[Q] Urgent Help For My Galaxy S i9100

I Have Bought A Box Packed Galaxy S 2.
And I Have Rooted It Also.
After *#1234# On It:
PDA: I9100XWKE7
Phone: I9100XXKDJ
CSC: Unknown .
Now My Phone Is Not Recognised In My PC And Also I Am Irritated Of The Yellow Traingle On Boot Screen.
Please Help Me Out As I want to transfer games and music on my phone...
please some one reply....
Don't know why your PC won't recognize the device, the triangle means that you'r running a non samsung signed kernel! Flash back your stock kernel (look in dev section how), then the triangle will be gone (you won't loose root)!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
but where can i find the stock kernel and what about the recognition on pc why its not recognised...??
as I said, search for the stock kernel in the development section there is a post with all the kernels, should not be too hard to find
regarding the connection issue:
reboot your pc, reboot your device, check the usb connection type in the gs2 taskbar (you have to activate usb mass storage each time you want it), if all fails: go into win device manager and reinstall the driver(s)!

Hi all,
It's my 1st post in XDA-developers & I would really appreciate your help. I have the following Samsung Galaxy SII:
PDA: I9100JPKG3
Phone: I9100XXKG1
CSC: Unknown
Kernel version:
2.6.35.7-I9100JPKG3-CL388633
[email protected] #2
I have fully read the thread originally put by Intratech in the developers section but I couldn't post there since I'm still a new member! Can you please help me answering these Q's:
1. I couldn't find the firmware JPKG3 neither on the official firmwares section nor on the Frankenstein one! Does this mean, I'm running an unofficial firmware?
2. The CSC is unknown, I read a post also by Intratech providing the CSC file: "csc_xsg_i9100ojpkg1" & using Odin to flash my SGSII. I obtained the file, so is it possible to flash it to my device? And if I flash it, will I solve such an issue? Do I need to backup my data? Will the data be wiped out?
3. The kernel version of my device is weird? Is it a rooted device although I bought it from an original reseller of Samsung in my country?
4. In the thread of Intratech, I found a newer version JPKG5 for XSG (UAE). Is it possible to flash it to my device, will it solve the CSC & Kernel issues, while updating the firmware as well?
5. Finally, based on the steps posted by Intratech, will the firmware update wipe out my device data? Can you please confirm?
Thank you so much & waiting for your help.
Any help pleasssssssssssssssssse?

Please ask Chainfire in his CF-Root thread (you have got the link already) for such a version ...
or flash a newer ROM via Odin (like described in Intratech's thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) - for which there is a corresponding CF-Root kernel available.
There is a way to CWM, but you have to go for it

Glad we can help.Better than screwing your phone thats for sure.If your gonna keep on flashing firmwares or ROMs then i recommend you download Titanium Back-up from the market. It backs-up and restores all your apps + data and links them back to the market so you dont loose anything or keep having to re-download stuff again and again.Handy if you have paid apps or games and dont want to loose data
EDIT: I imagine when you flashed the new firmware you kernel changed so you could root,no?!

Instructions from the root post.
CWM Manager
Because of incompatibility with ROM Manager,
I wrote and included "CWM Manager". This is a new app (as of March 30, 2011). You can find it under Applications -> CWM. It is much faster to use than manually booting into CWM and selecting these options.

Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
not look for a kernel with all XWI4 name with one that is only I4, it works.
Example:
the kernel was UHKI3, and use an insecure Kerne XXKI3
Well, stoney73, as I read you can't have ROM Manager if you root with CF, and I like ROM Manager, because I rooted a Motorola Defy and I have ROM Manager on it.
Try this thread
Thanks MistahBungle, but I do not see any I4 insecure, only original.
That's funny, because when I click on the link that says "Post was getting large, so older versions have been moved to here GT-I9100", it takes me to a great long list of older kernel versions.
And you'll never guess which insecure kernel is listed/available for download ? Yep, KI4 insecure.
Funny about that, eh
Edit to add - Anyone who reads this & can read/search and has a spare 30 seconds, please take the time to click that link in Odia's thread and confirm to the OP there is indeed an insecure KI4 kernel available for download on that Hotfile page. And then slap the OP with a large trout old-school IRC style for me.

Thanks for your support MistahBungle, but I've asked Odia to send me the insecure and the original XWKI4 Kernel, and he sent me the download links.
He shouldn't have sent you the download links.
Why ? Because the kernel you were looking for was available by clicking the link in his thread I gave you a link to & going to the Hotfile page where he has all the kernels listed available for download.
The fact you were unable to perform that simplest of tasks suggests to me you shouldn't be messing around with your phone in the first place, wouldn't be surprised to see a "Hlap mai fone broked" post from you in the very near future :-/
And what if say that I successfully rooted it? You don't know me so you can't say that I'll brick my phone!
Can't you understand that I can't see them? And this is because of my browser, not because of me! I opened the thread with Mozilla and I finally saw them. I don't use Mozilla very often and you can't say that I am not intelligent only because I'm Romanian and I'm not American. And you can't say this because you don't know me! Let's get this over!

I have the I9100BVLPH stock ROM from T-Mobile UK on my phone so I downloaded the correct Chain Fire kernel (CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPH-v5.2-CWM5.tar) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 and this caused the phone not to boot.
Thanks for the link to Siyah, I used the v4.1.5 kernel and it worked great.
Hello there.
I'm in a bit of a trouble so I need some help. I've bought an S2 for my wife from a guy (in Ireland).
The phone was locked on Vodafone so I tried to root it maybe I'll be lucky to unlock it with out paying nothing. So, the phone is on Gingerbread with a BUKJ3 kernel. I've downloaded last night a CF root but by mistake I took a KG3 instead of KJ3. After flashing with Odin 1.85 I got stuck on the boot screen with the yellow triangle.
This morning I've downloaded another kernel as in KJ3 flashed with Odin, the phone is starting but no network coverage, I tried with different Sim cards but nothing so I went in recovery mode and wipe/format data, system, dalvik and cache as factory reset as well. Since that moment the phone won't boot, it gets stuck on the boot screen and yellow triangle.
I can go in recovery mode and download mode with no problem but I can't make it start.
I reflashed the kernel, I don't know what to do and tomorrow is my wife's birthday and I was trying to surprise her with a nice phone but instead looks like she is gonna get a brick ( I hope not)
Thank you guys for any help.

Thank you for the reply. I don't mean any disrespect but for the last 3 hours I'm looking over kernels and forum and my brain is really wired now maybe.
I've had a look at sammobile but I can't find what you've recommended. A more specific link will be more than helpful.
Thank you very much anyway. If I'm getting advises it means I didn't bricked the phone so I might be able to fix it.
Once again thank you.
You just go to sammobile, then register, then firmware and files, then put the info in the 4 fields
eg
Smartphone
Android
Gt-i9100
Then uk/ire XEU (or vodafone or whatever..but unbranded better)
Then youll see a list about firmware version and their release date
Eg
Lpt 4.0.4 ics jul 2012
Lp7 4.0.3 ics apr 2012
So download lp7 4.0.3 and flash with odin.
Then use the rooting guide in my sig
Then do the other things I said.

Thank you very much. In the mean while I've managed to find exactly what you've said in your answer. I've choose the gingerbread version of the ROM cause that was what the phone had when I've bought it.
SO, now is it safe to go on ICS like I did half an hour ago with that Gingerbread rom?
Thank you and sorry about the noob question, never used an Samsung, only HTC.
Yeah just do what I said.......not what you think!.

Did it, thank you very much. The phone start but somehow I've lost my IMEI number and base band. I must be really unlucky.
I've read that Odia can help in this matter but if anybody has any idea, I'll be happy to make a donation for getting back the IMEI number.
Once again thank you very much.

People contact Odia when theres a problem with their efs folder/no backup.
But you should have a backup and a nand backup.
I had the same problem yesterday and I restored efs folder/restored nand backup.....which got it back.
So try that or theres a thread about "restore imei in 9 easy steps".

I know I was stupid enough not to read before flashing, but now it too late to think about that.
the thing is I've never used a galaxy phone until these days and I wasn't aware of all this things and I don't know how to restore this NAND backup IF I have one, as I didn't make any backup before flushing. I hope I'll get some help from somebody and as I've said, a nice donation will be on the way to the helper.
Try GSII repair app.But you have to be rooted.

Check my guide in my sig (I know it is for CF-Root, but just replace it with Siyah Kernel 4.1.5 that Sun90 linked above in the PDA section. Perhaps you didn't correctly install Kies or kill the processes, all is explained in my guide.
