I'm using GoLauncher and GoLocker, and sometimes the standard lock screen appears, and then after I drag that away the GoLocker lock screen comes up! I downloaded the app 'NoLock' which fixed the problem perfectly, until I restarted my phone and now the standard lock screen comes up every time I lock my phone!
Solution??
Thanks!
PS: yes, I have GoLocker set as default lock screen...

I didn't have much success with GoLocker.
Give MagicLocker a shot (free)
I actually really liked Widget Locker the best but it is a paid app
I'd also make sure I only had one installed at a time to ensure permissions you've allowed were not causing conflicts.
I have tried several apps that does that but nothing met my expectation.
I settled with the stock one.
Download a jkay theme or supported theme and choose the no lockscreen in its settings.. that's what i use and the stock lockscreen doesn't come up on start up.. or you can also try disabling lockscreen in the security settings..

Any info how to make the default froyo lockscreen in portrait ?pls advice
I had to buy WidgetLocker
Lock 2.0 will also force lockscreen to portrait.

Demo version
LockBot also uses portrait.

I played a bit with LockBot free and it works better if you use something like NoLock to turn off the phone's built-in lockscreen. I'm not using a security lock.
I like LockBot better from the few minutes I tried them out.
Edit: the free version of LockBot has no ads and has three lockscreens you can choose from. It also allows unlocking form the menu button. See attached images for Lockbot free lockscreens.
To choose a theme in the free version open Lockbot from the app tray. Tap My themes. Then hit the menu key and then playlist. In the free version you can pick from the three themes pictured in the attachments. The ones you select will rotate. Select only one if you want the same lockscreen each time.
How do u get lock 2.0 to so lock screen in full mode?

That's my current setup. I changed the backgrounds for the lockscreens to pics of my 3 year old grand kids.
LockBot works with the PowerAmp lockscreen widget, except with the direct unlock setting in PowerAmp. So when I am running PowerAmp I have to unlock twice, which is how I had it setup with the stock lockscreen.
I have widgetlocker, but it irritates me how the first time I try to wake my phone up, the stock lock screen is there and the phone immediately shuts back off. I'll try nolock when I get home, thanks for the info!
Edit: Worked like a charm.

Hi,
Widget Locker is really good however the Home Screen bypasses the security. Howevr you must use the inbuilt lock for it to work. But note, if you have a widgetlocker background for example black then when you go to unlock it you will see your homescreen background which doesnt really fit in? if you know what i mean?
LockBot Pro was really good and my preferred choice however that too bypass security. Even though it has its own Inbuilt Lock. Pressing the Home gets rid of it...apparently it say's its fixed but you can still press the Home and you're in....
---
I downloaded Lock 2.0 which has a inbuilt Lock 4 Digit Pass. Which is what I want however I can't move the slider down. ?? the background pictures shows correctly but then the slider is like half way down the screen.. does anyone have a idea how this works??
Thanks
I didn't like NoLock because the volume and camera keys bring the phone back to life.
I found Screen Mode Widget Lite overcame that problem.

never faced an issues with widgetlocker
hi guys, I'm using samsung galaxy s2 with Widgetlocker for screen locking, but everytime i reboot my phone, widgetlock requires me to unlock twice to see the home screen, i found once i reboot to the lock screen, the first time unlock screen is in tool mode(with menu button activate), then i unlock this screen, the second time unlock screen is the real unlock screen(with no button activate). i want 2 skip the first tool mode screen once i reboot, anyone can tell me how 2 do that?
I'm using WidgetLocker too, you can select the option to override the default Samsung lock at boot, however, you will still see the default Samsung lock for a few seconds when rebooting the phone, but it will go away pretty fast and WidgetLocker will replace it.

yup, i see it too, but the problem is after it overrides the default lock screen, i have to unlock twice to get to the home screen. btw, i'm using go launcher, i tried using ADWlauncher and LauncherPro, no this problem, it may caused by the launcher...
I'm using Easy-wake mode in WidgetLocker which disables default lockscreen. If you don't wanna use that just go to WidgetLocker's advanced settings and disable stock lockscreen, first option from the top
I'm getting the same problem easy wake mode doesn't help - you reboot the phone, it goes straight to widget locker as normal, then u unlock and it drops into tool mode, then u unlock from tool mode, to get to the launcher. However I have noticed that once you get to the launcher nothing displays - oh and something else, when you get to the tool mode it is only then the app requests superuser permission. Very strange.
I'm using Go Launcher Ex as well....
And something else I've noticed that after all this happens, when you deliberately go into tool mode, the menu button no longer works so I now can't get to the settings to submit a bug report
Infact I've had to uninstall and go back to the main lock screen for now until this is fixed...
I have no problem with WidgetLocker, but i gotta agree there are so many settings in it and if you don't choose them correctly WidgetLocker doesn't work the way you want. Even though i can understand English pretty well, i'm having troubles figuring out which option does what
I recommend you go in settings > manage app, delete all the widget locker data, delete widget locker, then reinstall.
With default settings, and my screen lock deactivated in settings, it behaves as expected.

Are you rooted?
hi, how to set WidgetLocker as default?
when i press the power button, i always need to unlock for 2 times. 1 time for widgetlocker, and 1 time is default screen lock..
Having the exact same issue. I am also using GoLauncher, so maybe there's the problem??
It is very frustrating as I really like this lock screen replacement.

Same here using Go Launcher that's why i use Go Lock screen now pretty slick with Sense theme even though less tweakable...
Try WL Beta 2.2.2+
Using WL 2.2.1 on rooted SG2 never had this issues so far on any firmware. At moment Im on kj3 Dutch. Search in XDA there is a beta WL came out last week or so you may want to try this.
Are there any ways to install another lockscreen but not by using apps (making them native, I don't like the way it works in widgetlocker app). I have root, CWM and so on
To be honest I want puzzle lockscreen like it was in Vibrant.

But unfortunately this is still an app superimposed to the original home screen or lock screen (which sometimes appears...)
Also the notification bar remains visible!
Original lock screen can't be actually replaced, but only hidden.

That's why I dont like those apps.
And why are there tons of lock screen in Vibrant Roms/i9000/Captivate and difficulties with i9100? What is the principal difference?

+1 on that!! I hate the lockscreen so much, I'm using AntiLock to disable it. Apps like WidgetLocker or RippleLock are no proper alternatives because they either unlock with the home key, or have 5 seconds limitation, show the Samsung lockscreen underneath and such.
Just like you, I wonder what's taking devs so long to come up with alternatives. Why is it more challenging on this phone than others?
Guys,
I'm using WidgetLocker and enabled the Root Helper option, and also disabled the default Lock Screen. (In Advanced menu) and also checked Disallow WL suspend.
With these setting the defualt screenlock is only displayed for 1-2 sec when I restart the phone. but that's all.
Previously I also encountered the problem that I had to unlock the WL and then the stock one but now only WL is running.
I don't like lock screen in widgetlocker and in gingerbread itself. I like puzzle one or the one from ripple lock, but it doesnt work properly
Im using widgetlocker and about every 10th unlock instead of showing WL, it shows the stock lockscreen. I tried No Lock, but that didnt work either. Any help would be appreciated.

There is an option in the WL to disable the stock lock screen, i used it b4. Now i have no lock screen using No lock to save some battery. It goes straight to home screen after power on/off
I use that option, it still sometimes goes to the stock lockscreen
Curious to know if this Locker actually works? ive tried go locker but it seems to randomly come up late when turning on the screen, no idea why..itl show stock lock screen but then show my go locker one a couple secs later..kinda annoying. Does this widget locker do the same?
Did you delete the htc lockscreen when you had go locker installed?
i did not, how do i do that? using Titanium?
never mind i found it thanks for the help
I've used GoLocker and Widget Locker. Widget Locker is 10x better, more smooth and it almost literally replaces the new lockscreen. it has about 10 built in lock themes that are pretty standard, including Ice Cream Sandwhich, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb.
I definitely recommend it's purchase if you're looking for a new lockscreen. It's also super-customizable.
Sometimes you do still have that delay when it switches to the lockscreen, but it's not nearly as bad as Go Locker. usually the lagged lockscreen happens if you turn the screen off then turn it on right away. If you turn the screen off and wait a couple seconds, it grabs the Widget Locker screen completely when you turn it back on.
I love Widget Locker. Bought it launch for the intro price.

And if you have root access you can enable root helper which basically makes it so there is no lag, Definetly worth it in my opinion.
