What app has been a complete waste of money? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was just thinking the other day about how much money I have wasted on apps. And there have been quite a few on my behalf...
Spb shell 3d £14.99
Goto lockscreen £2.99
Air sync for dropbox £4.99
Plus others. Lol
Is there anywhere that could tell me how much money I have spent or wasted on apps?

Check you bank account is a good start.. and or Google account

Are you married...? That would do it.

not yet!!! hence being on here!!! lol

Rom Toolbox Pro.
Utterly useless. Developer fobbed me off when I made an initial support request then left me hanging after I made a subsequent request (and hinted I might have wanted a refund) & didn't get back to me/ignored me.
A very poor experience all round

LauncherPro Plus has to be one for me!
And, iSyncr for iTunes.

i do not know if you can call this waste of money but i have purchased games and they are top games like gameloft ones when they were on offer but hardly play any of them.. Captain America, Driver and etc...Just could not help myself...But do not even play them so yeah i guess that was a waste of money.... and apps like fitness manager and so on...haha me fitness....probably i see a bargain and can not resist myself..problem is even if it is a bargain i hardly use it

HDWidgets...bought it when it was on sale(10% price sale ) Complete waste of money.

I know what you mean with the 10p sale. The gameloft games are hit and miss. Numerous adw themes. That I don't use.
Although there have been some top apps that have been well worth it.
XDA premium
Smart keyboard
Chu Chu rocket
endomondo
Soundhound

Defo with the gameloft games lol. Waste of money like modern combat 2, gangsta. Best money spent is launcher pro, root explorer and xda premium.
looks like an iphone but powered by android baby!!!!

Have none of you heard of mobilism.org? :O

Any live wallpaper actually .. I haven't found any such I kept for more than two days ..Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App

Shell 3d. It's a decent ui actually but just too expensive. The 3d effects get boring real fast.

I hate to say it, but supercurios app - Louder. I totally respect the guys work but it doesn't seem to do anything special for my device. Volume+ works much better for me, especially with the extra bass.

Well how the hell do you expect to be able to keep tabs on important things like spending and what to think or say when you won't invest in the basic wetware required?
Or are you running some flavour of trial version?

Shazam - the first app I purchased, just to learn that Soundhound does it better and free!
Slide it keyboard and HD widgets - bought them at the 10 billion app festival, and I'm not using it. but hey, worth the 10 cents!

Spb shell 3d
Slide it keyboard
Sleep talk recorder
Hd widget
Dungen defender

Never real spent enough on an app to worry to much - Sygic's maps are easily the most expensive, but no regrets there.
Bought a few that have never made it onto newer ROM installations - Better Keyboard (Swiftkey is so much better), adw launcher and a fewthemes (now on Go Launcher ex), App Folder Pro (unnecessary).
Shady, I'm loving Voodoo Louder, and hated volume +

10 cent apps

If you didnt know.. There is a sale on the market . Ever day there are 10 apps for 10 cents each.
Today there is "swipe it" and "HD widgets" on there .
They are both awesome apps and well worth the $.10
Get them before they go back to full price!
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
It's an awesome event that Google is doing! Only downside I have seen alot of "repeat" apps so to speak. This is the 3rd of 4th time I've BW on the market for $.10.
Yeah they have the ad up on the main page of the market. I have done a couple and I agree there are repeats!!
Sent from my Rezound
Ya the repeats defeat the purpose kinda.. I have purchased almost all the apps so far. Can't beat the price lol.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
yeah they keep giving us repeat apps & crap no one wants anyway.
so far the only cool thing i got was a game called Sentinel 3. freakin' addicting as hell

Does Swift Key X support a Swype-style method of input?
I really like the theming and appearance of the Swift Key X keyboard, but I've been spoiled by Swype's ease of use.
i downloaded that paper camera, its pretty slick . makes neat facebook pictures lol
They're trying hard to sell some if these lol.
Sent from a Rezound, crappie camera included.
Grabbed SlideIT keyboard and ADW Launcher Ex a few days back. Not liking SlideIT so I'm going for SwiftKey
nope, swiftkey doesn't use swiping...slideit does though but that deals over lol

Huge App Store Sale - .49 cent Games

Just a quick note: There's a big sale on Android games in the app store including heavy hitters like Dead Space, Shadowgun and Need for Speed - all for .49 cents!
Great list building at Android Central - http://www.androidcentral.com/bunch-apps-sale-today-49-cents
Definitely a nice opp to load your new Note up on games and show off what you can do with the gorgeous screen.
Here is the link for all the apps on sale:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_2012_03_06_AppsFavorites
Thanks for the link. I have most of these games on iOS and this is better than playing full price for the same game
Awesome, thanks OP. I love catching these sales on apps, especially when there are ones that little ones will like such as the TRex one.
And I just bought shadow gun yesterday!
Ahh well

Anywhere between 99 cents and up on some of them. The link I provided above takes you to the exact page in the market that lists all ups selling for this price.
Best couple bucks I've spent in a long time.
Thanks OP. Almost makes me mad to look at because I've spent close to $15 on this list in the past two weeks. Still found two to snag, though

This sale is awesome. Just in time for all us new Note owners. Bought Dead Space, mSecure, Pocket League Story and Where's My Water. Already had Osmos and World of Goo from the Humble Bundle.
Edit: Even bought the .25 cent book. Read the sample and it was ok.
I bought almost all of the apps. My CC company called to make sure they weren't fraudulent charges...

Quite a few games have gone this way, like Zenonia and Zenonia 2 were in the $3-$4 range IIRC, but Zenonia 3 was free but in order to survive, unless you do a TON of leveling up on easy stuff, you need to do in-app purchases to buy Origin of Life and such.. I wonder how overall sales go between the two models.
I played the game last night on my Nexus 7, didn't load it on the Note. Played well, although the controls feel weird to me.. And this is one of those games where the first 2-3 stages are easy then I'll get my brainz eaten repeatedly and I'll give up on it.

Nope, sold my other TWO 7" tablets (Dell Streak 7 and Nook Color) to (mostly) pay for the N7.
10" is too big IMO, 7" is perfect for recreational stuff.. Reading news, playing games, Netflix, etc..
I've also discovered that having the Nexus 7 in proximity to my Galaxy Note makes the Note have much better battery life. Weird.
Since it's a free app can someone post the apk, I can't DL it

Amazing go SMS theme!

Hey guys I made this theme
Sells at 99cents
I will be giving away 10$ paypal as soon as I reach 100 downloads to 1 xda member
Any questions lemme know: )

It is an iPhone theme, if I wanted an iPhone I would buy one.
Also it is generally avoided trying to use XDA as a test to see if people will down your app.

What Apps are YOU spending your $50 Google Play Credit On?

For those of you who took advantage of the $50 Google Play credit Samsung threw out there for purchasers of the Note 3, I thought I'd put this out there so we can all get a feel for what others deem worthy of spending $$$ (credits rather) on.
Personally I used $4.99 to buy the password manager: Safe in Cloud. Gorgeous interface, PC access and support for your passwords and an iOS app in the works for a truly cross-platform PW manager.
I'd love to have some other good ideas, this $50 is burning a hole in my (virtual) pocket.

So far, the only app I've bought that seems worthy is Lux Auto Brightness. The lowest brightness setting on my Note 3 is FAR too bright (think floodlight) and this app seems to take the backlight under the "zero percent brightness" setting which is great for the every night pitch black setting I use it in.
I also purchased Flight Vegas Sim and Modern Combat 4 but those didn't seem to be too worthy as they are just time wasters. Thank goodness for that Google Opinion Rewards app giving me some more precious Play Credit!
I am planning to rent a couple movies using the credit. Too bad we can't buy Chromecast, that'd be the best use personally.
