LG optimus C

Hey there guys I'm new to the forums but I've been using android since the G1 launched. I just got the LG optimus C and I know it's nothing powerful but it does the job and runs netflix pretty well now. Well I have it rooted now with Gingerbreak and was wondering if anyone has gotten a custom rom running on it yet?
I managed to turn swype off (big fingers dont mix with swype on this screen) and I changed the home screen, disabling the LG one. But I would really love
to get CM running on it like devs have managed to get running on the V and other optimus devices.
I apologize if this is in the incorrect area, I knew the phones were similar on a hardware level so it was the closest I knew.
Anyone had any success or suggestions?
selfless bump
Have you found a recovery program that supports it? I don't see it listed at http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/330813-all-one-recovery-thread.html
Someone claims to have gotten one going.I forget the name but it begins with an X. I know the custom optimus roms just need to be tweaked slightly for this device. Unfortunately I suck at custom roms, better at psp coding. If anyone wants to port it i'd be so grateful i'd donate.

I know that drellisdee/getitnowmarketing worked on bringing the Amon-Ra recovery to Optimus T and other Optimus flavors. You might contact him.

[Q] Is the LG Phoenix a good beginner phone?

Hi all, I am a current iPhone user and my phone is shot (battery issues and water damage) and its time to move on to something with a more open user experience (I am a engineer and love to tinker). My main question is the LG Phoenix (Optimus One?) a good beginning phone to get familiar with the Android platform? A friend has one that they used all of two months before getting an iPhone 4 and is willing to sale me the phone really really cheap.
Thank you for your time and any answers you may have for me, the help will be greatly appreciated!
Michael
Go for it, dude. You won't regret it. This is my first Android phone too (purchased in June last year) and I started to tinker with it in November. It has been smooth sailing so far. Best investment for money.
BTW, I'm an engineer too. ;-)
Thank you for the quick reply
If you're getting it for cheap, do go ahead. Just remember that it is a rather low-level phone, so glitches and lag and other such problems are to be expected. But a custom ROM should fix most, if not all, of those problems.

I advice you to buy it. Flashing a custom rom on Optimus One will speed up your phone.. and you can have Ice Cream Sandwich on it.
dude just go for O1, I'm so much happy with this device and our development is just awesome!!
One more thing I'm a future Engg!!
Thanks for the replies! I was astonished when I found this forum and why I hadn't sooner. This whole website is full of wonderful information and helpful people!
The Phoenix and O1 have different drivers. Flashing O1 roms work, with color issues, you need joban' s kernel to make it work right. Obb never had a stable rom/ kernel
Joban was the only one working on building. Now he's not.
Netflix will never work on Phoenix. CPU to slow. I've OC mine 729
I updated to 2.3.4 stock. Roming never made it better.
If you wanna neet phone to bring you into android, and it's REALLY cheap then get Phoenix.
if you want to rom and mod then get something better.

To the Dev's of the LG G2

Hey guys/devs,
I'm coming from the HTC One and the community was top. I'm not a dev and always appreciated their/your work. I'm not serious if the LG G2 could be my daily partner or if I should keep my love with the One alive. A big tip in balance is how the LG G2 is supported by it's community/devs. I know this phone is new and that I have to be patient with.
But the only thing making me sad is seeing other mods and roms rising (!) in the Verizon and AT&T section of XDA. What about the International G2 (D802)? Don't get me wrong, I would like to thank all those guys who uploaded their stuff for the D802. But for me the community keeps a phone alive. The International G2 seems not to be that much supported or do you have plans for mods and (especially) custom roms?
Thank you!

we will get there eventually, keep in mind the devs are not evil and they are just normal people like us. So if they have the choice between a subsidized phone (or branded or any word wich applies) for around 100 to 200 $ or an international version for around 5-600 $ ... i'll let the answer to you..
The international g2 is just released .. and that you doesnt see here anything doesnt mean that there is no WIP .

I like options as much as anyone but I'll have to say that the stock rom is tight. And the built in features are definately something that ppl want in a complete custom rom. We are mostly waiting for the Nexus 5 because if it is based mostly on the G2, ports will happen on every rom worth using. This phone isn't exactly open source with binaries and even great devs are struggling to reverse engineer the sound. ..to be understood though as the are only 2 phones out right now with a 24 bit DAC so other code doesn't exist to sample from. Cyanogen is in the works but like I said without knock on at the very least, devs don't want to down grade there own phone to support something that's doughy in the center.

Is there a ZIP of the INTL version. If so I will put something together for you guys.
There is lots of development going on behind the scenes. D802 has been out 8 days. I own it, I'm testing on it and I hope to be able to release ROM's for it, but it takes time.

its just math/time. 802 will probablly outnumber all other.
You have to remember a few things about the D802:
1) It is just released, so those of us with the D802 are playing catch up.
2) We love our phones, but our lives take precedent when needed.
3) The LG is not HTC or Samsung. They have legions of people because they are the most popular (IMO). That doesn't make them the best, but what it gives them is a larger group of dedicated devs.
4) Lastly, there is a lot in the works for the D802. I myself want to work on a D802 project I have been thinking about since I bought the phone, but as stated above, my life takes precedent when needed.
Wow. I have the exact same dilemma eating my mind up from the inside. I also own an HTC One and yes, the developers do absolutely love that device (it's even been featured by the official XDA editors in several videos and articles on the main XDA page). I also want to get the LG G2 especially since it has the more powerful Snapdragon 800 SoC but i keep checking back in here everyday and there is still zero ROMs for the international version (model: D802). I know that it's been barely a week since the international version was released, but comparatively, if you have a look at the other forums, especially the Galaxy Note 3 dev forum is already bustling with activity; several ROMs, scripts and whatnots. I just hope the G2 developers catch up soon and even if they take their time, i like to believe that quality is what matters! :highfive:
To the Devs of the D802. Here, a dev is answering,
My D802 hasnt arrived from shipping. the end. no cm for you and no manufacturer ports cause its taking ages.

Estimated Developers

Dear xda developers,
Regardless of your dev. device, please unite to give us a stable CM!!
Also we encourage developers already working on CM for Desire X to keep up doing!!
Dear DX users, please wait patiently, till this developing will be done!!!
If you get spare time, replay this thread by thanking all developers for all the efforts!!
it didnt happen when the device was fresh (well, there were several attemps, attis112 for the win and some other guys of course, too) and it wont happen now imho, when the device is "obsolete".
ffs i bought my dx one year ago, its not THAT old, but anyway, guess its just not good for developing stuff.
thats it.
im happy with sense5 thanks to gtrcraft and ckpv5 and thats it. thank you guys.

The I9000 has a big developer list and the DX doesn't have that, it will not happen soon if not at all
Thread closed,
Threads like this are OT threads. Developers do not like to see questions like this as they put a lot of time and effort into creating Roms.
Many thanks,

LG K20 plus general discussion and device maintenance

At the moment this is a placeholder due to lack of time, but I plan on pushing a guide like I did for the LG aristo and the LG motion.
Ideas and recommendations towards subjects is appreciated.

Honestly, I wanna push this as soon as possible. Between work and the holidays I've been pretty shot for time.
It won't be much at first since the previous guides relied a good bit on input from other users.

Honestly, our best bet would be the aristo and the aristo 2 since they're the closest phones that are also in the LG line.
The aristo has close to the exact same specs, minus the ram being topped at 1.5 gigs, and the CPU being 32 bit. Oh and no fingerprint.
The aristo 2 is a clone of the k20 minus a quarter inch on screen size.
The aristo would be good for starting off, especially since we have both 32 and 64 bit recoveries. The fingerprint can be added most likely.
