Rez wouldn't even boot... Booo!!!! So back to the drawing bored I went. Happy to say I now have a build.prop that is up and running. Issue here is not that I can't download games from the market. That's easy. Issue is, once downloaded, they won't download additional data. **shakes fist at gameloft**
So here it is, as always: I'm not responsible for any damages done to your phone by use of this file, etc..... Remember to nandroid backup!!!!
THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED TO WORK ON CLEANROM ICS 2.3
How to Use:
Open file browser of choice and go to /system/
Rename build.prop to something like build.prop.bak
Download the file and unrar it
Move the file to /system/
Rename to build.prop
Reboot
When you need to switch back, just rename the modded build.prop to something like build.prop.mod and rename build.prop.bak to build.prop and reboot.
What it does - Makes your phone appear as the Desire HD.
I am looking for 3 things.
1. Is there a way to disable video uploading? I only want to back up photos.
2. Is there a way to force dropbox to only upload when connected to a charger? I find the lack of this option in the app to be ridiculous really. I thought dropbox would be a fairly mature app by now.
3. How can I disable the uploading of the screenshot folder? I really have no need to back up these and it just clutters the camera upload folder.
I am rooted so if there is any root way to do it then do tell me. And if there is some other service that can provide me with all these features then do tell as well.
Thanks.
The first two can't really be solved, unless dropbox adds that functionality. For the third one you could try adding .nomedia file to screenshots folder and see what dropbox does about it. .nomedia file hides particular folder from being searchable by android aps like gallery and music, so it might work for dropbox too. Worth a try. You still would be able to access screenshots through file manager

That would be annoying as I share screenshots on whatsapp and facebook frequently so I'll just deal with it. Thanks for your input.

@Gambler_3: did you try the solution that @jake9891 suggested? Did the .nomedia file worked without messing things up?

Thanks for pointing out that you find a solution by using a thrid party app.
I know that app is good, but i would like to find a "workaround" with the official dropbox app.

Not possible since the official app sucks.
