[Q] Garmin Asus A50 - can we calculate the code??? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

At first, hi to everybody at this forum, i really like it.
I have a Garmin Asus A50 from T-Mobile with Android 2.1 installed. I know that it's a ****ty phone, but i bought it cuz it was cheap. I;m in Macedonia now and it doesn't work even with macedonian t-mobile sim card. I'm trying to find an unlock code for it, but still nothing, even contacted US T-mobile support and garmin support team and they don't wanna help me.
When i connect the device as a mass storage, in my garmin drive i can see a folder named "Garmin" and inside that folder there is a XML file named GarminDevice.xml and inside this file there is a lot of information like IMEI Code, Serial number and there is a tags named <Unlock><Code>......</Code></Unlock>. can this be the unlock code in encrypted form??? If it is, there must be a way to decrypt it except it's a MD5 hash code.
I uploaded the file because i know that on this forum there is a lot of experts that can realize how this works. There is a lot of data in this file and maybe something can help the guys who were trying to install a custom ROM to this device.

that is not the wrong code since u pulled that from where it says unlock in his zip. if anyone opens the same file on their phone it will be different like mine only has 3 numbers in it

The search feature is currently down...
Can anyone advise how to calculate the unlock code?
I have previoously bought 2 Garminfones and bought unlock codes for each.
I no longer own either of them, but I did buy another one (currently locked).
Here's the IMEI and unlock codes for the 2 older ones I no longer have:
IMEI: 357355030414434
Unlock Code: 04161586
IMEI: 357355030434085
Unlock Code: 30401124
Having the IMEI and a correct unlock code (they both worked!), is there anyone willing to give up the formula on how to calculate the unlock code? Or anyone know how to come up with a formula that works?
I'll check into the .xml file on my new phone to see if there's an unlock code stored in it.

No it's not.
He went into your .xml file and took the numbers as they appear from left to right in the unlock section.
The problem? The unlock code is your unlock code for the map installed on the phone and not a SIM card unlock.
I tried the same process with my current locked Garminfone and it failed.

A Possible Formula for the Garminfone

According to Spazmogen's IMEIs and unlock codes, the following formula can produce a valid unlock code. However, if the last 8 digits of your IMEI starts with 308, this formula will not work. I have not tested it on an IMEI whose last digits start with 306 or any other numbers
Focus on the last 8 digits of the IMEI and use these steps,
each one should generate a digit of the unlock pin.
1 6th number + 8th number - 8 First Number (leftmost)
2 6th number
3 2nd number - 3rd number + 7th number
4 6th number X 1.5
5 1st number - 3rd number
6 1st number + 3rd number - (4th number X 2)
7 7th number / 4
8 1st number + 3rd number - 4th number Last Number (rightmost)
NOTE: if the number is 10 or above, use the rightmost number
if the number is negative, disregard the negative and treat as positive
if the number is a decimal, round to the next number
ex. round 0.75 to 0.8 and use the 8
round 6.5 to 7
do not round 0.75 to 1
This may or may not work for you, good luck and hopefully, happy unlocking.

[Q] I have question about sim unlock. Can anyone help me please?

i brought at&t atrix from amazon.com and i get the code from website cellunlocker.net but i cannot unlock my phone. does i input my code too many time? it say network unlock unsuccesedful. how can i slove this problem?
if i flash my phone it will fix it or not.
thanks anyway.
A few questions:
1) did you double check the IMEI to ensure that is the same on the phone as the one you sent to cellunlocker.net?
2) did you ensure you typed the code correctly?
3) Did you try both codes (they end you to codes, separated by [or])
IMEI: ,Your IMEI code should be here> code: <unlock #1> [or] <unlock #2>

yes. i already do that but still not work. should i flash my phone?
i think you should double check your IMEI by pressing *#06#.
if the IMEI matches the one you sent to cellunlock.net, contact them.
if you have'nt flashed before..
it shouldnt be anything to do with flashing your phone at the moment..
Activated?
Did you activate your phone before trying to unlock?
I had a similar problem with an unlock code I bought thru cellunlock.net.
They insisted that the code was correct but it did not work. After pulling my hair out for a few days I found out that the phone had to be activated before the unlock code would do its job.

How to type p and w letters to unlock sequence

Hello!
So I already got my unlocking code for the Nokia Lumia. Fine.
But when I tried to type the sequence that I received in the e-mail with the unlocking code, I just can't introduce it!
I'm suppose to enter this:
1. Switch ON your phone without a SIM card
2. Compose #PW+CODE+7# or #PW+CODE+1#
The letter P appear after press 3 times quickly the button star ( * )
The letter W appear after press 4 times quickly the button star ( * )
The letter + appear after press 2 times quickly the button star ( * )
But I'm not able to type P nor W. Not even with the method of the button star.
Any hint?
Thanks!
C'mon, I can't believe that nobody has unblocked a Lumia before...
Does anybody know how to introduce the unblocking code? I even tried starting the phone with another's carrier sim and introducing the code that I have, but it's too long and it doesn't fit in the space given.
Please help!

Perhaps you don't have the right code, if it doesn't fit in the text box...
Hello,
I have sim-unlock my SFR Lumia and i had the same problem, then this's what i do:
Put another sim card inside and after pin code the phone will invite you to enter the unlock code; tape directly your code and tape "Call", it work for me.

I unlocked an HTC Surround and it might be the same process because it's a Windows Phoendevice, what the CSR told me was that I needed to turn off the device and insert the new sim card, once it boots it gives you a notification that it doesnt recognize the sim card and it asks you to enter the unlocking code.
It was as simple as that but not sure if on Nokia's there's a different process.

I have the same issue, received the unblock code from AT&T for my NOKIA LUMIA 900 RM-808, it has 8 digits but did not work, the code supplier told me that I have to use the following format: #pw+CODE+1# where CODE is the one sent to me 8 digits long, however, my key pad to enter the code just has numbers, someone know if I can get a alpha numeric key pad to enter the #,p,w?
Thanks

Problems Unlocking Alpha

Hello
I purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy Alpha Direct from Vodafone UK. My sim is under Orange/EE.
I purchased a NUC code from an unlocking vendor online. I entered the correct IMEI number as requested and received the code a few days later. I entered the code and received a message saying "Network request unlock unsuccessful."
Went through troubleshooting with the vendor and could not get it working. A refund was given.
I decided to Vodafone UK to have the phone unlocked direct through them as I thought maybe a dodgy code was given. I received my code yesterday, followed the instructions and again the same message appears.
I was growing tired with this so decided to take it to an independent experienced phone unlocker/repairer and explained the situation to him. I give him the code and he tried various different things and was baffled as this should be an easy process.
The phone is running android 4.4.4
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have a phone here I cannot use :crying:
Thanks in advance!
dear same thing happened to me I post a thread on this then I get no answer , but u can use this website to unlock your phone be sure will be unlocked but try to fill information that where you already purchased your phone not where you want to use OK ?
www.unlockunit.com
wish that will help you
I just unlocked note 4 from Vodafone. I got 4 unlock codes. One is for sim and the other 3 for aomesthing more deeper in the sistem Just worked with the sim unlock code. My question for you is: if you tryed 2 different ( online and Vodafone) YOU SHOULD GOT THE SAME CODE FOR SIM UNLOCK because is strictly related to your IMEI. Is that the case?
P.S. 1.On Google play is a program Note 4 unlock. I got my unlock code in 50 minutes in the day of international launch of note 4. You should try that.
2. Write with Odin a stock firmware and try again your unlock code after that
3. To enter your unlock code you have to insert an non accepted sim in your phone, power up your phone and enter the code when you are asked. Did you do that?
Try this

If your phone does not ask for the unlock code:
1. Turn on the phone with original Sim card or without Sim card
2. Enter #7465625*638*NCK/Network#
The phone is now unlocked.
If your phone does not ask for the unlock code:
1. Turn on the phone with a foreign (Unaccepted) Sim card
2. Then enter the following sequence:
#0199*Unfreeze/Defreeze#
#0111*NCK/Network#
#0121*SCK/Subprovider#
#0133*SPCK/Provider#
The phone is now unlocked.

Is there a way to unlock the Galaxy Light to use on another Carrier manualy?

I bought a sgh-t399n at a garage sale recently and quickly rooted the phone and installed TWRP Recovery and CM12 on it. I called Metro and T-Mobile ( After flashing their firmware) for the unlock code but of course they refused to give it to me. So i tried 2 or 3 different unlock by IMEI websites as well as every single unlock app and software I could find while running logcat. The best lead I've gotten was the S.G.S. Unlock Tool app. It says it found the code but the results are null. In the logcat the system denies permission saying that the app was sending request as -2 when it was 0 and that it needed "android.permission.INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS_FULL" to accsess the info. Now I'm not a Dev by any definition of the term, nor am I any kind of hacker but I have learned a good bit from these forums over the last couple of years and my gut tells me this can be done with a little patients and some help from the good folks at XDA. Any imput on the subject is greatly appreciated.
You won't be able to unlock on CM12, have to have the stock firmware and OS installed.
yeah install stock system and any code should work without issue

The unlock code must be hidden on one of the partitions of the device it's self though right? Possibly in the EFS partion? Also how would i change thepermissions of an app to allow in to interact acroo all users?
Whether or not the code is in EFS, you still can't unlock on CM.
No I understand that. It is currently on the T-Mobile stock T399 firmware flashed with odin but still could not get an unlock code . Also i would like to learn to unlock these phones for future devices.
So it is not requesting an unlock code when you have a non T-Mobile SIM card installed? How odd... It should. If not, either it's already unlocked, or something else is going on. Have you tried both the Metro and Tmo firmware? Only the newest T-Mobile and Metro phones are not supported by unlocking via code as they use the Unlock app. As far as unlocking yourself, your best bet would be to get an unlock box like z3x or Octopus if you plan on doing a lot of them. If it's just 1 every year or 2, then it wouldn't make sense. Some phones have ways to unlock via root and hacks, but not all and it is becoming less common now as more manufacturers are making the ways to unlock more difficult either via encryption or other means.
The unlock companies I tried were unable to get a code by imei. Therefore I was never able to put in a real code. I've looked in to the z3x but it is way outta my price range as I am only a novice tinker. I just figured since the code must be in the programing of the phone somewhere then it was just a matter of locating the partition and file in which it was hidden and then decoding it. Is it possible to change an apps or users permissions? If so how?

I believe the app Root explorer allows you to change permissions on items.
It does, but nothing Root Explorer can do will help you find an unlock code, unfortunately. If the phone does not ask for a code when inserting another carrier's SIM, then that's the issue that would need to be resolved before anything else.
Sorry if I've been unclear. The phone dose ask for a code when a sim from a different carrier is put in but after trying 3 unlock by IMEI companies none of them were able to generate a code by IMEI. As for the permissions issue, I have an app that claims to find the codes but only says "null" in the results column. After going through the log cat it says the app is running as user 0 but is requesting info as user -2 and that it needs the permission " INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS_FULL" to show the info. So i was hoping to learn how i grant said app that permission and see if it would show the code?

Running into the same problem only im on a non rooted system. I need a solution to get the codes needed to unlock it from T-mobile and need them without running hardware as all i have is hardware from the old days. Software would be a choice if anyone knows of anything reliable. Services I am also willing to pay for if cheap and working.

Can someone upload the software from Huawei for the unlock tool?

Every time I try to download the Huawei unlock tool from their website, it takes me to a Chinese website saying that the server is busy. I was wondering if someone has that software file floating around on their computer that they could upload on here so I can download it?

Don't bother with that unlock tool. I downloaded it and it didn't work on my PC at all. And I am not disabling my virus scanner for some 3rd party Chinese software. That burnt me in the past.
Instead get the bootloader unlock code from the official Huawei website. Follow my guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-mate2/general/guide-step-step-wind-mobile-canada-t3387490
1) Get boatloader unlock code. Its 16 characters and you must get it from Huawei. If you cannot get this code you can stop right here. Nothing online will help you and there is no way around it. Trust me, I tried.
Lucky for you Huawei make it very easy now and automated the process. Before you must email [email protected] and wait for them to reply. (from what I read.)
Now you can get it here:
https://community.gethuawei.com/developers/f/48/t/1048
Or direct link:
http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php...amp;mod=detail
I logged in with my Facebook. But you can try to create and login with your Huawei ID.
After logging in, you need to give them these information to get the bootloader unlock code:
---Product Model: MT2L03
---Product Serial Number: From the box of your phone. Or you can open up your phone case and look at the sticker on the battery for it. It is 16 characters. (The Serial Number as recorded in your phone memory is only 12 characters. It is not valid here.
---IMEI: From the box of your phone. Or you can open up your phone case and look at the sticker on the battery for it. Or type *#06# on your phone pad.
---Product ID: Type *#*#1357946#*#* on your phone pad.
After you get this code, record it somewhere and keep it safe. Huawei will only give you this code a few times before they start to seriously questioning you (from what I heard). So once you get it, expect to never be able ask for it again.
(Rooting is unnecessary. But you must unlock your bootloader, which will be done in step 5 below. )

Double check to make sure all the numbers are correct. Refresh the verification code before entering and submitting. Once you hit submit, wait patiently and do not hit submit again. It is slow and takes a while.
If they are and it still doesn't work, maybe you need to email to Huawei after all.
It seem they are updating that system. When I did it a few days ago, they never asked about if the product is a Smartphone or a Tablet.
P.S. You should remove that image containing your phone's information. This is public space and you don't want people stealing that.
