Hello, I've been using samsung galaxy s 2 for almost two months now. And I have done many updates and none of them gave me this issue. Can someone help? I'm going to tell you all the steps I've done below.
I was using 2.3.6 on my phone and everything was working smoothly. Then I came across to ICS frimware from SamMobile, K8. I installed it to my phone via Odin (I've always used that for updating) It's been installed just fine and my phone booted into brand new ICS and I liked it so much. I quickly connected to wifi and set up my google account and etc. Then I disconnected wifi to use my data plan. The network signal was on and it seemed fully connected to network but when I pulled down the notification bar it said EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY. I tried everything but none of them seemed to work so I installed the old rom I had. It had been working good. But after installing it to my phone I got the same error..
Can someone help me with this problem?

GTab running CM v7.0.3 Harmony.
WiFi just stopped working correctly out of nowhere. It'll go from "Scanning...", to "Connecting...", to "Disconnected", in an endless loop without ever actually connecting.
I tried just rebooting, and nothing. Tried even flashing back to stock (two different versions), then to the latest Nightly, then back to v7.0.3, then did a restore (just to get back to where I was), and all of them had the same issue. None of them had the ability to connect, and still with that same looping.
I even tried some program I found called "WeFi". No go with that either.
I've had this tablet since the 19th, working perfectly. On CyanogenMod7 the whole time. No major changes were made to the system.
Does anyone know of a fix or something that could get me back to functional WiFi?
I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks.
I realize this is not the correct section for this thread but id like to say yours is not an isolated issue. It happened to me with Vegan-Gingerbread edition and i flashed all the way back to Belkins 1.0 2638 (nvflash) and its still doing it.
Strangely enough, it works from my home but will NOT work at hotels airports etc (even though my my lap tops and phones etc will connect from those same locations. This has rendered my gtab nearly useless (without wifi its useless) even though i am familiar with nvflash and trying different roms..i have no idea why the wi-fi keeps looping into this "dead" behavior......
Delete...wrong thread. Lol
Strange, just recently I noticed the same thing, but mine tends to drop connection when using wireless tether via my phone. Even though wifi says connected any apps utilizing wifi will not connect. I have to shut off wifi & then turn it back on only to have it drop once more in less than 5 min. I know it's not the phones end because I can wifi tether to my laptop with no problems & I'm able to connect to my home wifi with no problems as well.
I'm running the latest nightly build of CM7 & have been using it since it was pushed out (June 25th I believe). No other ROM updates other than the usual app updates have been installed. This has been going on for about a week now.
No wifi on CM 7
Me too wi fi on the GTAB running CM7 died today. All other computers are connected.
miracle...now working.
Someone wrote me a PM and made a suggestion to delete user. I tried that, and removed my home network from the list. I also did a hard reset on my router.
The next day, it just worked. So who the hell knows. I'm glad in any case.
I've searched everywhere and have been working on this problem all night. I unlocked the Bootloader and Rooted the phone about a month ago and uninstalled bloatware. Haven't had any issues with the new Android marketplace updates or when it's updated apps on my phone. However, over the past 3 weeks, my 3G connection kept dropping off in the Marketplace and on different apps. It shows up as full bars but they're grayed out. They only turn blue when I connect via WiFi (At least I won't go over my data plan!) This sucks because I've been missing important e-mails because G-mail and other apps will only sync when I'm connected to wireless network.
I've cleared the Dalvik cache, went through and rolled back the Android Market place to the stock version. I also restored my APN settings but I'm at a complete loss since none of these things worked.
I haven't posted much because I'd prefer to read and search for the problem online but I'm coming up short here. Should I return it back to AT&T or is there something else I'm missing?
*EDIT: I also realized that I'm having issues with the Bluetooth connection, the GPS connection recently since the upgrade. Finally, I have not had the fingerprint scanner working since before I've rooted and unlocked the BL.
So I need help figuring out what is going on with my phones WiFi. Here is the back story of whats going on:
-Have and Atrix 4G, obviously.
-Unlocked the boot loader and rooted the phone a few weeks after the 2.3.4 update using the method HERE (though now my phone says its version is 2.3.7 and I don’t know how that happened)
-Flashed the Alien ROM and Theme
Everything went great and I continued to love my phone until about 3 or 4 weeks ago when my WiFi stopped working. I want to make it perfectly clear I HAVE searched the forums here and found a lot of others with problems people are having with the WiFi; however, none of them describe the problem I am having, which is:
-I turn the WiFi on, either by the settings menu or through some sort of switch or trigger app.
-It says turning on WiFi and after four or five seconds of turning on it says error.
-Have the time it crashes my phone.
The crashing my phone made me think it is some sort of “software” problem so I reflashed the Alien ROM but the problem continued so I flashed the CyanogenMod 7 from HERE (VERY GREAT ROM BTW) and the problem STILL CONTINUES!!
So what I would like to know is:
-If this is a software problem what needs to be done?
-And if the answer to both is no your up the creek without a paddle what the heck can I do about this?
Thanks for any help y’all can give me.
I didn't experience these issues specifically but I did have wifi issues, especially after GB was released. What I did was change my router to use "G" protocol instead of "N". This is just a suggestion and is only relevant if you have an "N" router.

Yeah i'm having this problem as well. I did some troubleshooting and this is what worked for me. I used the 1.77.36p baseband and used all manual settings for my home wifi settings. Here is the link to the other thread showing what I did. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394704 Seemed to happen after flashing the darkside 4 rom so could be related to custom roms but others are saying it is hardware. http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1235396.html
Hi guys,
Me and my girlfriend have both a Samsung Galaxy S2 running the official ICS 4.0.3.
Since the upgrade to ICS, Google Talk won't connect on WiFi anymore.
When I use the 3G network, Google Talk works fine. As soon as I connect to any WiFi network, GTalk goes offline and I am unable to send/receive instant messages.
As I said, me and my girlfriend have the same issue! And it appeared only after upgrading to ICS.
GTalk version is: 4.0.3-239410 (330)
I already performed a factory reset of both phones and also of my home router.
Any other internet application (Google Play, Internet, Facebook, etc...) work fine on WiFi.
I have also searched the internet but there are only a few others affected and there is no solution provided to their problem.

Hello again!
As I said, me and my girlfriend had the same problem. 2 days ago, the battery of my girlfriend's phone went empty and the phone turned off completely. We never tried to turn off the phones completely until now.
After she turned on the device again, Gtalk started to work also on WiFi.
Then she told me that Gtalk is woring again and I restarted my phone.....of course it didn't work for me. Then my idea was to also turn off my phone completely. After turning it on again, BOOM !! Gtalk started working also for me!!!!
I have no logical explanation for this, but I am really happy that I can use Gtalk from home now, when connected via WiFi.
So, reboots didn't help, but complete shut down did help.
I have the same problem on S3. My GTalk also started to work after turning off my phone. But then I went out for a while and phone was connected to 3G. When I came back there was the same problem again, phone connected to Wifi and GTalk offline. In this case turning off helps again but I think it isn't best solution for this issue.

I have just bought S3 few days back . Its with Jelly bean 4.1.2. I am facing the same issue. Notification works fine in mobile network but not in home WIFI. The problem starts only if I change twice in between wifi to mobile ( wifi -mobile -wifi ). I am using notification for Facebook messenger and Gtalk. I tried to do factory reset or hard reset or tried in friend's WIFI but nothing works to that problem. Only i thing I see, it works if I reboot the phone then the notifications start to work again in WIFI also.

(SII CM10.1)
Hey guys. I've posted before too but got no luck. Did other experiments didn't work either. Now I'm asking again if anyone's got a solution. My note 8 doesn't send or receive Data properly. Works 100% fine on WiFi but on mobile data it doesn't. It shows the H+ logo constantly. But when I open YouTube or load Google it gives me nothing. Just for a second it loads and then stops. When I check my mobile data usage later, only 0.10 or 0.20 mb is used. It's not the APN settings, i checked that. When I put the sim into another phone, it works properly, no problems. I flashed the official stock ROM, the problem remained. Flashed custom roms and the problem remained. I can't use my mobile data. I don't know if it's a hardware issue. Can someone tell me if it's a hardware issue, which part or component inside my phone would be responsible for this problem? I don't have access to service centers or mobile experts. My last action would be to just sell it.
Would appreciate it very much if someone came up with a solution. Thanks
