hi!
im trying to get the on screen buttons on ics rom(xxkp8 leak) by editing the res-framework.apk i know about resources.arsc part
i did edit the wright files but i still cant get it to work
has someone managed to get it working ?
i get bootloops or it just boots but nothing happens

Which files did u edit? Id like too see them too but I think there kinda pointless because i9100 has actual hard buttons where as nexus doesn't and needs emulated buttons. Maybe you need to do something with the key mapping??

yes i know but i like the look of it..
i did edit the bool and arrays
but now i got another problem
someone said i had to update apktool so i did and now it wont compile at all

Maybe ask BigBang on his thread in the Themes and Apps section. I know he had them on his version of ics launcher theme. Not sure if he still has them now.

what i meant was, edit xml or smali from yahoo to something different.

yes all CM10 users have problem with the lockscreen weather as yahoo api had changed.

the cynogenmod time did fix the problem for CM10.1 (android 4.2) but until now, i didn't fine a fix for the CM10.
the lockscreen in CM10 is a lot different than the one in CM10.1.
i think change have to be made in weather_prefs.xml inside the System.apk.
we will need a good developer to help us with this problem. :crying:
Why a developer ? Decompile the apk, make the changes to the xml file, recompile, done (whether this actually solves the problem is another issue tho, obviously).
Lots of how to's can be found with a Google or XDA search.

i tired using APK Manger, decompile and extract, even tho i cant view the XML file right!
i don't know where i did go wrong.
I installed HaSa MiUI 3.1.11 on top of the Lupus kernel which is my first ICS rom, and I was wondering how to quickly change the input method without going into settings. Long pressing the input box does not bring up a menu anymore but I read that in ICS it was switched to show up in the notification menu, however it isn't showing up. Is there a way to change this in the settings so the notification shows, or is it the Rom I installed?

If u know how to decompile and recompile framework-res.apk u can do...or wait for next version ill re-enable it.

You can enable it by decompile framework-res.apk. Look at values/bool. But i forgot what it name :sly:
Or u can wait for sandy7 to fix it.

i know his is a old Thread but i found it through Google.
I got a Xiaomi Mi2 with MIUI 4.1.24 (Android 4.1.1) and decompiled both "famework-res" and "framework-miui-res" but i can't find the files bools.xml.
Any ideas? Thank you!

hey bro, this thread is for xperia 2011 device line so we cant help u really (no experience with xioamis)...
probably they deleted/or send it to other place due to heavy modified MIUI. there are some apps on playstore waht doing this what u want.
if still not happy u will have to search thru the apk's especially in values folder & etc to find if that string is still present somewhere else. but i think they rmoved it

I've been using Swiftkey for ages and have been happy with it until now, so I've been using the original Samsung keyboard for a while, and I must say I like it a lot! Great predictions and accuracy, but way to few options. So I'm looking for a modified version, if it exists, since I lack the skill to modify it myself.
I searched around for it, but no luck. Perhaps there's no sourcecode to be found, I dunno..
Any help would be appriciated =)

Would like to be able to change the layout somewhat. Miss having characters like "," "!" and "?" available through the main layout, like holding down "." and getting a popup with these characters (and more) instead of a bunch of smilies..
And more settings regarding behavior, predictions and such, like you've got in Swiftkey and such.
Maybe I'm asking for the moon, hehe..
How about trying Swype beta?
go to themes and apps section and search for note 2 keyboard.
Just figured out that the settings button also serves as "," "!" "?" and "'" , which is a great improvement, but I'll check out the Note 2 keyboard anyway! Thanks =)
