We are from china, we used CN pad.
CN pad not have google service. The only way is flash other area rom.
21 root, must 15 root install root keep OTA to 21 get root back.
But CN pad can not OTA after flash to US rom, OTA may check serial no.
Does anyone can share this file /cache/dlpkgfile? Get this file after OTA download finished before reboot, need root right.

Just to clarify:
You need a rooted user to be on update .15, download the OTA update but don't install it, navigate to /cache/ and copy over the dlpkgfile? And this is a US user you need to do this?
I'll be glad to downgrade and update again if it will actually help you out, what will this file do for you?
I actually need the .21 OTA cache file as I have an Unknown serial nuber problem with my prime and can not receive OTA updates.

So then, would that be the file I get when upgrading from .15 - .21? Because right now there is no such file in my /cache directory and I'm at .21.
The cache file is deleted after you update.

K. I'll go about downgrading later, I wonder if there's any way I could get the cache file moving from .11 to .15 or whatever again. I'll post the cache file as soon as I have it.

Glad to hear it! I suppose I could install the WW and TW firmwares and get them as well, I don't know how busy I'll be with work today so it may take a while.
CN pad upgrade 21 success and root keep OK.
All pad can not OTA (include sn problem) can use this way to make 21 root.
So, how do I install the OTA from the dlkgfile.bin?
I've put it in my cache and nothing.

for starters i dont have my prime but when i just downloaded the file i had no extension, as in get rid of the .bin in your file name, see if that works
Changing the file name to dlpkgfile does not work.
I've tried /cache/dlpkgfile.bin & /cache/dlpkgfile
Neither work
I need a version of TW or WW 15 to 21 OTA files, who can help me?
My pad is cn 15, I have OTA cn 21 download cache file ok, system alert me to reboot pad finish upgrade to cn21. I choose delay 1 day,and remove the cache file.
later I flash the official US 15 rom to my pad, the alert is still there. After put US dlpkgfile in /cache/ ,I choose the alert, and choose reboot pad, than upgrade started.
For the pad without alert, maybe "Rom manager" will help trigger start upgrade.
Rom manager have an menu "check rom for update"
Use system recovery also can flash this cache file.
I'm actually having trouble finding .15 in DE, TW, and the rest. WW and US are the only ones I've found, so I'll be trying WW soon to see if I can't get a dlpkgfile with it.

I wonder how did you find the file? Downloaded from any link or found in phone? Where it is stored after download in phone?
PS: Added as Update file in my Rom Collection Page. Thanks a lot.
EDIT: Is this a FLASHABLE ZIP? How to install?
The folders inside are as shown in screenshot attached.

The OTA update showed up in /cache. My device was notifying me of an update. I noticed the size of the update was ~24Mb so I searched for large files on my device and found it.
I was not able to extract the zip for some reason. I am glad you were able to.
We can't install this via fastboot since the zip doesn't have a "android-info.txt" file, maybe we can find out the way the phone use to install the zip to make and flash a zip for root
In terminal emulator I can't access /cache without root, can you?

I was wondering how did you get it on 10E without root, but T-Mobile 10E is rootable
Anyway I upgraded via OTA to an unrootable firmware and root is still here, but someone said that root disappear after an OTA update.
maybe with root keeper from playstore tmobile users can update to 10G, I hear that 10G (EU) firmware is better then the older.

I may try updating my wife's P769BK since she only has root for blocking adds via /etc/hosts file. She has Vudu OTA root keeper installed. Still thinking about it....

Good to know.
Anyway these updates zip can be usefull if we know how to install them.
Example: I' haven't the europe open firmware, I've got a firmware from my carrier and if I install the 10A europe (via KDZ) I can't update to 10E or 10G because the phone will find only updates from my carrier... Whit a zip I should be able to update to the europe open firmware.
Someone should grab these zips and collect them :good:
How do i install the downloaded update off my phone? Also does anyone know what changes that occurs?
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda premium
Wifi tethering fix and some sort of security fix. You will loose root!
I am wondering if voodoo root keeper would allow you to restore root after the update. If you try it let us know.
Nah im not updating then. It doesnt address anything worth my time.

Smart move
10g finally arrived OTA tmob P769 i could not cancel it had to restart and 25MB file got installed. Hope it's the last one and rootable.
Anyone have the latest OTA that i can use to flash back to stock? Right now I'm rooted but don't care whether it stays rooted or not. I've already switched phones so my tb probably won't pull in the latest ota if i flash an older ota to let it update itself.
Thanks
You can grab a rooted copy IN MY THREAD HERE.
I'm testing ffOS on my Amami, and I started getting ota update notification, but install fails after download. I went to FXP downloads page, but only link is for a file from 11/17. Is there really an update, and is there another place to get files besides FXP? Or, what am I missing? Thanks
