Hello, Im trying to use Orbot but my Ip doesnt change. It doesnt matter if I have Tor Everything checked or if I select apps to tor. When I start Orbot I get a warning that says "error starting transparent". (I did grant super user to Orbot)
Anything to do with an internet connection is SLOWED so greatly.
Anyone with any knowledge would be a huge help. Thank you.

What rom are you using because I am using ICS Omega and it does the same thing. It must be a problem with Orbots compatibility which is too bad.

Don’t know a whole lot about it but I read somewhere that Orbot's servers are just way slow.

from my experience with tor, it will always slow down an internet connection due to the nature of tor.
found orbot fix
What solved it was in setting first enable transparency proxy then choose your apps you want to proxy and then check off the use default iptables option and it should work.

That doesn't work for me. Still getting: "WARNING: error starting transparent proxying!" I'll see if a suggestion to use the Firefox browser with the ProxyMob addon is any more successful.
Sorry to here it did not work because my phone was doing he exact same thing so I uninstalled it but then gave it another try and it has worked since. I just played with those settings a little and it started working. I am using dolphin mini browser with success and my rom is Omega series 11.1 with latest SUCK kernal 3.0.15
Had the same issue, here is how i fixed it and have used multiple rom/kernel combinations with no issue.
Download droidwall from the market, run it one time (don't know if you have to do this but whatever)
Then I used es file explorer to navigate to
/data/data/com.googlecode.droidwall.free/app_bin/
copy iptables_armv5
now navigate to
/data/data/org.torproject.android/app_bin/
paste iptables_armv5
rename iptables to iptables.old
rename iptables_armv5 to iptables
reboot and profit.

Ive been going through the forums for quite some time now... just recently made an account since i had a little question
I followed the steps correctly (or so im pretty sure)
I now have it all set up and everything is running great! even hit over 1900 on the quadrant score.
To get to my problem: i have no mobile internet access, data access is enabled yet i remain offline and my phone wont connect to the internet.
Also i cannot log in to facebook (even with wifi) or sync gmail whatsoever or log into gmail for that matter... when i try the google play store it asks me " you must add an account to the device to continue. do you want to add one now? i press yes and then nothing happens... i try to sync my account to the phone and it wont work either.
I have tried alot of things and searched alot of forums im hoping someone can guide me.
Thanks in advance.
I have a galaxy ace and i just flashed a custom rom (cm 7.2)
Try reflashing the rom..or simply delete the accounts u already have on ur device nd make new ones...

Reflashing didnt work and its not the accounts... i tried making new ones it just wont work, im realy confused.
Try another CM7 rom....Or u cud try the CM9 rom....everything works perfect on that!(xcpt the camera)
I've had this problem on custom roms before. Depending on what the problem is there are a number of solutions.
Search the forum for these and let us know if they work:
1- Often it's a modem problem. You can just flash your region's modem trough odin. This solves call, mobile data and wifi problems if the ROM was meant for a different region (ie flashing an European ROM, since my region is Latin America and needs 850/1900 frequencys I just flash the Mexican / Brazilian modem through odin).
2- If the ROM comes with some type of add blocker, hacked host file or firewall check that its disabled the first time you access the Store, Facebook and other sync dependant apps (and make sure syncing is enabled). After that you can enable the firewall again (if possible, keep those apps as exception so they won't get blocked)
3-Make sure you got your APN settings right if mobile data is the only problem. Since it probably got erased during wipes.
Hope it helps, good luck.

Google Apps - the apps by Google that allows you to use specific system apps like Gmail or the Play Store .
Because of copyright , CM7 ROMs will not include GApps (Google Apps) .
The only way to get it is by downloading online
Ace-ing all tests.

Not sure how it happened but my date changed to jan 5, 1982. Set it and all is well again.
Thanks a lot. I fixed my problem!
You must change the thread name as "[TUT]" or etc....
Good Job man
still no working
Mybdate and time was already accurate and it was set to automatic, still I tried to reset it but It didn't work. I have tried removing google account and then logging in again, didn't work. I also tried to clear the cache and data of the play store, didn't work either... uninstalling the updates also didn't work for me, what should I do now? Help please :| I have unlocked gs3 i9300 on wifi..
2 things can be done to solve this:
#Delete all ur accounts and google play data.. Reboot ur device.. Start google play and log in again to ur id.
#if the problem startd after flashing a rom then u need to change the kernel or contact the rom developer..
Change the kernel at ur own risk.. Im nt responsible if anything screws up..

*easy step by step solution*!!!
1. CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR TIMEZONE MATCHES YOUR OWN TIMEZONE(USE NETWORK PROVIDED TIME
2. CLEAR DATA AND CACHE, FORCE STOP! BLAH BLAH BLAH...
3. REBOOT
AT FIRST THIS SOLUTION DIDN'T WORK FOR ME SO, HERE IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME
*ROOT REQUIRED*
1. DOWNLOAD ROOT EXPLORER or ROOT BROWSER
2. NAVIGATE TO A FOLDER CALLED "etc' (LOWER CASE)
3. THEN, SELECT A FILE NAMED "host"
4. DELETE THAT FILE AND REBOOT!!
5. ENJOY GOOGLE PLAY!
I DO NOT HOLD ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE, THIS IS JUST HOW I FIXED IT!!

I had my proxy changed to 'localhost', change it again to automatic and that did it for me
First Root your phone. Then download root browser or a similar root file manager.
Second, navigate to "/" folder.
Third, go to "etc" folder.
Fourth, delete the file called "localhost"
Now restart your device.(believe me you wont brick your device.)
Now! Problem fixed!
If you want you can lock boot loader and un-root.
Please thank me by clicking thanks button.

First I would recommend making sure you have a network connection either through Wifi or cellular data. If that doesn't solve the problem going into application manager and then find the Market and clear the applications cache and data. Another possible fix would be running the fix permissions utility in recovery.
well i do got connection from a wifi or cellular data, but the problem persist when i try to use a market, when i'm downloading programs over market, than the message pops out saying to check the network connection, can you explain to me how do i clear the applications data from market, and how do i run the FIX PERMISSIONS..my phone is rooted.

To clear the cache and data for the Market open settings then navigate to application manager then select the all tab find the Market then select it you should then see the option to clear data and cache. For fix permissions you can boot into recovery go under the advanced section then select the the fix permissions option.

For backing up all your apps including system apps I would recommend taking a look at Titanium Backup. Your contacts can automatically be backed up through your Google account and can then easily be restored by signing into your Google account when setting up your ROM.

You definitely do not want to restore your system apps unless you know with certainty what you're doing. Many from stock will not function properly on Cyanogen and will cause looping Force Closes and may cause issues to the point that you have to do a Data Reset.
You should back up your contacts through another app or as an xml file and restore that way.

The Universal Inbox is a part of Motorola Blur and would not be compatible with CM 7 without heavy porting. You would have to use a Motorola Blur based ROM for the Universal Inbox apk.

yesterday i realize something strange going on with my droid 2..i was not being able to connect to my wifi. i went to a settings of the phone, i wrote down my mac address of the droid, than i enter to my router login page, and what i saw is everytime when i reboot my phone, that my phone is getting new mac address, even if i got cm7 installed in the phone.does that happening to all of you, or its just happening to me, than i went to a recovery and fix the permission, so its still mac address changed,so everytime when i want to connect to wifi i would need to enter my mac address,,what do i need to do to keep just one mac address of the phone like my other deivces..

I would recommend taking a look at this fix for the MAC address issue your having it's for the Droid Pro but should work for your Droid 2 as well.
I recently upgraded to FeraLab MIUI v2.4.13 ROM and everything looks great but I can not get Wifi Hotspot/Tether not working.
Application installed on rom is Wifi Tether for Root Users: If i keep open (no encryption security) then it's visible on my laptop and I can browse as well but for some reason I can not see this Hotspot on my Samsung tablet. Has anyone experience this issue?
I tried removed the build in Wifi Tether app and re-installed from marked and tried lots of device profiles but no luck. When I select profile as Generic ICS/JB (I know this is wrong anyway) but then my tablet can see it but can not connect to the device.
I have also tried to use Barnacle Wifi but that doesn't work and it says it cannot get SU permission. I don't understand why because I get prompt to allow super user access and that appears in super user permission tab but it eventually fails complaining about the permission.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
P.S. I have locked boot loader but I don't think that should make any difference.
Try adding your wifi information on your own in your tab?

Thanks but I did try manually adding the ssid before and after re-installing the app without any luck. Hotspot conection was always appearing as "Not in range".

If you guys are still experiencing these problems, you could try Anonify: goo.gl/6KKWI2, which does full transparent proxying without root and supports .onion addresses. If your samsungs are running android < 4.3 it may not work. It's also not free, but you could test and see if it can resolve .onion addresses. If it can, then it's some other issue. Otherwise, maybe posting the full logs could help.
