okay so last night i was just messing around with the app drawer when i noticed i could drag the sliding bars across the bottom around even when my finger was basically off the screen , basically touch the slide bar then slowly drag ur finger down until just above the htc symbol (where menu back ect ) then slide normally left to right , now this works with all things like this such as file browsers internet ect. this is crazy did they build a working touch screen section just for the softkeys, i believe this could open up door in development such as gestures (swiping from home to search to go to previous app or something ) possibilities are endless when you have an extra cm of touchsreen space lol anyways i just wanted to get it out there and let ppl and devs know that theres a whole area we are not rly using to the full potential and to see the types of stuff we could create from it
ill attach a photo of the extra area mine goes a lil past the htc symbol
Just confirmed this. In the app drawer, hold & press "All apps" to rearrange, then (while still pressing) slide your finger down/ across the home/menu function keys. The touch screen still responds in this area. pretty cool.
Doesn't work that well.

Interesting...I wonder if its just there for the capacitive buttons but since you started with your finger on the visual part of the display it continues to work with the GUI instead of the buttons.

Wondering if this was because they thought the Rezound could've been released with ICS, but it wasn't ready.

Mine started doing it a while back and it turned out to be my screen protector. I was using Stealth Guard protectors at the time.

Hmm, Im not using a screen protector.
Are those buttons along the bottom actually buttons, or are they just touch sensititve?
See if it tends to work better if you press it as soon as the button back lights go off.... I had to return my first vibrant because of this hardware issue.

So, whats your fav lost feature?
I know I have posted a lot of these in the tips/tricks, but its been a year.. some are old and forgotten. Could be new to people. Maybe there are new Tricks since I made that guide.

Swiping the letters to get specific artist names in songs to the music player. Swipe it while swiping it and you'll get and even more in depth search..

Hello I'm jonathan michael. And I was wondering if someone knows this app.
Description of the app:
This app needs of root access I think lolz. It has the options to turn to the next home screen by passing your hand true the phone without touching it and it don't use the front camera to be able to use this options. It also can turn the device off by passing your hand up or down left or right whatever the option you choosed, and you can do all this without touching the device or use the camera. It just like a hand motion thing. I'm hoping someone knows what's the name of this app!

Swipe your hand from right to left across the screen. Your hand must be faced sideways like you are slapping someone, where the pinky finger and side of palm is what is swiping on the screen.
P. S. There is a Q&A section for questions such as this.

Been goofing around with some stuff today, and realize that the home screen soft keys and a soft keys are used for pretty much everything else are different. The phone uses the system UI to generate the soft keys on the home screen and app drawer. Then it uses the theme soft keys to generate what it looks like for everything else. This is interesting because you could have a completely different looking home screen setup then what actually is used when navigating through the phone. Going to toy with this more

Wow. Nice find.
A nice mod in the making I guess
Yea like no need for a home button when at the launched. I'd rather have recently. Cool though.

Are you assuming this because they look different when on the home screen and app drawer? Because if you go to settings-display-front touch buttons- and disabled transparent background you'll notice that's why they are different

I've used to sets if images. One for the systemui and one for a theme. They changed. The ui has to have an xml to direct it. More digging is needed but in theory on your home screen you could have like back recents and menu and in everything else it could be normal.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
True. I did notice that when you reboot the g2 and turn it on the soft key background uses the background image from the systemui for a quick second as well
