Issue with bootanimation.zip - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I am running UnNamed 2.2.1. When I try to copy a custom bootanimation.zip file to the system/media directory it just says copy failed. Since UnNamed is rooted I am not sure why I would be getting this error. It seems like a permission issue but I am not sure how to go about setting that. Any help would be appreciated.

Hard time applying a camera mod

Whenever i try installing a camera mod I always end up failing. Idk what im doing wrong.
I renamed my orginal camera.apk to camera.apk.bak and moved the mod to system/app but no luck.
I tried installing the mod also while it was in the system/app and still no luck.
idk what to do. Im not sure if the camera.odex has something to do with it. Id rename it to camera.odex.bak but I cant seem to find it in system/app.
Help?
Im also on cm7 nightlies and i was trying to install potatomans camera mod

After moving the apk to system/app did you reboot? You have to reboot usually for it to take effect

Using rom toolbox. Accidetally hit uninstall instead of advanced freeze
maybe you just disabled it. go to settings > applications > all > video player > enable

Use root explorer to move the apk to system/app folder and that'll do the trick.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Hmm still a no go. I have a sprint gs3. I wonder if thats the issue?
You meed root to move it to system/app folder, is it rooted?
If its rooted then in root explorer mount as r/w using the button at the top and then paste it in to the system/app folder.
If it successfully pastes in there you should be fine.
You don't need to install and anyway it won't let you, it'll keep saying not installed but since it is in system/app folder that doesn't matter.
Just reboot after you move it to the folder.

The issue is that you also need the .odex file, i had the same thing with sms (secmms. apk + odex)
I made a zip with the maps system\app\ and the 2 files. You can install it using recovery mode.

Transition Animations for All

OK here ya go I tried to test these as best I could but as always USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I would NAND Backup if I didn't want to have to reflash my ROM (like that was ever an issue).
This uses D.O.C. theme engine so they can be flashed on virtually ANY ROM.
Big thanks to Snuzzo as well THANKS
I tested them the best that I could.

One thing you might need to adjust your animation speeds in /settings/Developer Options/Window Animation Scale & Transition Animation Scale.
Not much else to say other then ENJOY!
Don't forget to hit the Thanks button if you like..
Remember guys, these will not work with TWRP.

Is there a workaround for this, other than flashing another recovery? Maybe extract, copy, paste in file explorer?

Unfortunately none that i'm aware of.. other than to extract the ROM, open framework-res.apk (7zip) copy the XMLs from the attached zip into the apk.

Nope. No workaround. Also with vrtheme, if you want your old animations back, there is a folder created as "vrtheme-backup" on your sd card. These could potentially work on nearly any ICS rom.

Thanks guys, that sucks. Any idea why things are so finicky with the recoveries? My inc and tbolt were mules, that got raped and pillaged regularly with everything i could possibly think of, the x2 and rezound are stubborn and finicky, and put up one Hell of a fight with my crack flashing and constant amateur modding attempts

I use AmonRa 3.15 and flashed VRThemes before so I'm not sure what went wrong.
There's a framework-res.apk in that folder and that's it.
I restored my backup, re-downloaded the file, flashed again, it says successful but my phone is still stuck at the HTC screen.

only "work around" for it would be to extract the framework-res.apk from your system/framework directory.
place it on your pc, use 7zip to explore the apk with out opening it and drop the "anim" folder into the apk where the old one is.
then push apk back to phone.

may be ur zip file is crashed.. try downloading again and put it to your root of sd card..
Your best bet is to search in the SGT 10.1 section and see if there's anything in there.

Use a file explorer like es or solid explorer, delete su from /system/xbin and delete superuser.apk from /system/app. Reboot and you are unrooted! Also, I don't know the method you rooted, but there is a possibility that su is installed on /system/bin instead of xbin.

Slim bean SIM issue

I posted a topic yesterday that I'll delete when I get home, but I've discovered my problem.
I'm funning the latest slim bean update, freshly done yesterday. But it won't work with my sim. When I go to choose a network, it just tells me that an error has occurred.
My vibrant is for T-Mobile and unlocked. I use an AT&T sim card.

I tried that, but I would not work for me. I had to revert to Beta 1 again. Am I missing a step?
1. Copy EFS folder from root to SD card
2. Flash Beta 2 and lose IMEI
3. Copy EFS backup from SD card to root
4. Reboot

Assuming you mean clicking the command to fix permissions in recovery, I tried that. Is there a better way to do it?
Ive figured it out.
Slimbean itself as a ROM has a problem transfering the IMEI.
To solve it you can copy the unlocked IMEI and put it in the root efs, blah blah.
But I just put on the Cyanogen ROM instead, and it works like a charm. Nevertheless that Ive found that I prefer Cyanogen.
Good luck to anyone with the same issue. ^^
... thanks?

Fix permission in your root file app. For just the imei folder permission is rwxrwx---, efs folder is rwxr-xr-x.
