Looks like I might not purchase the Prime after all. I was waiting on it but reading all of these nightmares makes me want to wait and see what this bad ass toy has to offer at CES next week.

Looks cool, but without the dock I'm personally not interested.

For me it is the dock that makes Transformer Prime really worth it. I don't understand anyone who buys Prime without the dock, since it is not better than other high-end tablets in the market and has quality issues that the other high-end tablets do not have. I would buy something like Prime without the dock only if it was actually much better than the competition (higher clocked dual-core processor (quad-core is only really useful for games), 2GB of RAM, working GPS with better WiFi). Right now the Prime's non-existent GPS and weak WiFi alone are reasons enough to consider Galaxy Tab or iPad instead of Prime, especially since the only means of internet connection on Prime is through WiFi as opposed to 3G on its competitors.
So yeah, the only reason Asus has me as a customer is because they give me something others do not. Asus UK seems to understand this rather well too, since they are only offering the device with the dock. It's as if they know it would not sell well otherwise.
are either of the two games shown in the teaser even on android?
also: enjoy waiting until at LEAST march, but probably june for anything that is announced at CES to be available to purchase.
How is a device that we don't know what it looks like, what feature set it has, how many cores it's get, what the additional peripherals are, supposed to be an TP killer?
For goodness sake, the article doesn't even know whether it's going to be on android.
Sorry, you got some wrong sources, this is not about a tablet at all, this ad is for the Razer Switchblade, which is a kind of gaming netbook - you could also deduce this from the link at the end of the video - PCgamingisnotdead . com
It has nothing to do with Android, tablets and the Transformer Prime
It's one quite expensive gaming netbook for 2800$
More info about the device, which is definitely not a Prime killer - search for Razer Blade or Razer Switchblade (I was going to link it, but I'm a new member and apparently I cant )
If it's from Razer, you can bet it's overpriced. Just look at the Blade.
Razer usually makes crap so you can expect some really big stupid bugs in it like most of their stuff. Maybe like a handsfree GPS deathgrip, oh wait!
I'm hoping CES has something about the Google Tablet... I am hoping for something to be announced before the return window for the Prime closes because while I could live without GPS, I can't live without bluetooth which I essentially don't have in my Prime right now.
I bought their Mamba mouse, a decision I regret daily. Runs out of battery in 1 day, takes about 3 hours to get any computer to recognize it in wireless mode. And I paid way too much for it. I am sure the tablet will be a pain in the ass somehow too.
I don't like Razer either, their products usually have a very strange nerdy look, I mean look at their laptops:

That sir, is pure bull****.
It is a great tablet with high end specs. Its even cheaper then the Galaxy Tab 10.1
Galaxy Tab 10.1N 32GB: €535
Asus Transformer Prime 32GB + dock (worth about €150): €599 - €150 = €449
Not to note the better things the Prime has to offer vs. the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (and others) (fast RAM, Tegra 3, awesome display, keyboard).
Also, Asus is very fast with updates (are you aware that Samsung did release Android 3.2 for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 a week ago or so? Asus did that a couple of months back.).
It is just the best tablet today, with or without dock.
That tab OP linked to SUX . lol
it didn't list anything prime can't already do. those games are nothing as prime can handle the same thing since Tegra3. developers been said it'll be easy to port PC games and such to Prime/tegra3 without any loss in quality. they said for the first time they can developement in parallel since no dumbing down has to be done.
Prime would eat that Razr tab alive

Maybe for you. For me it is not the best tablet, I'll be buying it just because it has a dock.
In RAM and processing power it is weaker than iPad 2. It can defeat iPad in some tests, but loses out on others. Everybody says that ICS will change things, but we just do not know if it does. Not yet.
Not having GPS is a drawback in comparison to iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab. Not having 3G is a drawback. Having weak WiFi is a major drawback since it does not have 3G.
If you only use it to play games and watch videos then I agree, it is the best tablet out there. But as a mobile internet device it just does not compete with iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab.

Yeah sure, 1 GB & Quad core 1,3GHz (5 cores) (Prime) vs 512MB & Dual core 1GHz (2 cores) (iPad 2). You know the WiFi iPad 2 doesn't have a GPS either huh? Only 3G versions have a GPS.
WiFi is in line with the iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 btw.
Check your facts mate.

The dock is great, but it really sounds like you are not terribly satisfied with the prime. Why don't you get an iPad 2 or Galaxy with a Bluetooth keyboard, and a case which allows them to be a single unit?
... and you do realize that the wi-fi only iPad 2 does not have GPS?

What's a prime killer? GPS
Like others have said, its not just the tablet itself but the tablet/dock combination that makes Transformer unique and more desirable than other tablets. If Samsung or other manufacturers offer the same then we might have some competition but as it stands right now, TP is in a league of its own and that is why despite its shortcoming has a great demand for.

Prime has far more processing power than ipad2 as far as CPU goes. now if you meant how ipad2 gpu a lil more Power then OK. BUT even that claim has been debunked by developers n reviewers. they said yeah the ipad2 gpu may score better in synthetic benchmark tests BUT real world results will have Tegra3 providing a better looking version of anything ipad2 would have. so your claims there are false also. if you felt so disappointed by Prime, f#&! the dock. go get u ipad2 with their crappy wireless keyboard and only 512mb of ram. with a piss poor front and rear cam. come on now..lol. the prime ain't selling out like crazy for nothing. Prime is here to stay and will continue to hold Crown of Best and Most powerful Android tablet ever created. plus will hold this title for several months as nothing is expected to release anytime soon.
The hype isnr about ipad2 or galxyvtab. the hype is about the Prime. Get used to it. The Prime is the best deal out there for what it offers. plus look at the updated Anadtech article addressing the GPS issue. He said the GPS issue isn't important enough to change his view on his reccomendation of tablet. they still hold it as the best ever and best deal for what it offers.

that's what I'm thinking. instead of griping about it, just get something else. one of those outdated tabs he mentioned. because constantly downing the tablet then saying you still going to get one is a living contridiction. if I was so unsatisfied I wouldn't get one. regardless of keyboard dock. doesn't make sense.

The prime + dock is an amazing combination but I completely agree that the tablet on it's own gives nothing that's that special. the galaxy has CM9 now, which everyone who has used it says makes it fly, so I'm sure you won't notice such a huge difference between them, not to mention the difference in speed you are likely to see vs a prime with bad wifi. there are primes with good wifi but many people are having to fight through exchanges to get them. and comparing any android tablet on specs to the iPad is ridiculous since they have different OSs, and so use their specs differently.
I am still waiting for my prime purely because of the dock, and a hope that mine will have no wifi/bluetooth issues.

Razer likes to over-reach at the conceptual stage. Last year they had everybody in ooohs and aaahs at their switchblade concept.
It started as this...
and finally ended as this...
Which was initially supposed to hit the markets pre-christmas at a whopping $2800. Still not out, however, due to hardware delays (specifically the SSD).
I'm not bashing the end result - it's still an incredible looking machine. But it's easy to recognize the gap between their concept piece and end-result. I wouldn't bank your desire for a tablet purchase in the near-future on them. Switchblade went from concept at CES '11 to deviated end-result that still isn't out by the following CES '12.
They are ambitious, and make some nifty peripherals (although not without their share of negative feedback). Largely, they are good at marketing, possibly a little too good at it as the end-results tend to fall a little shy of their blog-hyped press-releases and snazzy concept photography.
Now CES is mere days away, and i might be caught eating my words by mid-July when they magically drop a shiny new tablet on the market . All I'm suggesting is don't take Razer marketing as gospel - it's very much crafted to generate hype - sometimes more than is warranted when the end-result shows up.

First off, I do not want this to be an ultra negative thread. While I have not used the Prime, I'm sure that it's overall the best Android tablet yet.
Basically, going into the holiday season, the Prime became the #1 thing on my Christmas list. I started to get super hyped for it after doing a lot of research, and that lasted a long time. But over the last 2 weeks, my interest went way down. The first big reason was obviously obtaining one in the first place. I won't focus on that, however, since we're all familiar with the issue.
The other major reason for holding off on a tablet purchase was the Prime itself. I consider the Prime to be the first true Android competitor to the iPad, and also to be the first (sorta) 2nd gen Android tab. But, for me, the definition of a new generation is having an increase in almost all specs and a consequent improvement in performance. That's where I'm hesitant. The Prime still has just 1 GB of RAM, a pretty poor GPU, the same resolution as always, and some other things that aren't any different from 1st gen Android tabs. It's more like a 1.8th generation Android tab to me. Definitely on another level than the 1st gen, but not quite fully 2nd gen to me.
Don't get me wrong, I think the Prime is awesome and extremely tempting. But my desire started to wane when I heard reports that I can be confident that by around March there should be some Android tabs with 2 GB of RAM, much higher resolution, better GPUs, and sometime during 2012 there will be A15 processors out. I know a lot of people will say that this is how mobile tech always is, that there is always something better soon, but for me I feel like it's worth the wait to reach a fully new generation. Anyone else in the same boat as me? Or are most people caving in to how tempting and awesome the Prime is lol?
I'm buying a prime, if something wayyyy better comes out that is support tempting to upgrade, then I will sell the prime on craigslist and buy the new tab.
I used my original transformer (now sold) at school a lot so the kb dock is a must have for me, and most likely other tabs won't have as great kb implementation, so im probably in a different situation as someone who just wants the tab and they may be more easily tempted to switch.

I got my Prime and so far I love it. I don't think there will be better android tables in the near future since none have been announced. I know Samsung likes to take its sweet time to release new products, but having said that, if they come with a better tablet I will have no problem selling the Prime to get the new one. I do it all the time.

There's always something new and better coming out every 3 months if I held out I would never have a tablet!
Short answer: Not yet.
But seriously, there are several reasons I feel that the Prime is a serious contender to iPad and something that can be called 2nd generation Android Tablet.
First, granted that a bump in the amount of RAM would be great, but in reality we should look at how well optimized the system should be for a given amount of memory. Slapping memory in when it only increases costs while doing very little good to the system performance is a step back in my opinion and 1GB should be plenty for a tablet with optimized OS. I also feel that Honeycomb is to blame right now as to how it utilizes its system resources.
On the CPU front, a quad core at lower clocks, made on a mature A9 process rather than a new A15 one makes more sense to me. The 4 cores+companion core and its implications on the battery along with the long term implications on the multi threaded applications far outweigh the initial performance improvements due to the bumped up frequency on a dual core.
The higher resolution would be interesting, but the question is if we really need 2k+ resolutions on a tablet screen. Does it really make sense to stress the GPU out for such little difference in the visual output from a tablet? Granted I could think of this improvement in the third generation devices, when the GPU is actually able to handle this with 3D gaming smoothly without heating up, but I still think it is wasteful beyond a certain level of ppi. I would much rather throw all that GPU horsepower behind better 3D rendering.
I agree on the GPU front that tegra 3 is lagging, but when we look at tablets we must remember that the experience is a sum total from CPU and GPU working in tandem. It is very difficult to bump up both the CPU and GPU specs to insane levels while keeping the price point that Asus is keeping (unlike Motorola with their horribly spec'd and priced Xyboard). I had hoped though that Nvidia would finally get their GPU to Unified architecture on tablet front like their Desktop GPUs- That would have been absoultely great with the 12 GPU processing cores in the Kal-el. But it is true that GPU is lacking right now.
Ultimately though what will make or break this tablet will be ICS. Everyone is more interested with the kind of experience that one gets on a tablet, not the hardware behind it. I feel and hope that the final melding of the mobile and tablet paths of android will give us improvements on that end. I also think that the way Asus, Nvidia and Google have been working on ICS we should see some interesting improvements on Tegra 3 with ICS. For me, Prime seems to be the best choice going ahead even with the upcoming CES.

Pegatron lands orders for Lenovo quad-core tablet PC
Aaron Lee, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Monday 19 December 2011]
Pegatron Technology reportedly has landed orders from Lenovo for its quad-core LePad tablet PC, which is set to enter mass production after the Lunar New Year in January, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
Specifications include the all new NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 processor which will be clocked at 1.6 GHz, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, and a high resolution display (1900x1200). It is also reported to have a full sized USB port, two cameras and a “Special Fusion Skin Body”.
In response to the report, Pegatron said it would not comment on matters concerning individual clients.
Currently, Lenovo's LePad sales are only behind those of Apple's iPad in China with the volume already reaching 160,000 units in the second quarter and a market share of 8.4%, the sources said.
Pegatron was originally the upstream partner of Germany-based Medion, but as Medion was acquired by Lenovo earlier in 2011, Pegatron was able to enter into Lenovo's supply chain and may even have chances to land notebook orders from Lenovo in the future after succeding in receiving tablet PC orders, the sources said.
In addition to Lenovo, Pegatron reportedly also has received orders from Acer and Toshiba for 2012, but the company has again declined to comment on client-related matters.
For the fourth quarter, Pegatron's quarterly profit will have a chance of reaching NT$1 billion (US$32.93 million), or an EPS of NT$0.4. Its EPS for the first three quarters of the year was negative NT$0.38.

T2's memory bandwidth and GPU was bottleneck for Honeycomb. The improvement on T3 might be just enough for 1280*800, but not good enough 1920*1200.
Anyway, that's just pure speculation. It would be interesting to see the actual products coming with T3 on 1920*1200
No, I don't have a first-generation tablet for it to be an upgrade from, and I'm interested in it first and foremost for the keyboard dock.
I admit I'd prefer to have more RAM, though 1GB is probably sufficient. But the resolution doesn't bother me much: I'd rather have the dock than a higher-resolution screen.
i'm more than happy with the prime thus far, to wait for potential new devices (none of which are around the corner) is to never buy anything because there's always rumors of devices "coming soon". being that the prime has had so many issues getting out of the gate, one could reasonably assume OEM's trying to push all these new panels (1200p, 1080p, 2000p) are going to have some major supply issues and are going to cost more than the prime does with dock.
in the gen1 round, asus was really the only oem who figured out people won't buy your tablet if you price it the same as an ipad and don't offer anything over the excellent ecosystem apple has created for their device, plus the apple logo > all in the mainstreams mind.
as for 2gb of ddr3 over 1gb of ddr2, if ICS can optimize the OS as much as google seems to be promising, then i'm just fine with 1GB.
the real kicker for the prime vs any other tablet is the dock, if it's something you want to use in that fashion, there is no other tablet out there that can compete in that area aside from the tf101.
the tegra3 soc as a whole seems to be running things just fine, until we really see some really AAA games for android, i don't see any problems with it's GPU. and by the time that happens, we'll all have moved on to (or at least i will have) gen3 tablets anyways and be running android 6.0
personally, the dock + having it now + asus' design and general build quality (this thing is THIN and solid) make me not really care about anything lenovo or samsung are going to put out in the next 4 months. (if they put out anything in that time frame at all)
but i already own a prime, so maybe i have some bias in my view
I realy want to get the prime, but i'm afraid to order and get a wifi/gps/screen leeck one. Im gonna wait abit untill the others comeout[lenovo, acer] maybe the price will drop and the units will finnaly have everything working.
If you're waiting for the price to drop. You'll be waiting a year at least.

This screw up on Asus' part is unacceptable in my opinion Johnny Shih announced this thing over two months ago at AsiaD and from that point on they should have been manufacturing these things 24/7 since then to meet the demand. But they obviously didn't because they couldn't even fulfill the initial preorders. If they can't fulfill the initial pre-orders how are they supposed to meet the ACTUAL demand of the entire market. I'm not giving up on this thing because I can't phyisically get it. I'm giving up because by the time they actually do meet demand, Tegra 4 processors will be PRIMED for release.
True for Toys Too
I guess everyone gets caught up in the specs wars but as far as the ram goes I think one gig of ram is plenty for the prime.Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the the original ipad only have half a gig of ram & it runs as smooth as silk?? If the Ipad ran sluggish people would say it needed more ram.But the software is just optimized for that amount of ram & that's why people compare every tablet to the ipad. I've seen videos of ICS running on the nexus & it's very fluid.ICS is the software that's been so badly needed that's why Asus wanted the Prime to ship with it.
i was not impressed with the primes hardware, software or screen. IMO my HP Touchpad runs better, good roms and screen colors are better.
selling it. dont become negative this is just my conclusion after testing each side by side. the primes price makes it not worth it to me considering the HP Touchpad does everything I would use the prime for but better and it was $300 cheaper.

I understand feeling this way. My Prime will be delivered on Wednesday and based on the various threads I have been concerned that there could be problems. This will be my first tablet and just like buying a laptop or anything electronic if there is a problem I will simply exchange it or have it repaired. I am not going to let the concern about a problem that may not exist on my tablet to keep me from getting one. FWIW.

Can you please stop posting that the whole time in every topic? Your HP Touchpad isn't running Honeycomb, so that isn't making sense at all. Thanks.
You ask if we are still getting the Prime after hearing that it isnt perfect?
I ask back: Why did you want to get it in the first place? I guess only you can answer that and see if it justifies the cost.
For me its pretty simple. I never had a Tablet before because the iPad doesnt offer the features i'm looking for. And i have a general rule not to buy first gen stuff. For obvious reasons i think (mainly because the companies are experimenting with stuff in 1st gen).
Along came the prime, offering everything i was looking for while not being a 1st gen device. Sure there will be better tablets in the future, with different features like screen resolution, but its the 2nd gen tablet from asus. End of story Again what features are required to make it 2nd gen? Resolution? Cpu clock? Amount of Ram?
For me being light and thin is one of the most important things on a Tablet. There is no other tablet as thin and light as the Prime, while still having all the features.
My post is getting long :/ But my last point is: Dont judge the software in its current state. It was planned as a ICS tablet but HC was needed to meet the release date. I would have been surprised if it was without bugs... I even expect some problems when ICS comes out simply because its still very new. If you want a system that is fully matured you have to go with iPad. Apple has a year more of experience with tablets than Android and the software is extremly minimalistic (->fewer bugs).
I intend to keep my Prime for quite some time. And i know that one year from now it will have none of the software problems it might has now.
But it will still have that keyboard dock with USB/SDcard, good if not better battery life than now (software optimizations!), many awesome Tegra3 games, good camera, light and thin etcetcetc.
I've used the original Transformer since launch day (I was fortunate to get it when within 3 minutes of when it came available on Amazon, and so skipped these shenanigans; I had no idea how frustrating it was). My opinion is that a typical 10" tablet (and I'm including the iPad 2 here) is of marginal value TO ME (only speaking for myself here) without the kind of integrated keyboard dock that's available for the Transformer/Prime.
I say this because other than writing notes and rough drafts (I don't consider ANY tablet ready for complex document creation of any kind), I don't find a 10" tablet of much use. I'd much rather have a 7" tablet for everything else I use the tablet form factor for, such as ebook reading, RSS reading, casual browsing, and casual gaming. And if I were to get a 7" tablet, I'd see no reason to spend more than the $199 or $249 for the Kinde Fire or Nook Tablet.
That said, the keyboard dock really does change the equation for me. It gives me something I can take to all-day meetings and use for taking notes, without the slightest concern about battery life. It also lets me pop the tablet into the dock when I'm researching at night in bed and want to write something quickly--and I can do it without needing to grab a notebook tray because the dock/tablet combo generates no heat and has no vents to cover.
So for me, the Prime seems like the perfect device. Faster than my Transformer and with a brighter screen so I can read it outdoors on my back porch (very important to me since I live in SoCal and we get lots of sun), and thinner/lighter so it's more comfortable for ebook reading. It's fine for casual gaming and video, and then for all the other things I use a tablet for.
I don't care about specs like 2GB RAM vs. 1GB RAM, because I've found my Transformer to perform well enough as it is. I also don't care about higher resolution screens, because I'd much rather have the additional brightness and battery savings. And, I like the $499 price for 32GB (vs. $599 for the iPad 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 when it first came out). I don't want to spend more than that for a tablet, and I guarantee these higher-spec'd devices WILL cost more unless they have an Apple icon on them.
Finally, although we can knock ASUS for their questionable tablet product launches, we can't knock them for how they've supported the Transformer after the fact. The Transformer was always a very close second to the Xoom in getting the latest versions of Honeycomb, and ASUS was quick to fix any issues introduced by new firmware versions. They've provided a great mix of features without heavy skinning of Honeycomb. They'll also be the first, I'm sure, to release ICS, and they'll do it for both the Prime and the original Transformer.
That kind of support is worth quite a bit to me. My wife JUST got Honeycomb 3.2 on her Galaxy Tab 10.1, and I'm guessing it'll be Q2 before she sees ICS. We're pretty much guaranteed to get ICS on the Prime in January. Does anyone really see Lenovo or anyone else providing that level of support? I don't...

I guess everyone gets caught up in the specs wars but as far as the ram goes I think one gig of ram is plenty for the prime.Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the the original load only have half a gig of ram & it runs as smooth as silk??

My concern about RAM comes from my SGS, which has 512MB. That's enough for any particular task, but I find that it's poor at multitasking, especially where the browser is concerned. The RAM isn't sufficient for browser + much anything else, so starting the browser kicks other applications out of memory, and leaving it means returning to the browser requires reloading any open pages.
I do think that 1GB will probably be enough though. How much RAM does the Prime have free for applications?

selling it. dont become negative this is just my conclusion after testing each side by side. the primes price makes it not worth it to me considering the HP Touchpad does everything I would use the prime for but better and it was $300 cheaper.

If you supposedly sold your prime (that as far as I am concerned you may or may not have ever owned) then why are you still trolling these threads. Go back to the TP threads. For the record I'm no Asus fanboy; I'm just tired of reading your trollish posts...Load CM7 on this supposed Prime that you have sold or are selling and then do the comparison of your discontinued tab vs the Prime.

Hi guys, before now I was a galaxy tab 8.9 user and even though I was disappointed with the performance of honeycomb on that tablet (mainly due to samsungs touchwiz and Nvidia tegra 2 hardware limitations) I still enjoyed the tablet especially since running an alpha build of ICS on it. I decided to sell my tab when the transformer prime was released for obvious reasons. (Its an overall much better tablet) and within my price point.
However I have had cause to hold back because of all the negative press the tab as been getting. I am not really concerned about the gps issues because I never for one day used the gps on my galaxy tab 8.9. I have a galaxy s2 which satisfies my gps needs.
What I am most concerned however is the wifi issues reported by users and also the Is the Is flickering issues some are having since upgrading to ics.
How bad and wide spreed as this problems? do you think the prime is still worth buying or are the wifi and Is the screen flickering issues minor issues which can be fixed via software update?
I would really appreciate recommendations from users before I make my decisions thanks
Dude just go for it, buy it, try it out.
I was concerned too when I ordered, but I lucked out with a good prime. The tablet is awesome and the quick updates from asus are constantly improving the experience.
Worst case you don't like it, just return it and get your money back.

Its still a fantastic tablet. Im fortunate to be in the UK and have the dock which truly makes it a worthy purchase. If I'm honest I wouldn't have bought it without the keyboard.
I can see the GPS issue is an annoyance but I would never consider using the device as a Navigation aid. The fact that you need wifi for the maps to work I never expected to use it in such a way. Lets face it the iPad doesn't have GPS and the apple fans aren't up in arms that they can't navigate from their device.
With the dock this is the closest thing to a netbook and love the fact that in essence I have an Android based netbook.
My advice don't expect too much, its an excellent tablet and even with its faults I love mine.
You will definitely need to try this for yourself to see if it works the way you use it.
Just order online, then you can return it within 2 weeks, that should be enough for testing.
I had many of the same concerns but I went for it in hopes of getting a good unit and i did. I'm extremely happy with it and it gets more use than any laptop or desktop in my house.

I second that. Only hassle I have is GPS and that is no dealbreaker for me on a WiFi-only device.
Make sure you get either Build 8.33 (Honeycomb) or 9.4.2.27 (Icecream Sandwitch) on your Prime, especially the 8.33 sped most things up with HC.

How can you find out what Firmware a Prime has prior to buying? Will the Retailers tell you?
Thanks
Since we're having soooo many duplicate threads asking the same thing, might as well just copy my post from similar threads.

I don't have wifi or screen issues. I half-heartedly tried to get GPS going but really have no patience or the inclination to do so! GPS is not what I bought the device for...and I bought the TFP knowing full well of the GPS issues. If I can't see any satellites...oh well. Am I a "dumb" consumer for buying a product that doesn't have all marketed specs working...I don't know...maybe. But spending $500 on the TFP without GPS was well worth it to me. I've bought PCs in the past where I knew the video card was crap....I simply swapped it out for something that met my needs.
If you're worried about encountering the noted issues (not including GPS which sounds like it will never work 100%), buy from somewhere with a good return policy. Try it out for a couple of weeks. That is what I'm doing and so far mine is a keeper. Actually, I bought two from two different stores...the second is still en route. I did this just in case one of them had problems...the second one is probably going back without ever being opened.
Good luck with your decision.
Get it... The problems are very much exaggerated in my opinion. Really who is going to put the tablet on their dashboard and use it for GPS ...
I have it, it's fast, It's stable, it's running ICS, almost no issues, wifi runs great, it's just a beast of a tablet. I suggest it for anyone.
And it's rooted...

Beyond slower wake up for the Wi-Fi and some other quirky wi-fi issues (won't work with my Verizon MiFi currently), I've had no issues with it. Still waiting on my keyboard dock, however.
i was a little upset when i first got it.. the wifi signal was pretty week when i used it in my bedroom (furthest point from my router, up stairs and on the other end of the house) infact it was loosing connection. However after some updates it does seem better. i no longer get a dropped connections get about 1 bar of signal. it works really well everywhere else in my place plus i can tether my thunderbolt to it if need be. i was at first going to return but i am leaning more towards keeping it now.
i hope they release another update that focuses mainly on wifi strength.. is that even a possibility? still testing but overall id say im pretty pleased.

Seems to depend on what you want from your tablet. If you want navigation device that will help navigate a cruise missile to its target, then maybe you should got with a Galaxy Tab LTE.
Now, if you want a slick/fast tablet running Google's latest and greatest OS, there is no comparison. This thing is hands down the best Android tablet on the market.
I just got mine in the mail yesterday and I'm really liking it. I think at this point you're less likely to get a dud.
only if you MUST have android
Guess, I will be the one contrary opinion.
The hardware is very nice. It is even sleeker than the iPad which is really saying something.
The Android fragmentation is still a major issue which unfortunately means, if you honestly look at the user experience, no android tablet is worth buying unless you are a hardcore Apple hating tech geek, or unless you must have a 7 inch tablet.
I have tried 5 different Android tablets the last month and am really surprised what a disastrous mess the Android ecosystem is. You would think that any tablet with the same processor and version of android could run the same software straight off the market. NOPE. I mean seriously, WTF?
Google needs to clamp down in some way to end this stupidity. I have a bunch of recent action titles that run on an Acer Inconia A500 but wont run on other Tegra 2 tablets under the same version of Android, and forget the prime.
While much is made off how the prime is the best Android gaming yet, Google for graphics benchmarks of the iPad 2 vs the prime. The iPad 2 is more than twice as fast in most graphics benchmarks. Not only is there a vastly larger selection of games, they all work. When a new OS update is released everyone gets it, no waiting and wondering if you will ever get it.
Anyone in the High Park area of Toronto want my prime before I return it to Staples?
I will be keeping my lowly 8GB Acer Iconia A100 because I love the compact 7 inch size and comfortable to hold round edges. The sharp edges of the iPad 2 makes it uncomfortable to hold for long, and this is one thing the prime should not have copied from the iPad, the prime is even worse.
I changed the build.prop file on my A100 to make it think it is an A500. It is compatible with far more hardcore action games than my prime. How is that for irony?
Yes guys size does matter. My iPad 2 is a vastly superior tablet in every way, but I use my lowly Iconia A100 cause it is the most comfortable to hold. I am still kicking myself for returning the 16GB playbook I bought for just $200.
Unless Google muscles in to clean up the fragmentation mess, if Apple pulls a mea culpa and actually releases a 7 inch iPad, Android will continue to be the poor cousin of iOS that people only buy because it is cheaper or because they are fanatic extremeists who want to strap on an explosive laden jacket and run into an Apple store shouting "Android Akbar!!!!"
No don't get it. If you are going to ask rather than get and try it, then the answer is no. If you try it then ask, the answer is keep it. When you are buying a car or a house please come on here and ask us for our opinion again

Also $120 more expensive to boot.

yes, I meant to say ALMOST every way but hey ever try editting on a tablet - too painful... LOL
I will give the prime this one HUGE compliment. It is the first tablet that seems to equal the elegant design and build quality of the iPad. In fact I think the prime is better looking. I have never seen a PC laptop that was even close to a MacBook pro or the latest MacBook air in terms of quality, and I have owned HP Envy, Alienware, and other expensive laptops. Higher price to performance sure, but never close to the same build quality and display quality. At least with tablets non-Apple manufacturers are FINALLY waking up to high quality IPS displays. That's a great thing.
And I definitely prefer the 16:10 ratio screen of the prime to the iPad's 4:3 especially for video. Won't hold the reported wifi issue against it, as my prime has no wifi nor GPS issues, then again neither did my iPad 1, which had the same wifi complaints from many people as the prime seems to.
The iPad does do 1080p HDMI out - with Apple's overpriced $45 HDMI adapter, and more fun the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S do wireless video mirroring to a $100 Apple TV though only 720p.
As to customization, you would think the alleged "open" Android system is more so but no. Especially since the iPad 2 is now jailbroken. There are far far far more options out there for a customizing a jailbroken iPad, and if you consider the amount of software, and especially accessories, even a non-rooted iPad has far more options for customization. But even that I don't hold against the prime cause really no one needs that amount of customization. The problem with the prime and Android tablets in general keeps coming back to the atrocious inexcusable app incompatibility even among essentially identical hardware. Seriously. WTF?
All that said, the reality is both are the highest quality tablets on the market, but no matter how great the prime is, the problem is the Android tablet ecosystem is currently an epic fail. Google played too loosely with Android, yet ironically allowed locked boot loaders - you know - you have to "jailbreak" Android devices too.
I really hope Google grows a pair, and starts laying down some law on the Android devices and ecosystems. First thing they need to do is disallow any custom UI on top of Android. Aftermarket sure - pre installed no. And lay down a set of hardware requirements, such that a base Android OS works on every type of hardware, just like Windows can be installed on a lot of different hardware.
Consumers I think will tolerate a lot of screwing around with limited cell phones because carriers have been screwing consumers and proprietary hardware since the beginning of time. That I think is why Android phones are now doing very well against the iPhone. But tablets as a replacement for PC - I think there will be much less tolerance for the mess that is currently the Android ecosystem. Even on PC's for the most part - things just work. On Android - it's a mess.

Sorry, but I call b.s. on Ipad customizations. AS I have one jailbroken and modded to the extreme. You have to jailbrake Ipad to only be able to do half the things android does right out the box. THE IPAD ZCUSTOMIZATIONS FROM CYDIA N SUCH are crap. All stuff still looks basically the same. You can change wallpapers, some icons...system sounds, lockscreen n that's about it. THE MOST EXTREME Ipad mod was getting a sort of launcher called Honeypad. Its more of a hybrid android OS of honeycomb. I can launch it and you would think my Ipad was an android tablet. REALLY MADE Ipad feel like a new device. I could apply Widgets n stuff. But with ipad1 or 2 having limited Ram, you run out quick. That's when I knew I wanted an android tablet. Yes apple has superior games, which I have all the best ones like Infinity Blade2, etc... Android allows wauly more freedom out the box n you can do more. USB adapter support on either Ipad is a joke. Apple nerfed it.
WHEN IPAD1 first came out, you use to be able to hook thumb drives, external keyboards, mouse, even external harddrive. VERY shortly after apple released people were doing this and didn't like it. APPLE ONLY WANT YOU using thEIR ACCESORIES. SO on an update apple reduced the voltage output to USB adapter therefore making it useless except for only apple accessories basically. This caused a huge uproar on ipadforums.
Ipad1, as much as I love mines, has nothing on the prime. NEITHER does ipad2. PRIME is way better than both. People believe in that Ipad vs. Prime gpu benchmark b.s. too much..lmfao point blank prime is way more powerful. It was even said although ipad2 might score higher on gpu benchmark, prime/tegra3 in real life will perform and look better. AS its fact that tegra3 CPU is a hell of alot more powerful than ipad2 CPU.
Op get the Prime. If you want old outdated devices, get an ipad2 or any other Android device. There won't be anything coming out to be more powerful till around may-june at the earliest. As of right now, Prime is the most powerful tablet in the world!
I have been up in the air myself with all these negative reports. I plan on picking one up this week locally and reporting of any issues.
From an outside view on these forums and others. It looks really bad for the prime having so many issues. I am willing to take the risk and spend the money in hope for getting a great unit. Anything less than amazing, i will return it and venture elsewhere. Apple makes great products. Just not for me.
Aside from the Wifi, I don't care much about GPS myself, this thing is ridiculous awesome. It has serious power decodes 1080p mkvs no problem, with ICS the stock video player does it even I love the tablet, the design is great, the performance is killer... The Wifi issues do suck though, I can;t wait till this actually gets resolved
Obviously it's the most "powerful" in terms of pure processing power and GPU as far as Android tablets go. But is the problems worth not buying? I will not be rooting the device as way to many problems I see on here. My question is if I leave it stock would I have some stupid issue's? I dont use bluetooth or GPS on a tablet so..
Personally, I am waiting for the t700 that is due in June. The wifi issue did it for me. All fixed in the t700 plus the hd screen will be nice.

Well, people like you tend to wait a year or 6 month's for devices.. To me waiting 3 1/2 month's because something better is coming is pointless.
I Need a tablet NOW. My question is since the Prime's hardware is obviously superior to anything on the market is it worth purchasing even so many other issues.
I said I don't use GPS or Bluetooth on a Tab bc. it seems that alongside not-so-strong WiFi are the only problems.. O and the Serial # problems, light-bleed ... Am I missing nething? I am only asking as i'm purchasing my Prime in less than an hour from Staples..
Kolja Dunhamm (CM-developer) seems to have concluded that Tegra 3, which the prime is based on, is junk. Just like Tegra 2.
There's a few much better chipsets out there already and even better ones coming soon. Unless you want something now, I'm sure you will be able to get something much more worthwhile in not too much time.
If it will have the awesome keyboard dock built into the design from day-one, however, is hard to tell or predict. If a integrated keyboard dock is more important than processing power, the prime might be worth it.
Otherwise I say wait it out. See what else is coming.

If your buying it anyway why are you asking if its worth it? If you want people on a forum to help you feel better about buying something then go ahead and buy it. You have the official blessing. But if you wanna be smart and you have to have a tablet now then get something a lot cheaper and wait for much better devices coming in the next few months for the same money.
I returned my Prime last month, and bought the 32GB original TF101. I saved $100, and everything on it works like it should. Although it doesn't have the raw processor power of the Prime, my WiFi range is about 33% better than it was on the Prime, which is more important to me anyway.

You better click that link, because it took me one hours getting it here. From the G+ app. One hour. I'm not kidding. That one link = one hour of work.
Because the Google+ Android app has no way of sharing outside the G+ app (leaving no way to draw new users), no way of sharing with the Android mechanisms.
And the mobile web-pages you are forced onto does not work if you have more than one Google account on your phone. I can't have normal webpages pages? My phone has better resolution than most laptops sold these days?
And then when you enter the laptop Google doesn't find the page your are searching for because evidently Goolge started sucking on search and can't even search its own ****ing social network.
Absolutely pathetic. Absolute garbage.
But there you have it. A link. Clickable. It should work. Even on Android, it might even lead you to the G+ app itself. Where you again will be able to share it with noone outside the world of G+.
These are amazing times we live in.

If I have to unroot everytime there's a fw upgrade, it's not worth the bother. Android OS will continue to evolve so development will have to constantly catch up. I've had enough of the Prime, my next tab will have 1900x1200 res and Jelly Beans.
Well i got mine because someone mislabled it and put a $399 sticker on it XD so ya totally worth it for me.
At the price tag of $500.... the galaxy tab was about that when it first came out. The first transformer was close to that when it first came out as well... hell up to a few months ago it was STILL $500 in most stores, granted that was bundled with the dock.
In all, for what you get its a steep price but a cutting edge tablet. Sometimes the cutting edge cuts you tho, in the case of GPS and wifi. in 6 more months there will be a dozen tablets with the tegra 3, and by christmas there will be the tegra 4 or whatever comes next. theres always something bigger down the road.
The way i look at it: If you want a tablet you are going to push to the max get the prime. If you want a good tablet that has the problems mostly worked out, get the TF101 on clearance (at least in my area) for like, $300? Really it boils down to how much are you going to use it, what are you using it for, what are you willing to pay for it, and how soon do you need it. With all electronics, it pretty much doubles every six months. Quad core tablets now, watch us have a 8 core tablet by christmas XD
TLDR: This tablet does everything i want it to do, and more. amazingly fast for games, pictures, great for watching movies (tho not wirelessly), overall im happy with it and the price i paid. YMMV.

Definitely worth it.
)Bought the prime yesterday.
It's really hard to explain the feeling when holding this device.
Asus gave a new meaning to the word "premium".
This device is absolutely amazing in all ways. Build quality is of the best I've encountered, screen is amazingly bright.
Speed, well it's tegra 3. Mulitasking is super smooth and just a pleasure with ics.
The keyboard dock, although being small, is very well made. I can type on it perfectly. The dock can also power an external hdd.
Gaming is awesome (tegra 3, duh).
Camera is nice, although not super necessary on tablets except for the front facing. Video quality is very nice.
Dont know about battery life yet. Ive only had it for a day.
I sold my ipad (and divorced apple thank god) and got this. I waited to see what would be the new king after MWC, but it seems that the TFP kept the crown for now.
All in all IMO this is the best value you can get for your money right now.
Truly amazing tablet.
For what it is worth, I read that quick thread in google+ and really put zero weight by what that guy said.....
OMAP5 wont be on the market in users hands for a year (!) and S4 devices wont be in customers hands until Q2/Q3 this year. So Tegra 3 is really compared to Exynos and S3 and OMAP4 which it does great against......and is the best chipset for the first 4-6 months of its life....
The chipset on Tegra3 is not a disappointment to me....it does everything you need and more. If you live to benchmark your tablet then wait...otherwise Tegra3 is fine

If I have to unroot everytime there's a fw upgrade, it's not worth the bother. Android OS will continue to evolve so development will have to constantly catch up. I've had enough of the Prime, my next tab will have 1900x1200 res and Jelly Beans.

Uhh... You don't have to unroot every time there's an update. The updates do remove root, but Voodoo OTA RootKeeper can just bring it right back if you made a su backup with it. Simple.

I actually got mine off of ebay, Thursday and i haven't wanted to put it down yet. My wifi might not be full bars but i cant tell from the speed of the pages loading. I've tried ebooks, audiobooks, music, videos and games on here and haven't been disappointed yet.

Also most developers will incorporate the updates in their roms so as to not break root.
I thought I'd ask:
I've read that there are gps issues... Is that fixed now?
Are there different models numbers to avoid.. I know some are dual and some are quad core but do roms lack support for different devices?
Any other issues with the device?
Gps is a design problem with the device. Its not even advertised as having GPS anymore.
At this point you should wait for the acer A510
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Iconia-A...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1332962137&sr=1-1
GPS most likely won't work at all and ASUS already removed it from their specs list. I suggest you worry about the weak wifi instead. Probably better to wait for the 700 or look into another tablet.
Hmm he acer is in a week with similar stats... I'll wait and check that out thanks

I also would suggest that you look at the tablets apps on Android vs the tablet apps of the iPad. Needless to say, there isn't even a tablet section for Android. So if tablet optimized apps are important to you....
The Transformer series remains unique in that they offer the integrated keyboard dock. If navigation-quality GPS is important to someone, then yes, the Prime is not currently the best option. Personally, I've found wifi performance to be perfectly acceptable, but some others haven't. Otherwise, the Prime is an excellent tablet offering great performance, excellent battery life, a nice (and uniquely bright) screen, and the ability to be used as an Android netbook when placed in the dock. And then, there are the intangibles such as the fact that ASUS has so far been much, much better at updating their Android tablets than anyone else, by far.
The Acer might end up being a decent enough Tegra 3 tablet, but I'd not be willing to say it's a better option for someone who doesn't care about using his tablet as a navigational device. I'd say, try the Prime, and if wifi works acceptably for everywhere it's needed, then keep it.

First of all, this tablet rocks!!! In my case the GPS works like a charm and the device it self is quite solid!!! the Keybar add on is amazing and adds a lot of extra battery. My two cents.

I dont know about your Prime man, but I got one with C2 serial and everything just works, GPS signal may be a bit weaker than other devices I've used, but it works and Iget a lock without WiFi under 30 secs.
Wifi is also strong.. i lose some power once BT music starts streaming but I still have good speeds. Attached some screens:
- Internet while streaming A2DP audio
- Internet without Bluetooth on
- GPS Status with GPS lock

Thats very true, im considering leaving for the iPhone 5 to when thats out, software updates on android are a joke, and app quality is huge...
FYI
There is only one model of the Prime. It's the Transformer Prime TF201 Quad Core Tegra 3 CPU
ASUS also makes the Transformer TF101 which is a Dual Core Tegra 2 CPU.
Both offer the docking keyboard but are two complely different animals.

I plan on buying a prime Friday, could some one explain to me how they use the prime as a GPS unit while driving so I can test this out when I get mine. Also I currently have an HTC EVO with GPS would using the prime as a GPS unit over the EVO offer any advantages?

using prime as GPS navigation device is not optimal. it won't be better than your evo, as far as GPS goes. there will be a big announcement though so stay tuned
advantage of prime, when GPS working properly, would be the larger and higher quality screen size.
don't feed into all the issues hype so much. when you get your device. use it as you would normally any other device you own. then see if and where it falls short at. If you so bent on looking for something wrong, you'll convince yourself its there. even if it isn't.
i'm actually in the same boat you are and i am currently asking the same questions. my issue is price. the ipad2 is going for $360 right now! the transformer prime 32 GB (lowest model) is going for $499. the ipad3 is going for $499. The acer iconia A510 is up for preorder on amazon for $450 for the 32gb model no gps and 5MP camera back 1MP camera front @ 1280 x 800 and this will come out shortly.
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-A510-10k...TWPU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332977290&sr=8-1
so i'm kinda stuck. tegra 3 is much better than the apple ipad2 A5. I'll have to seriously consider the acer iconia but acer has always lacked dev support so i'll be looking to xda developers for help yet again like i am with LG. Thats not necessary a bad thing but it helps when the company supports their own products like asus. I'm also hoping that once asus sees the price on the iconia they will drop the price on the transformer prime to $450 aswell.

Thank you kindly demandarin, that actually was my point. But I thought I might just ask to possibly gain an idea as to how the tablet would be more beneficial or even practical than using my phone. I don't mean to start some forum war over GPS, but can't see the level of importance that has been placed on it that has been made in the various Prime forums. I figure if apple can sell millions of tablets without GPS like an Android tablet has, then the vast majority of the tablet buying public could care less about that feature.
I look forward to the big announcement and thank you again for your response.
If you get the transformer get it for the dock. Its a unique and awesome experience. No other tablet will ever come close in that regard. That's the reason to get a prime IMHO and its a damn good reason.
If you just want any tablet you can get the tp as well. Its awesome just as a tablet, but take a look at the other ones such as the ipad as well. If you compare the ipad and the transformer without a dock they're both good tablets with its pros and cons. But if you add the functionality of the dock the prime is on another level.

QFT.
The dock is what made me buy this tablet without even thinking. Being able to manually take notes in College + Keyboard when needed + Extra battery + USB and ANOTHER SD card slot just sealed the deal.

And I was kinda in the same boat as you, I was told that the prime was in stock so I sold my OG transformer to get it. I also looked at the new ipad. I look at it like this if I want the most apps and games then I it's ipad. But for functionality, not only is it android but transformers in particular. I want the 32gb , the HDMI , the dock (for typing and game controllers), Onlive for games. Also, and I guess this is more subjective I dislike itunes and the ipad UI
Hey all, I am looking to get a tablet and have two options for the same price. I can get the prime with keyboard dock and other accessories or an infinity. From what I've read so far they are very similar except for the screen. I'm leaning towards the prime since it has the accessories.
I'm def going to root it asap, so I wanted to get some opinions. Do any of you have the keyboard?? Is it worth it vs the infinity??
Thanks!

Keyboard is worth it as an option - we sometimes use it sometimes do not.
I have TF201 - very happy (sans GPS).
Wookie 1.4 ROM fixs all performance issues with PRIME (I have not yet installed it myself as the most recent ASUS ROM was also very very stable and fast).
What about these wifi issues I keep seeing. Some people make it sound like you can't even get a signal while others say it's fine. I don't plan on being outside of my house with the tablet so should i be concerned??
My dad bought a TF700 yesterday. I was setting it up and noted that the wifi was showing stronger signal than my 201. However, since the very latest update a few days ago I have noted significant improvement in my wifi on the 201. I ran speedtest.net and pulled the same numbers as my laptop.
The TF700 sitting next to the 201 looked IDENTICAL screen-wise wich I didn't expect considering the higher display specs of the 700. However, the 700's camera image on-screen was seriously yellow in comparison to my 201. Doing some research i found that a yellow screen on the 700 has been reported by many sources including reviews. When we transferred the picture to a PC and it didnt look as bad.
Office depot has the TF700 for $449. They have the 201 DOCK for $99 (in store only). I plugged my 201 dock in to the 700 and it worked perfectly so I suggested to my dad he get that one rather than the 700 dock and save the $50. There are many reports on here that the 201 dock is identical internally to the 700's dock including part numbers etc...
My dad was given a coupon for 20% off accessories when he bought the tablet so the dock will be $80 when he uses it.
All in all I would probably buy the 700 for the higher specs. Performance wise I did not find the 700 a stellar or really noteable improvement. The places I noticed things were more in the software side with extra options in certain places on the 700.
Thanks for that write up. I appreciate it. I spoke to the person that I'm buying it from and he said that wifi has always been strong for him. I did see that there was a new update. I'm not going to be streaming movies etc. mainly just surfing the web and downloading apps. I won't use the camera feature at all so that's not a big factor.
The screen was the big factor for me. I'm coming from an iPad 2 and both the prime and infinity have better screens so I think it's going to be an upgrade for me either way. I've read that many apps aren't optimized for the infinity's screen so not sure if that matters.
I'm kinda leaning towards the prime with the keyboard right now. I'm going to buy it through ebay so if the wifi totally sucks I can file a claim and return it.
I have to be honest though, neither looks as good as the newest displays on iPad. When not side by side you probably wouldnt realize but the clarity and sharpness of the iPad stands out.
having said that I stream netflix on my 201 regularly with no problems.
I agree thatte iPad 3 and 4 are sick and not comparable to the Prime. But since I'm coming from an iPad2 it'll be a slight improvement. Plus I thought that was a great screen anyways.
Good to hear the you can stream netflix over wifi without issues. That's the only thing concerning me at this time.
The prime is basically discontinued which means support and development for it will falter much sooner than the tf700. The screen if you compare text is infinitely better too and the WiFi suckz

I agree 100% with this post... I have a Prime since day one FINALLY there are some solid JB roms available, running energy with mine. As for the discontinued statement it is already happening to the docks. I tried purchasing off amazon the new 500/700 dock and they cancelled my order saying they had no clue when it would be available again. So I had to order the last one from Newegg and they discontinued it after my order.
So basically go with the Infinity or pick up the Nexus 10 if you dont mind having no memory upgrades.
I currently have both. JB Stock vs stock Prime is better. 700 is very laggy and frame rate suck. Nenamark2 is below 39 fps while the Prime gets about 57fps. Even if you enable Force GPU and Disable Hardware Overlay it doesnt make much difference. I had to down grade the 700 to ICS which makes it smoother (nenamark2 score of 41) but what I noticed with ICS is during download of games or app data the 700 becomes unusable just like how Prime was on ICS. JB on Prime took care of this.
Also you will find a lot of games not compatible specifically Gameloft and EA games. You will need to side load most of them but you will need to have a source like a backup from another device. If you dont really play gameloft or EA games then it doesnt matter. Glu games are all available in the market.
The only slight advantage of the 700 is the screen. Its better in particular with text. Micro sd card no longer sticks out if you even use one. From the forums the tf700 needs to be unlocked and loaded with Cleanrom and clemsey kernel to make it on par with the Prime but if score means anything, Nenamark2 on clemsey kernel is 41fps on JB. As far as wifi both seems to be on par. But Prime lacks gps if thats important to you.
EDIT: I just tested wifi again and 700 is slightly better actually by 5-8dbm. Unless you're quite far from your router then that might not matter much. Also noticed the Prime tends to jump around more.

I have a TF201 (since Dec 27th of last year). It is a low SN unit and I've never had any WiFi problems (only the GPS but that's a non-issue for me). It has worked great since new and has only gotten better with each update.
I have a friend that bought TF700's (based on what they saw with my Prime). When we are visiting we usually play the same games etc. sitting next to each other. He always comments that he thinks my Prime out performs his Infinity. There are some apps that work on my Prime and sort of works on his Infinity like multi-live wallpaper. I can assign different pictures to each of my screens without any problems but on his Infinity it doesn't work for some reason. We are both running JB. When we run Beach Buggy Blitz side by side his gets jittery when there is a lot of stuff going on but mine is smooth as silk. Not sure if this is the resolution optimization thing mentioned above.
I say go with the Prime if it's the same price as the Infinity especially if it come with the dock/accessories and the Infinity is just the tablet.

That’s cool. I'm waiting for my warranty to run out at the end of the month then it's root and unlock for me. I'm kind of scared to do it because mine has worked so well from day one though. I should be getting the dock for Christmas and I can't wait to play with that. The DEV community is great and that is why I like the Android platform so much because of cases like yours.
