Hello!
I have a question about O2 UK ROMs. I came from one of that(the latest official Kies updated version) to Ice cream sandwich, then I realised it's in alpha state, so I want to get back to it.
Which version is the best for battery life and reliability?
XWKE2 Stock
XWKF3 Stock or
XWKJ1 Stock?
Do I lose warranty if I flash any of these via Odin?
Thank you for your answers!
Kk5. 2.3.6 + no you don't.

Is it from samfirmware? Where can I find this? I guess I would need a carrier branded(O2) ROM.
Scroll down to the O2 section and yourll find XWKJ1.Download it from there. All you have to do is put it in PDA in Odin (dont select anything else) and hit start.Easy as
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
Dont worry about the kernel below.Just flash the XWKJ1 firmware.
Thanks man!! Did as you said, got FCs in the beginning, than did a wipe and now everything works like charm!

Firstly, this is a dev forum, Does it resemble absolutely anything like a Q&A or general forum or even a forum you should be creating a topic in?
Second, There is an abundance of data on how to flash, go check stickies etc. If you have flashed ICS then you can flash GB, its the exact same process.
thanks for your responses.
im from colombia, and my english is poor
restore your backup if you made one!!
wipe data/cache/dalvic/ restore
Just reboot in recovery, wipe everything. If you have a rom on your sdcard just flash it. If not use the restore method if you have a backup. Simple as that
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Install Kernel CF-Root, install rom from SDCard or Install Stock rom from ODIN
Instal stock rom first to back your modem version , then you can back your last backup

Could anyone offer me a link to a gingerbread stock rom. It might be the only way of getting my phone to work properly.
I have a UK unbranded GS2. In case it changes anything.
Thank you

Did you even go to the website he suggested? There are dozens of unbranded stock Gingerbread firmwares for the i9100 there.
Hi!
I currently have my s2 rooted and on CM9. My phone is/was the european version GT I9100. I know that region is getting the ICS update on 3/10. Can some one direct me to copies of a stock rom that will be receiving the update?
Thanks in advance!
Since you have already flsahed your phone with CM9 why not just flash the official ICS when it comes out?
Seems he want to install ics via kies

If your referring to
"(4) Customized firmware
If unofficial or customized firmware is installed in the mobile, unexpected problem can happen during upgrading"
Thats why I want to go back to stock.
They don't expect you to flash the firmware via CWM or Odin. I don't think it will be necessary to flash a stock rom first

wouldn't it be best to wait before flashing the official one through kies mate. cause you are only going to after a few days when all the custom official ones be released going to root your phone again. i was thinking the same but i am going to hold off for a while
Good luck getting official firmware updates via Kies if you're running non-stock firmware

Dear All,
I have flashed with a stock rom from below mentioned article
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Still my Samsung S2 is not recognized by Kies.
Kindly help.
Thanks
Pavan
I can think of 2 possibilities why it might not work.
-wrong CSC: find your country's CSC and change yours to match. Here and Here
your ROM must have your CSC or a Multi-CSC where your CSC is included.
-"Zombie"-ROM: A ROM patched together from different originals, e.g. a good stock kernel from one ROM with a good modem from another ROM. This shouldn't be, because you took an original from intratech's Thread. But if you want, you can also try this.
I hope this helps.
If I am Orange UK stock do I just find the UK Stock XEU and put it on?
---------- Post added at 10:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 AM ----------
At the moment I have
PDA: I9100BVKJ4
CSC I9100ORAKJ4
Would
I9100XWKE1
MULTIXEUKD1
Work ok?
It looks like you already have an ORANGE-ROM. what exactly are you trying to do? If you want to get rid of the orange branding, what you have there looks good.

Don't you feel kinda stupid after beginning a thread with an OLD question and then having to post on that thread that you found your answer within that same forum from a thread that is stickied and out there for everybody to use
Hi there, wasnt getting too much response in the Aus thread so fingers crossed someone can help. My dilemma is i have tried to root the phone and now im stuck on the opening screen...tried various kernels with no success. I dont have/ didnt check the original settings (hindsight i know)
Phone was on Gingerbread 2.3.5
Model is: 9100T - Vodaphone Australia
I can access the download screen, Odin works fine, kernels say pass/ success but my problem remains
I've searched countless threads, used just about every kernel, but unsure as to what the next step is
If anyone can shed some light on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.
did you try flashing a stock rom through odin ?

You can pick whatever firmware you want, branded or unbranded wont matter, just download the one you prefer and flash it through odin (PDA)

I wish it was that easy. I have tried them all. I've tried ICS, GB both fail on either Vodaphone or optus.

Of course, please try to just search because there are several guides to tell you how. But why not upgrade to official 4.0.4?

Sure but WHY would you wanna go back to Gingerbread?! You can just root your phone and install CyanogenMod 7.1 or a similar 2.3.4 based ROM although I really can't understand why you'd wanna do that.

You may flash any country's stock ROM. It doesn't matter. However, make sure that the ROM isn't branded. That's all. To get the roms, go to www.sammobile.com, sign up for free, and enter your phone details. Choose any country, e.g. any European unbranded firmware.

as you are running liquid smooth, you should probably have a kernel that supports triangle away. open the app and reset the flash counter to 0. then just flash a stock firmware of "your region."

you may back it up using an app "HC kTool." you may also back it up from recovery mode(only philz recovery can do that).
