I installed textplus and it allows me to text from my NT and that is great.
I can also receive calls but here is my problem... I can't year anything on my NT and don't know how to fox that. The phone on the other end of the call can hear me talking in to my NT but I can not hear them. I tried to use headphones too. When I adjust the volume it looks like its off or blocked?
Same error onmine I have the fullversion and still no luck:'(
SENT FROM MY ROOTED NOOK TABLET®
Mine is the exact opposite. I can hear the person on the line but they can't hear me... This is the problem others have had [there are a couple of threads here about TextPlus].

Is anyone else seeing an issue where they frequently can't hear the caller when receiving a call, but the other person can hear you? I'm seeing this very often (almost every call I receive, about 7-8/10), not every call, but most. It never happens on outgoing calls. I've rooted and applied the update.zip to fix the GPS. Come to think of it, I've only noticed it since applying the update.zip. Perhaps undoing that would remedy it. Just thought I'd check if anyone else has seen a similar issue
I know it sounds silly, but are you sure your voice call volume is up? Try pressing the volume up button while in a call to see if that works.

That was of course, the very first thing I checked. I usually just hang up and immediately call the person back after first explaining that I cannot hear them. Good suggestion, but I'm fairly certain that's not my problem.
Then to be honest, I'm not sure. You may want to try to wipe back to stock, but that is a little extreme.

Just wanted to bump this post, as this happens on almost every call I receive... it's not volume, it's not google voice (which I suspected) because it happens on a direct dial to my cell #... and it happens inconsitently (one call I can't hear, they call back and I can).
The only common denominator is that they can always hear me.
Right now I'm running Trigger 3.2 with Bali 1.8.8uv kernel
Try muting and unmuting when this happens, it may very well solve the issue

Perhaps a problem with your speaker?
Maybe you have an intermittent problem with your speaker? Although it really doesn't sound like it since you can call back immediately and hear them.
Just a thought. I recently had to replace the back speaker in my phone.

If you can hear them through a headset (not BT for testing purposes) then you have an earpiece issue and should have it (the earpiece) replaced. If your problem does not change with or without a headset then it could be a rom or interfering app issue. I would back up and flash back to stock to see if it still happens. That will tell you what to do from there.
Is anyone familiar with this app? My 10 y/o daughter introduced me to it! It is kind of cool and gives you a phone number you can text with. That seems to work perfectly but the call feature is another story. It can make and receive calls BUT you get no audio on the NT. The other end of the line hears you talking in to your NT but you cannot hear them... ideas?
I've used it for a month or so. Haven't tested the calls on the NT. It does work on my Android phone.
I got Youmail for my voicemail since I don't want to pay $4 a month for Verizon's service. I just got a call from my fiancé and when I went to play it back I heard nothing. I made sure the volume was up and even maxed it out and still heard absolutely nothing out of the earpiece. I set it to play out of the speaker and even at max volume it was barely audible. I've tried emailing Youmail a couple times and have yet to receive a response so I'm turning to you guys. Has anyone had this problem? Is there another recommended voicemail app? I tried Google Voice but it just gives me an error saying my carrier is unsupported or something.
Not being able to listen to voicemails kinda makes the phone part of this thing useless.
Help please!
Try Phone fusion Visual voice mail plus Ive been using it since the days of windows mobile and resistive touch screens and has served me through 3 phones including my current Note 2
Play link
It's free it lets you back up by forwarding to your email and lets you receive faxes.
used to have to dial something to activate it but now the app takes care of that for you.
Good luck
edit:
Oh you can also set up custom greetings for different people and block numbers its really powerful
it also will notify you of missed calls even if they dont leave a message and auto look up names for numbers in a phone book directory if they aren't in your address book sometimes it even flat out says telemarketer it's awesome.
Phone Fusion seems to work very well for me. Although I can't say I use the transcription part of it.
You can also try Better YouMail. It's in the Store.
Thanks guys. Tried Phone Fusion and it works perfectly. Bye bye Youmail.

Doin' big thangs from my Note Deuce
Hi All
From what I understand, the Xperia Tablet Z 4G isn't meant to be able to make and/or receive GSM calls. I came from a Samsung P6800 that was able to make and receive GSM calls so I have a SIM that is attached to a voice and data plan. I'm now using that same SIM in the XZT.
Earlier this afternoon, I turned on my tablet and saw what looked like a missed call screen that flashed by and disappeared. There was no notification of a missed call. I remember the screen had light colours - like light green and blue and yellow (if my memory serves me right).
Tonight I actually received a GSM call. I didnt get to answer it in time (well, let's say that when I got to the tablet, I stood there looking at it and wondering what was going on and the call stopped!).The screen that came up is what I described above. It had an icon of a phone with a circle around it in the middle of the screen. I'm guessing that to answer the call, I would've had to have put my finger on the icon and drag it out to a side.
I tried calling my tablet again with my normal phone to replicate it and maybe try get a screenshot, but I can't seem to get through on the number.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there software on the phone that can make and receive phone calls?
Edit: I should add that I'm on 4.2.2... and Build number is 10.3.1.A.0.244.
I had hoped I could use it as a huge phone, but nope.
I was told the hardware wasn't there.
But if you truly have had an incoming call, then there might be hope.
Right now I'm using Skype and the tablet redirect calls to my Skype-number.
There is..
I use viber a lot and everytime i recieve a call there is a phone with a circle and a wave on it and i just drag the phone to the right to answer it.

Yeh, I thought that it could be Skype or Viber or one of them chat apps, but I wasn't signed into any of those at the time. I'd only had the tab for a couple of days and was still in the process of installing apps.
It hasn't happened since then.. but i'll keep a lookout for it and see if it happens again.
How about Google Voice? If you have it set up on your account you might be getting a call to that number. Try calling it.

I don't know how confusing was the title but I have a problem.
When Im talking on the phone, and someone else calls, the call that Im currently in, is muted.
So if Im on the phone with my dad, and my mom calls while I speak with my dad, then I can't hear my dad and he can't hear me either. Even if Im the other person hangs up, the sound doesn't resume. So I need to call my dad again. Those were all example yes?
My phone is not rooted, never been modified since I got it out of the box and also, I never had this problem before.
What can I do?
What apps have you installed and what settings have you changed? How come you haven't rooted it?

Its my grandad's phone. He doesn't need a rooted phone, haha...
I highly doubt he installed or changed anything since he doesn't understand most of the things that the phone offers. Either from making calls, Skype and emails, he doesn't really do anything else...
Bkup you're /his contacts with google and flash stock with Odin. I guess you know how to do this. And I guess as its you're granddaddy phone and nandroid and rooting and all that won't really matter.
