[Q] Google Voice Search only uses stock browser? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There aren't any launch by default settings used for google voice search, yet everytime I hold the search key to search, it uses stock browser. I have dolphin set as my default browser and it is defaulted for everything except this.

Default Bluetooth Voice Search

Hi,
Trying to set my default Bluetooth voice search to Google Voice search.
1. settings - voice input - default set to google. (only options google and vlingo)
2. default apps cleared
3. When activating voice search, under " Complete Action Using" I only have 3 options. Vlingo, Vlingo in car, and Voice Commands. Google is not listed.
I have uninstalled Google Voice Search and reinstalled it to no avail.
4.5.91
2.3.4
No roms, Proms
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Voice Search stops working after setting default action?

I'm using CM7, and when I use the voice command to text someone, it asks me what app to default to. I set Google Voice as default and it sends, but any time after that it will force close.
So it only works once before setting the default. How do I fix this? This has happened even on a fresh install with both apps from the Play Store.
Well, it works if I just never set the default, but that's one extra button I have to press what if I disable the messaging app?

[Q] Google Search above them all??

Hi Community,
Everytime i install a firewall i set it first to whitelist mode.
So absolutly no app is able to connect to the internet, excepting google search?
If i open an internet browser (no matter which one) and want to open for example Xda-developers.com it doesnt work. As it should, because the firewall is blocking the browser. So far so good.
Now the problem is that no matter what brower i use google.com can always be opened. And i can search with google as there would be no rule. I can search for pictures, videos etc, but if i click e.g. a picture i cant open them. Because here the firewall is blocking the browser again.
I disabled, freezed the app -Google Search- but that doesnt work. No matter what i try, google seem to be above all.
So how the hell does google gets his rights from to -ignore- those firewall rules and get internet access through every other third party app?

Google Maps from Browser Link

When I do a search for a specific store or location in the browser, it will bring up a list of places nearby. When I select Directions it opens up Google Maps in the browser. Is there any way to have it open up in Navigation instead because the Google Maps in the browser can never find my location with the GPS.
Thanks.

Well, seems like it wasn't working in Dolphin but works in the standard browser.

Disable web search results & videos from within Google app (force browser)

I use Google assistant on my Android on a daily basis, with the tap of a button - to get directions, make a phone call, send a text, open an app, etc. However, my 10-yr-old son has figured out that he can bypass my password-protected browser apps (such as Chrome) by doing web/video searches directly on Google assistant. For reasons that I won't get into here, it is imperative that I prevent his unauthorized access to the internet. However, I don't wish to bury Google assistant under a password or a lock screen, on account of how often I use it for all sorts of other stuff. IS THERE A WAY TO DISABLE WEB SEARCHES FROM THE GOOGLE APP, OR TO FORCE THE APP TO DEFER TO THE CHROME APP FOR THOSE SEARCHES?
I do have a rooted device, if that helps.
I am having the same issue with the Cortana assistant app on my Android as well. If I could get either Cortana or Google Assistant to block web searches, I'd be happy.
