Mupen64Plus for Android (N64) - Nook Color Themes and Apps

This works on the Nook Color, unlike N64oid.
http://www.paulscode.com/forum/index.php#c4
January 2nd 2012 release
Release APK (source code)
This is the main version, for anyone who does not own an Xperia Play.

Very cool, I'll be following this pretty closely then.
Mine crashed as soon as I attempted to run a few roms... :/
Any specific settings I'm missing??

I tried a few ROMs and all of them loaded up but of course most have the usual visual problems. I just used the default settings. There aren't many settings to tweak right now anyway.

I tried mucking with a few of them. Then I reset the data to make sure I was on defaults. Might just be my particular roms :/

I got Mario64 and Fzero64 running what looked like flawlessly. SFRush, Rush2, Pilotwings64, and Shadows of the Empire loaded but had issues. Fog isn't rendered unfortunately. N64oid has fog support.
Oh and I am using the CM7.2 RC0 KANG ROM. I don't know if his customized Dalingrin kernel behaves differently. It still doesn't work with N64oid though.

I'm on just CM 7.1 I haven't really had time to play with other versions. I'm not even sure where to go from 7.1
I tried OOT, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and a few others to no avail.

Just want to bump this. This emulator has a lot of potential but it needs more members posting problems and contributing to the system. It works decently well on the nook!! Hope on over to their forum and give it a shot.

I have been using Mupen64 for almost a month, and and have experienced none of the problems I encounters using the early versions of N64oid, the only versions of that app I could get working on the nook. Mupen64 has run Zelda OOT and Perfect Dark with no FC so far.. The Zelda has some scramble issues in the maps on the start screen, but the dungeon maps are fine, so there are really no playability issues. I never know how many rupees I have, and but whatever.. A huge improvement, and and the app is free on the dev's website.
Well worth a try if you game on your Nook. I find that the best 64 games trump most of the market fare by a wide margin, although none of the games make use of the sensors or touch screen of course.
Oh yeah: has worked on every iteration of the MiRaGe Kang, and currently running the 2/1 update.

can't find roms for mupen64plus on note 2
hi guys been searching the forums for this answer but have come up empty handed.
I moved the roms to my extSdcard under the directory downloads but when i use mupen64 to look for games in that directory it doesn't see any games; when i use astro file manager or even the epsxe app i see the roms there.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] PSX4droid for wildfire

Hi, I'm new here, and I just wanted to ask if anyone has tried running PSX4droid on a stock or rooted wildfire.
Sorry if this was a question that was already asked before
thanks for any future response
i remember reading this thread a while back but never got round to trying it -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963395
not sure how good it would be with on screen controls on such a small screen.
If you have luck with it let me know.
ps. you dont say whether your rooted and rom'd but it looks like for best performance you
wanna be on cm7 or similar.not sure how well stock would fair?
EDIT: NVM, Already linked above.
Thanks for the quick response
I'll check it out right now and probably post later.
I did try the Nesoid on my rooted wildfire running at 691 mhz and it works great without any problems. And I just wanted to see if it could run something much better than NES games.
I tried it yesterday and loaded Final Fantasy 5. After choosing the ROM, it just showed a black screen and kicked me back to the selection screen.
More info on this would be nice
Trying the fPSe right now.. but whenever I choose the app, It just shows a black screen, doesn't even let me choose the BIOS or anything..
might try again a while later, but no progress for now. Guess I'm stuck with NES games for a while
By the way I'm using CM7 RC2 and running at 691mhz, if that helps...

Follow below link for FPse PS1 emulator:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963395
In FPSE, you can directly run the PS1 game (either ISO or BIN), but all games does not play. You need to try multiple games. Anyway, in the link, I have already mentioned some games which I tried.
yeah.. I guess I have to try a couple more games..I tried to play Final Fantasy 5 on it and thought "hey, If Final Fantasy 7 worked on it, I bet 5 would work"
Guess I'd better try more ROMS.. Thanks for the help guys..

ScummVm on Rooted Stock?

Hi everyone,
I have a stock rooted Nook Color (1.2) and I've been struggling trying to get ScummVm working. I downloaded the latest nightly from ScummVm's website, but every time I try to get it installed, it just says "Application Not Installed". I tried a couple of other versions of ScummVm mods, but none of them seem to work.
Am I doing something wrong? Does it not work with stock? Did anyone get ScummVm working? If so, how? I've been hitting my head against the wall for days.
Have you tried this one? http://anddev.at.ua/load/scummvm_svn55436/1-1-0-7
I don't know if it's relevant to your problem, but I've been using these builds for months with no problem.
I have to admit I've never gotten ScummVM completely working, but from what I recall, you need the Scumm android app, an individual plugin for the game you want to play, and then finally some files from the original game. The first two things are available on the market, but the last one (the game files) are harder to come by -- officially you would get them from an original disc of the game.
Let us know if you have any luck!
I have the game files, I'm a bit of an adventure game addict, and I thought the Nook would be the perfect size to play my beloved games on.
@Arbelzapf, Thanks, I'll have to install those and try it. The daily build I loaded from scummvm website doesn't quite like the nook, since I kept getting install errors.
@ponyboy82, I haven't gotten the market versions to install either, then again, they won't work on my phone, and I think they are a little outdated compared to the ones on their website.
Going to be doing some experimenting to see what I can do to get my Sam & Max fix.

My two cents after installing CM Alpha 3

I thought I'd give y'all my two cents after I installed CM Alpha 3. I decided to install 3 instead of 3.5 because it seemed 3 was running fairly well. The gist from whay ive read was basically "if it ain't broke, why fix it". Frankly, I was debating if I should wait for a stable mod to come out or jump into the Alphas. Hopefully this'll help those with the same question.
So after playing with it for 2-3 hours, running simple tasks, I have to say CM runs amazingly smooth and well. My tasks basically included Android Market downloads, internet browsing with Dolphin, Aldiko book reading, playing around with basic settings, Widgets and backgrounds. The wifi works well - on my home network and tethering with my HTC Evo. I've only encountered about three or four force closes that occurred in succession. This was from ADW Launcher and me trying to install the Honeycomb theme. Not compatible I guess. All the other themes I tried worked. The accelerometer / g-sensor works fine. Keyboard works fine. Battery life is good so far in my tiny experience.
I have yet to try any games or videos yet but I will update later today. I will also be trying Flash out.

[Q] Touch response on ics

Sorry if this has already been asked. I did a quick search and didn't see anything.
I am currently running one of the ics roms and loving the performance gained. However I have one issue. Some of my apps have touchscreen problems. A couple examples: temple run and battleheart. They are just unresponsive.
I was going to see if any of the new ics updates fixed this and but thought I would check with you guys first.
Thanks for the help.
Look for the app "SGS Touchscreen Booster" in Google Play Store, it's originally for Galaxy S but also works for the Tab.
Or you can go to this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336464

Thanks for your help. This is a nice app and it did fix my issue with Temple Run. However Battleheart still does not work. The game loads fine, but does not register any touchscreen actions. The game works fine on any HoneyComb roms I have tried. Just no luck on ICS.
Any thoughts?
Maybe Battleheart and ICS are just not the best combination

chrmhoffmann's CM10 discussion thread: Problematic games

Here's where we shall list the games that just don't work on the latest build of this rom.
If you don't mind, the smart people figuring things out with the rom would like you to test and report back, and report any other games that just don't want to work.
Just reguesting that people get a logcat/dmesg and if your device crashes, a last_kmsg.
The List
Temple Run
Shadowgun
Dead Trigger
Sprinkle
Mayhem
Pinball Pro
Glow hockey 2
Spirits
Here is a Last Kernel Message after testing some games and browsing the GUI.
Here are more Interesting reports.
I was able to catch a glitch from what it seems LCD or Refresh distortion and also some more Logcat Crashes
New misbehaved games:
Free from market:
Mayhem : Touch screen freezes game. Most problematic games do that.
Pinball Pro : 3 dots mute and unmute sound Pressing 3 dots i manage to crash Nook Tablet SOD then reboot/shutdown.
Attached here is a Logcat with Game Glow Hockey 2 that screen goes black when you start main game, and also i included Pinball Pro strange behaviour when pressing 3 dots mute/unmute audio.
Also Last kernel message after i leave Glow Hockey 2 displaying black screen for 1-2 min wich caused a reboot issue.
Spirits doesn't work. The game loads, but hangs after attempting to start a new game.

Triple Town is now working after the app was updated last night/this morning. Not sure exactly what they did, but it's working now

while many would love to help you fix your wifi issue, you need to provide more details than "wifi won't stay on"
assuming that you are on the latest version of chrmhoffmann's CM10 (per the thread title)
what is the environment and what are the symptoms?
is this your home wifi router?
how far away is the router?
is it secure?
are you getting interference from another router or transmitter, clutter on the channel?
what have you tried so far, have you re-flashed the ROM?
give us a little to go on and maybe we can help
:fingers-crossed:

So sorry. After I left the post I was thinking maybe it wasn't the right place.
To answer your questions...
I could be anywhere in my house. Signal could be very strong of very weak. The router is about 3-4 rooms away in a basement. I never had these issues with CM7. My router is secure WPA I believe. I'd have to double check. I'm not sure about any interference... But I can try to figure that out. (But never had issues with CM7)
Most of the game titles I have tried so far come from gameloft. Order and Chaos, Nova 2, Nova 3. I watch the numbers count up and they go very quickly say 30-40 mb in a few seconds then very very long pauses. Then another 30-40 mb in few seconds and then another very long pause and then after a while longer the wifi connection is lost. I go back to the main screen to find my wifi has actually turned itself off. Short downloads seem to be ok. Larger downloads are not. This has also happened to me if I surf on the unit for a very long time.
If this isnt the right place I apologize. I can't seem to to find a place where I'm allowed to post yet..
Thanks,
JT
Problematic games are a little less problematic
Greetings. Since the introduction of CM9, I've found that many games and applications weren't handling touch events correctly and consequently, caused games - like gta3, shadowgun, and battleheart - to crash, hang, or not display ui elements correctly. This was very depressing indeed and I'd often stare down at my nook tablet regretting my purchase. I honestly felt Gingerbread simply didn't belong on a tablet and the stock BN Rom felt very antiquated for my tastes. I was stuck, or at least I felt that way. CM9 - now I'm using CM10 - was nice, but none of my favorite applications would operate the way you'd expect.
However, thanks to some very diligent gentlemen over in this thread , games and apps that once behaved awkwardly with regards to touch events are now working fine! I somewhat feel inclined to include a "games that are now working" list, but honestly, everything I've thrown at the nook tablet since updating its firmware and patching the fixed kernel driver, has worked wonderfully well. GTA 3, Raymans jungle run, GLWG, Battleheart, deadspace; old or new, many problematic apps are responding to touch events now, and nook tablet owners should really give CM10 a go. I even tried a few lesser known games that would hang due to mishandled touch events and they now work, too. The nook tablet is looking really sexy now, folks
tl;dr
mik_os updated our touch panels kernel driver to support a firmware that enables concurrent 5-finger touch. I think he also "sexied" up the touch handling, which resulted in some applications working better - with regards to touch events - than they did before.
Also, once you upgrade your touch panel to this new firmware, there's no going back! You're stuck with CM9/CM10, but I honestly don't think that's a problem

Not correct. You can flash stock firmware for touchscreen, thus revert is possible
