Connect to secured WIFI connection? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an application that can break into locked wireless nerwork )) that would be amazing
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App

So you're essentially asking for an app that can break into (someone else's) secured wireless network, am I correct ?

Illegal here in the UK. The answer is no.
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1990/18/contents

Exactly Rizur. Illegal, immoral, just plain wrong. I asked the question to see if the OP had the nerve to clarify.
Edit - From the forum rules:
9. Don't get us in trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things that will obviously lead to legal trouble.

"Illegal, immoral, just plain wrong."
Bang on the money with that one mate!

why wouldn't you just use the 3G data that came with your phone plan? or get yourself internet connection and wifi router?

How To Check If You Have Carrier IQ, Without Rooting Your Handset

Guys,
Greetings!!
This is relatively very new app less than one day old on market, please give it a try to download and install it.
Here is the info:
App Name: Voodoo Carrier IQ Detector
Where to get it: You can download thi from the Android Market
My tests show there is nothing sort of carrier IQ thing on my rooted stock ROM.
Its been said about a dozen times that our phone does not have this.
Lol whats up with all the carrier IQ questions all of the sudden. Did some news network run something about it or something?!?

Article in this morning's edition of the Wall Street Journal. Bet that caught the eyes of a few folks (even if not the same folks are as around here...).

Yeah, when the galnetmiui thing happened threads were closed fast. But every day there is a few new threads in the General and Q&A sections. Where are the mods now?
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
When the galnet thing happened, I think Zelendel did one blanket thread search for Galnet (doesn't take much time) - if someone had created a new one it probably could've gone undetected for a bit.
Nuking existing threads using a search term takes a lot less time than whack-a-mole.
I normally don't report threads when people are lazy and don't search for breaking Rule #1, but the CIQ spam is getting out of hand....
Can someone tell me who this CIQ guy is and how does he make my phone smarter?
Wink....wink....

I wish this forum had some sort of detector that would tell you very quickly if something you're a post has been already posted.
Oh wait it does, it's called the search button you imbecile!

Security issue with Google account..

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or if anyone has any ideas about what I should do.
I recently discovered that somehow a coworker of mine company credit card, in which I have no access to, was attached to my google wallet account.. Several of my android market purchases were being charged to the card without my knowing. I talked to someone at the android Market help center, and was told that if he made a purchase with that card from an online company that uses Google checkout to process their orders, and I had logged into my account on that computer recently than the card and the account could get linked. How about could this be! Doesn't seem very secure to me. Obviously this is causing problems for me at work, and I'm having a hard time getting answers from Google. Any ideas? Thanks for reading. Feel free to pm me.

But that actually gives me an idea... hmmm.
I think I'm going to add that to the HOW TO ROOT Guides.

They do. I went through the process a couple months ago to help someone sign up. It's actually a lot more complicated than when I became a member. It required a captcha and a simple question like "Musical instrument that has several black and white keys" that you have to answer. Then you see the link to the video and a check box saying that you agree to the forum rules and that have read the video.
Unfortunately, there's no way to know if they actually read the forum rules and there is no way to verify that they actually watched the video.
Maybe we should implement a pop quiz before posting a new thread.

We have enough stickies. You can include it in your post though.
One of the main problem with stickies is that a lot of people use the XDA app to log on and search.
However most don't check the stickies tab at the top so they don't even see them when they search the forum. That's why at least 75 percent of the "noobs" post their questions that have already been answered. Seriously! Next time check to see if you notice a "Sent from my _____ using XDA App"
Hell... there's one in this very page! No offense to ebatr8 or anything I'm just proving my point that a lot of people use it. Unfortunately it's my belief that a lot of them use it as their primary source to log on. So a lot of content is missed because of it. And don't think that I don't check ip addresses! When I see someone with a stupid question I check two things:
1. Do they have a history of asking stupid questions?
2. Have they asked that stupid question multiple times?
3. Are they from another country? Sometimes the language barrier makes things difficult so I tend to have more patience.
4. I check the ISP of the person.
Now let me pick on ebatr8 just real quick. Don't take it personal or anything... but looking at your ip address you have "or.wavecable.com." What is that? Also.... I'm assuming you're using your home wireless network. So is it safe to assume that you also have a PC at home that you just don't feel like using? I'm not trying to pick on you or anything I'm just trying to see the appeal of that stupid XDA app. I use it when I have to but I would much rather have a PC. Maybe that's just me though.
That video is too funny. Thanks for sharing.
Lololol reminds of binary xD but very informative thanks

[Q] Working VPN In Syria

Hi Guys...
I'm sorry for posting here such a question but i couldn't find anything around the web to answer my question. and i'm very desperate to find an answer cause it's a matter of life or death nowadays in my country (Syria).
recently tor (orbot) and all VPN services was shut down by the government to ensure more internet censorship and i wasn't able to find any alternatives for my PC except Ultrasurf although it's not very secure. but surprisingly i found a VPN service for android called Fearless Mobility VPN Which was the only VPN service that is still working.
So my question is... what's the difference between Fearless Mobility VPN and other VPN services i.e Hotspot Shield that enabled it to work after blocking all other VPN< is it a Protocol related issue? and can you suggest other services VPN similar to Fearless Mobility or HTTPS for PC or android?
many thanx in advance for your help and my apologies to the moderators again for posting here..
regards
Bash

It's a test to see if you pay attention to your icons. Aka a new feature.. that is the VoLTE icon. Carriers are transitioning to transmitting voice over data, similar to VoIP. It's also represents, in more cases, a better quality voice connection.
.
It means you should learn the search feature of Google and that VoLTE is enabled and active.

thank you for taking the time out of your day to add nothing of substance to this conversation other than being a ridiculous troll. When you do a google search and nothing in the first page answers your question I think you're within reason to ask it on XDA in the help and how to section.

Actually I have been wondering what this wad also. I never did a search though. So thank you for asking the question I have been meaning to.
Seriously guys? Scroll through the Q&A for a couple minutes and you'll find your answer. I promise you that.
Indeed a reasonable person would always take a look at the forum before posting a question. There is a wealth of information in existing threads, often leading to an immediate answer for those who actually look.
.
That is interesting as I never see that icon on mine and I use volte.
But I am on stock software.
