i cannot even get to the homescreen...i tried flashing yay's .sbf file but still nothing...what file do i need to flash to go back to stock? or will that even fix it?
Yoi should post in that thread. More information would also be helful such as rooted or not etc.

You'd have to have the stock SBF file to flash back to stock. I think Yay had it in one of his threads.
rooted, unlocked, and running homebase 2.1 with the 4.3 update when it started...now im on yay's newest .sbf update....still no change...i dont know how to do a hard reset without being able to access the settings menu on the phone...it doesnt even load to the home screen...just stays "contacting network"...i do have a signal..

What recovery have you got now if you've flashed the latest sbf? Clockwork or stock?
If stock follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267740
If Clockwork recovery then get into it and clear all user data/factory reset

SBF has not been working for myself and many other xda members... how can you use sbf to solve the problem if it won't work??? Has anyone successfully used it on the Photon? I am familiar with SBFing, but not on the photon... I know that it is the same, but it could be faulty sbf files... anyone have any tips?
The same problem
I have the same problem. I use my Photon in Russia with gsm sim card. At first everything was fine, the phone was looking Sprint's network for a long time, then gave an error that "can not be activated", and loaded on (works fine). But now, always looking for the network. And do nothing. Wipe and flashing other roms do not help.
Any ideas?

did you relock the bootloader in fastboot or by flashing the sbf file?
What file are you using to relock the bootloader via fastboot? The lock file is an sbf and has to been done via RSD.

I figured out hot to get over contacting network... just power and vol down and select Boot-Android (no BP) this will boot you up with no modem, so activation fails, select airplane mode, restart.
When it restarts it will say that the handsfree activation cannot be done with airplane mode on, just hit ok and move on.
When you get into the homescreen just turn off airplane mode. so everything is on now. the last things i need are the settings to get this working with 3g now, because i can get voice and 4g to work.
If 3g doesn't authentificate you cannot update your profile, therefor no 3g data and if you start a profile update you will get into the same loop of Contacting Network...
Also in RSD Lite my phone has a nice field that says:
Phone Type: Engineering (0000000000000000000000000000).. check the attachement

At this point, let me know what you wanna try i am about to trow this phone away. lol
If you can get the file to lock via fastboot I can see about keeping the oc kernel.

afaik, in my case, the contacting network thing its a Sprint APK, I just rooted and deleted after the first boot.
I dont recall the exact name of the apk, sorry

that's not the issue. the issues is that it isn't authentication with the 3g, 4g works, voice works.
I need to make it authentificate with the network so i can update the profile and PRL. My PRL is 51079.
Can anyone post the 51082 prl. I want to see if that does anything.
I hate to do this but a real fix is to call sprint and ask for
Msl
Esn
Min
data profile username and password
Then go to dialer
type ##data#
Edit accordingly
Reboot
update msl
Update profile

Im stuck in ap fastboot failure after attempting to flash back to 173 AND .181 it doesnt matter which i try and flash it just gets me stuck. The RSD files i find all have something wrong with them. Either xml format is wrong or image files are missing. Does anyone know how i can fix this or point me towards a file that will work with rsd? this is the second time the utility has done nothing for me but get me stuck in a boot failure.
edit: i have one file that works but it fails at step 4 saying unknown fastboot command. (oem); phone connected
edit 2: i may have found a fix for the xml file on droidrazr.com
edit 3: The fix didnt work im still stuck in boot failure...
edit 4: alright i finally got it working haha, decided to do a fresh download of the .173 system off of rootzwiki then did the oem fix from droidrazr.com and its all good to go
mods can delete this thread but from what ive seen i dont think there are any?

Rooted and unlocked moto electrify.
i have been flashing roms on several phones for many years. i always rely on the devs here at xda to help me through and you guys never fail!!!
my electrify is unlocked and rooted, been running th3bills cm10 for several weeks, also tried miui aokp and others. all great roms and great work!!
i was changing my keyboard on my phone and ran into trebuchet stopped working and couldnt get it to do anything. i tried reflashing the rom without wiping hoping it would fix it but it did. i did a reset and wipe and reload of the rom and it still stopped working. i then decided to, while in recovery, partition the sd card mount just cause i like to learn and i do that by trying thing, anyway, when i did it hung up for like 5 mins. thought it was kinda long so i pulled the battery. At this point im not sure of all the steps i took to get cm10 on my phone but it took a lot. after i put the battery back in and started the phone the screen comes on, says unlocked up in the corner but no red dual core symbol, instead it has this on the screen.......................................
unlocked

If any devs or members have any info or want to try to fix this or can fix if it does cause problems please reply to the post. ill take any info available.
thanx to all the devs for all their hard work! i think i speak for everybody when i say how much your work is appreciated!!!

Its not erased. Your boot logo is erased and possibly your PDS partition is lost too. Just means you can't activate PR update your prl normally anymore.

To fix, restore your PDS through CWM, and also flash a boot logo through fastboot or cwm with a flashable zip.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
Looking into that now. In the meantime....is it going to have bad affects on my ROM. Also do you know where to get files needed to fix?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
No. I actually prefer it that way. Its just an issue whenever you sbf back to stock and your phone attempts to activate itself.
As far as files and such, search via Google or xda for PDS fix, it'll show either a thread for the atrix or photon.
And then search for boot logos to flash.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
So just to clarify.... when I sbf back to stock I will have to do what to activate?
Will I have to dial *228 or what will I run into for issues?
I have already done a lot of Google searches and found the file you spoke of last night for the atrix (does it matter?) and instruction on how to push it to my phone.
Just trying to be ahead of the game and have my info before moving forward. Phone is running great with no issues so far.
Basically picking your brain for knowledge and help before I soft brick or some sh** and have to lock my bootloader to get my phone back.
So....... thank you very much for your help and insight into this. Had never seen it before.

Follow that link and since your bootloader is unlocked, use fast boot to flash. download the PDS gingerbread zip and unzip.
Doing that will allow you to ota update in case you revert to stock.
For flashing a boot logo, follow this link and read a few posts into it to find a cwm-flashable zip to restore your boot logo: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1187337
***Don't sbf with the uscc sbf because it will lock your bootloader. ***

I believe this is the question and then i'll leave you alone for a day or so lol
Do i have to be on a stock rom to do this or can i do it on th3bill's cm10 or other custom roms?
To you hoslayer13.... you have been a wealth of knowledge! I tip my hat to you sir!
To answer your question, yes you can be on a custom rom to do this but before you do check your PDS partition first. I am pretty sure there will be only a lost-found folder with nothing in it.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
Yes it is just an empty folder. Using file manager that comes with cm10 that comes with root access in the root directory I find a folder "PDS" and it is empty. I'm going to push the fix now and will update my results.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I flashed the fix and have noticed to Ill affect on the ROM so far. Also flashed boot logo. Working great!
Thanks again hoslayer13!!
Thank you xda! Always there!

Needing some help again!!! Hoping you can help. dont know if you noticed but i started a new thread. reall did it this time. Fail to boot 1. only have fastboot. bootloader relocked while rsding 2.3.4 on the phone. it fail and never rebooted. hoping you can help. whem i type moto-fastboot oem unlock i get infooem not implemented or something. the bootloader has to be from 2.3.4 though cause that is what i flashed.
ANY THING AT ALL PLEASE
i can get to fastboot and flash the RDL3_unlocked.smg file and achieve temp unlock but no rsd so can go to the next step. Im trying everything i can and still nothing yet. Gonna keep trying but some help woyld really be great!! PLEASE!!
Hello!
I purchased used atrix 4g. Since fingerprint scanner was not working well, I did OTA 2.3.6 update. It was 2.3.4 originally.
And I unlocked bootloader and rooted the android. And I installed recovery using autounlocker (something like that).
Yesterday, fingerprint scanner does not work well, I factory reset the phone. Unfortunately, it did not fix the problem. So I tried to install custom rom including neutino rom to see it makes better. Somehow it did not boot after installation of neutrino. So I restore my backup from stock using CWM.
However, I got so many problem after the restore, like my wifi never connect....fingerprint scanner still does not work..
So I tried to install neutrino again....And something totally went wrong, I bet you call it infinite loop on logo screen.
So I decided to use RSDlite. I downloaded 2.3.6 5.4.151 att rom. And I charged phone overnight. And try to flash it.
Unluckily on second reboot, I GOT FAILED TO BOOT 1.
I tried to RSDlite again 2 times since the phone was still recognized by rsdlite. And just in case the rom I downloaded was defecti, I downloaded same rom from from another site. But it was same result.
Could anybody please help me? I am stuck here.
Any help will be appreciated! Thank you.

good luck.
So i decided to restore to stock as I do this on occasions...once on stock, i actually decided I'd download the verizon OTAs that were available. After doing so, the phone rebooted, installed one OTA, rebooted, selected the newer OTA, rebooted and after that if just keept looping the "Samsung Galaxy Note II" start up screen and its on for a milisecond then reboots and continues.
After that kept happening I decided to use imnuts Back to stock odin method AGAIN as that is what i always use (thanks to imnuts btw) and the file provided ive been using to restore to stock just keeps failing and failing...I'm not sure where to turn, i cant use casual because i cant boot into an OS. help? direction? advise?
anyone have any input thats useful?
so i tried to restore to stock and it for some reason the file kept failing when it began installation through Odin...then it would fail, so i tried a few times and no go, downloaded a new file, it wasnt the file, still no go....SOooo, I decided to try Adams Casual root/unlock yada yada...so i while still in Download moade, i booted up Casual and ask for it to do what it does....first time around, it loaded up TWRP and i thought i was good to go...some how, i accidentally asked Casual to re run its process....after that the phone would only boot to the samsung splash screen and then immediately reboot, can't boot into recovery only Download..
When i try to go back to stock using Odin now, Odin doesnt recognize my phone being connected any more and i just reinstalled the drivers but no go....any help?
am i bricked!?
Id just send the phone back to vzw as long as you have no physical damage tp it you should ve good

well im actually waiting on a box to send it back out cause of cracked screenage BUT after alll of that, if i try to boot into recovery, I get this message saying "software not supported yada yada. Please bring to Verzion for managing yada yada" either way it states non compatible software, meaning its a custom recovery but wont boot into it i think because it has a locked bootloader....so i cant just send it back until i get it back to stock...which is what got me here in the first place
