I have a Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note.
Both devices wont charge in a cradle, only directly when plugged into the phone.
Could someone advise me on how to fix this problem.
Thanks

Both charging cradles were working fine.
I've inadvertently changed settings to do with USB utilities and or Kies via wi-fi while hooking it up to the TV to watch some shows.

Hi,
I bought an MHL to HDMI adapter for connecting my Samsung Galaxy S2 to TV using HDMI cable.
I connected the adapter to phone, and also connected the phone charger. Then I connected the HDMI cable to TV.
I am not getting any display on the TV, just some flicker. I tried disconnecting and connecting cables (both at phone end and at adapter (HDMI) ) but there is no difference. I even restarted the phone while the cables were connected. Still it is not working. Most videos seem to suggest that it will just work when connected.
I am using Samsung original ROM Gingerbread 2.3.6. I also tried with CheckROM V6, but results are identical. Is there anything I can try to make it work?
Please help
Sanjay

Hello, I ordered the official Samsung MHL-to-HDMI adapter for the S3/Note 2, hooked it up, and my TV is not recognizing it. I saw that there were some fakes out there, but this one seems to be official. It says Galaxy S3 on the box and the model is EPL-3FHUBEGSTD. I ordered it from Amazon, though the source of the product was a company called ExertaTech.
I hook it up to the TV, the phone says that an HDMI is connected and will allow me to view the home screen in landscape mode. The phone is also charging through the adapter. The TV is a Samsung UN46B6000VF LEDTV, which while not brand new, is only a couple of years old. The TV recognizes that the HDMI is plugged into something, but when I selected the HDMI port it says no signal. I've tried every combination of switching HDMI cables and ports, turning the phone and TV off, unplugging and replugging every part of the adapter, etc.
Anyone have a similar problem?
TV Firmware
Have you checked whether your TV has AnyNet+ ? It is a firmware that comes on new Samsung TVs...if there is no firmware like that, you should check your product's website and see if you can upgrade the firmware...so AnyNet+ comes with...i also have the cable...but I got a Sony TV...so pointless purchase...

It does have AnyNet+, which works with my Blu Ray player. The problem ended up fixing itself. Or perhaps I should say that the TV decided to work how it's supposed to. My TV is occasionally a bastard and won't recognize HDMI devices plugged in, whether it's my phone or my computer. I finally got it to recognize my computer, then hooked up the phone and it worked so huzzah! I just have to put up with a finicky TV.
I thought the adapter worked with any brand of HDTV? I know I saw a video demonstration of it being used on an LG without any issues.

Hi I believe I bought the same cord as you. Is it red? With 3 cords connected to it? Anyways I'm having the same issues as you were. I plugged my gs3 into the cord that plugs into the power source usb and the hdmi and my tv isn't recognizing my phone. But my phone says connected to hdmi. When I look at the device list on my tv it says aynet device list and my phone doesn't show up on the list. If you figured out how to fix this issue I'm having please let me know.
I had problems and solved it by turning phone off, then connect cable, then turn it on again, after that it recognized it

Just received one of these monitors at my work. I tried connecting my S3 with the same outcome. Check out this site: galaxymhl dot com
Samsung has apparently bought into a prorietary MHL connector that is incompatible with other accessories out there (including the ones they ship with their own products!)
I will call customer service. Please do so as well. Let's get our cables!
For some reason my phone will not connect to my computer through my USB. I have tried everything and my debugging is on as well. yet still it does not connect. It charges the battery very slowly with USB, much faster with wireless charging. Adaptive fast charging does not work either.
No contact even with Odin via download mode. Have all the drivers and have tried different USB cords.
When you do not make contact with Odin, is it the hardware that is broken?
Have tried different roms in my phone.

I think it might be the USB port on the computer. I know my computer often has difficulty keeping a connection, even when I use a different cord.

Buy new cable because original samsung are defective. They work ok when charging, but usb data transfer is a hell. With new cable it works perfect but I am so disappointed with samsung. We have 2 s6 edge (32 and 64gb versions) in house with same cable issue ( I previously owned 3 S tabs and galaxy s, s2, s3 mini, s4, s5 mini and now s6 edge)...This is really really disappointing from Samsung. After S2 they started making lousy mobiles (s4 was ok)........Will not buy Samsung again!!!
Hello, I own Galaxy Tab S6 WIFI, with android 12. I had some problems with connection via usbc-hdmi cable before. I had to plug the usbc at first, and secondly had to plug the hdmi into external monitor. This was the only way, how to make my tab s6 start dex with ext. monitor. But now, I am not able to connect the monitor at all. The tablet's just keep saying "USB connected"/"USB disconnected" over and over.
This message appears only if I try to connect external monitor.
Charging and data transfering are without problems.
If I try to connect S21 (exynos) with the same cable and same external monitor, the connection is established immediately.
Any ideas how to fix it?
PS: If I selected wrong thread, I am sorry. In that case I will delete this post.

Don't have such a problem with mine.
Just ordered and received today new adaptor USB-C to HDMI plus 2 m HDMI cable and I plugged my Galaxy tab S6 to an external monitor and I don't have such a problem as DEX appears immediately.
Edit : Forgot to say I also own a USB-C hub with 3 USB type A slot, 1 USB-C slot, with HDMI and VGA slots, Ethernet 1 GB so I could plug a mouse and and a keyboard and there are also working fine with my Galaxy Tab S6 DEX.
I also have an old Galaxy Note 9 and I can do wireless DEX with my external monitor with a Amazon FireTV Stick in pushing the DEX option from drop down "menu" but wireless DEX won't work with my Galaxy Tab S6.
Could probably be fixed with a next update...
For what I know wireless DEX is also working with a Galaxy Tab S7 and/or Tab S7+....

Thanks, does DeX work with hub connected to tablet? And does the hub charging your TS6 simultaneously?
That is my second problem, I am looking for a hub, that might charge tablet via USBC and share the screen at the same time. Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Unfortunately, that is due to the port being USB 2.0, not 3.0. The S6 Lite's USB C port literally doesn't have enough bandwidth to transfer video over cable.
The S21 however has a much higher bandwidth USB 3.0 port that can.
All you can do is wirelessly stream Dex/Smartview over Wifi

Hi, thank you for your answer. But i have Tab S6, not the LITE version.
I am successfully using this HDMI adaptor on my S6 which allows charging at the same time (sorry for the UK Amazon link) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07Z8XYLKS
