Settings -> lock+wallpaper.
There is no option to disable the password, but only to change password.
Does anyone know?
What I am asking is about "Set the keys and screen to lock automatically" mentioned here.

That's weird.. My device offers the option to disable the password. Its right abov the "Change Password" button...
Attached a photo as I am not sure how to take screenshots.
That's weird. I can toggle this option. Have you tried changing the password and then to disable it? Maybe there is some kind of policy that prevents you from disabling your password, if you're connected to an exchange server...
You are right.
I googled "windows phone exchange server lock security code" and see many discussing this.
If you sync with Exchange, you are hit by a Exchange policy (if the admin of the Exchange server hasn't disabled it) that narrow this down to 30 sec-15min

I think this is a standard thing with phones connected to an exchange server.
For security you have to have a lock code enabled.
It's not just with the Lumia 800

Every morning my Alltel PPC-6800 phone is locked with a password. I didn't enable the feature so I don't know the password.(tried several) When I reboot the phone the problem appears to go away until the next morning. I have DCD 3.1.2 ROM and 3.39.10 radio. If I enable the feature and set a password, the password I set works.
Are you connecting to a corporate Exchange server? If so, your Exchange administrator can require your Windows Mobile device be protected by a password. The first time you connect it should tell you that one is required and ask for you to set it up.

Device is a Sprint HTC Touch Pro. Every time I connect it to my laptop with the USB cable to ActiveSync it makes me enter my password on the phone before it will sync. This is rather annoying. I also do Exchange ActiveSync which requires the device to have a password set for security reasons.
Is there some way to disable having to enter the device password every time I sync with the computer, or is this just something I am going to have to learn to live with due to the device password requirement in order to do Exchange sync?
I know on my old Treo 700 there was a way you could just disable it but I can't find anything like that on this device.
Help please!!!
So I'm the only one having this problem??
When I first set up the active sync with my PC it asked me if I want to use a password every time I sync with my PC. The default is yes. Try delating the partnership and set it up again. I am also syncing with an exchange along with my PC.
Since you have a password set up on your device, you'll be promped on ActiveSync to enter the same password. So yes you'll have to live with it. I know it kind of is annoying.
I've searched around for an answer to this question, but I can't seem to find anything.
My office uses secured 802.1x wireless. When I try and connect, I get a message saying "You must set a lock screen PIN or password before you can use credential storage". Is there a way around this? I really don't want to set a PIN or password on my phone...
Set it, set up your connection, then change your lock back to None. It only needs the lock when it's initially creating the store. You can remove the screen lock once your credential store is set up.
Awesome. I figured it would be something simple.

This didn't work for me, it asks me to create a code (pattern, pin or password) if I want to create, for example, a VPN connection.
Then, lockscreen requires my code to unlock, and it doesn't allow me to change lock back to none because, it says, it's protected under a credential storage.
If I clear my credential storage it clears my saved connections. This was not an issue on stock and on
Hey...
I was trying out some of the new functions in jelly bean on my Ace 2 and I stumbled over the VPN settings where I was prompted to define a password in order to enable the function. I had no idea what it was exactly, just wanted to try it out. Anyway, now the aforementioned password seems to be set as a lock screen password for some reason and I can't make it go away because in the VPN settings there are no profiles listed that I could edit or delete.....
How do I get rid of the password again?
Hi There!
I have the new Kindle HDX 8.9 and I am trying to setup my exchange account on it.
I am using a secure connection and when I go into the security settings and tick the "accept all SSL certificates, and click save, it's not connecting, which I believe is because it's not actually saving the settings at all, and when I go back in, it's unticked.
Anyone got any ideas on how I can make this work ?
I can't use Non SSL at this point in time. I was hoping I could log into amazon and set up my account settings and send to device, but I don't see anywhere to do this.
