[Q] Ice Cream Sunday by Jussada (GPS) - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hello Jussada,
Sorry for my english, I'm Brazilian ..
Congratulations on your excellent work! Disclosed here in Brazil and everyone liked it also installed.
I'm just a doubt, the GPS does not work at all. Even updating the servers, never finds signal.
I use iGO, may be the app I'm using? Have you had this problem? He found a solution?
Once again many thanks!
Thomas
EDIT: PS.: So I've been reading, not only works in the Ice Cream Sunday, all ROM's based on CM7 does not work.
EDIT 11/01/2012:
The Solution:
At the end of this post link, choose the file according to your region, and pass it through the CMW4 or 5.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953630
Then unzip the file on your PC, browse to the file GPS.CONF. Copy it to your memory card, and the root explorer copy it to / System / Etc, replacing the original.
Ready! I got the base of the test, and it worked!
Google Maps feature in this ROM (Includes Default Browser): http://www.multiupload.com/6BYO7YOOS7

Same from UK ROM here on the forum? I just flashed mine with it yesterday, this comes really handy!
Thanks!
Thanks, it was a great idea to upload the system apps!!! it helped me a lot.
Thank you so much for the upload!I have a nordic x10mini pro and accidentally (bad advice) deleted the Sync.apk.
I have two questions I hope someone can be so kind to help me with.
Will I be able to install the Sync.apk from this upload on my phone?
How should I install the apk, I have seen posts with push commands, should I also "sign" the apk?
Thanks, Poul
Just put the apk file on your SD-card, then download astro file manager or root explorer from Android market. And then use astro or root explorer, to find the file on your SD-card and install it.
Good luck.
THX for this pack

THX! totally awesome, great share!!
Can you upload pack aplications from ROM CZ,PL,SK?
Tried downloading this from RapidShare, MegaUpload, zShare & DepositFiles, the first three failed with partial downloads (2x ~850Kb, 1x ~11Mb), DepositFiles seems to have stalled at 12.8Mb.
Anyone got this as a torrent, or a download from a site that actually works? Happy to accept a split RAR or ZIP via email
Hello guys anyone knows how to recompress an apk file from another phone in order to make it work on the mighty mini?
Solved - I used IE.

Hi.. Thanks for your efforts, but this download link is bugy. After all warnings from 3 different net watchers WOT, Siteadvisor and webutation, you go their and they redirect to a link where you must download their downloader http://download.downloadsetup.net/iLividSetup.exe
Can you please re-upload it to some friendly hosting site?
Thank you.

Wow, thk you so much!
please tell me if it works.
Yes it works! The only problem that it only works with multitouch visualiser 2, emulators and games... I can confirm that it does not work with the stock web browser, skyfire browser, stock gallery or google maps... Maybe you could fix this Bitmovel and post it on a new thread as a [TUT].

no need to install that file manually. I have just included it in the new xrecovery update file (in attachment)
just re-install it
It should now work in all appz
thank you guys, you are quite simply awsome! One very last question, will this work on the latest 2.1.1.C.0.0 build?

I dont really know, but if 2.1.1.C.0.0 kernel and baseband are not the right one (2.6.29 and 015), won't work

I haven't tested myself, but I assume it should work.
Same baseband and kernel were confirmed to be the same as 2.1.1.a.0.6 in some other thread
in fact, only a few files were changed.
I will compare both releases tomorrow. Maybe I can find why was that update made
I am suprised SE do bot publish changelogs with these kind of things... I'm guessing its something to do with stability or security.
I will try and put up a full and clear youtube video to show youtubers with X10 Mini Pro's around the world how its done next week as there are so many people on youtube looking for this, it will bring many more people to these forums and who knows they could become great contributers here.

Awsum work mate.. was waiting for dual touch which could be flashed through xrecovery. Made my work easy.
It would be better if you could create a new thread on this.
Quick question: The new file you made was named "dualtouch_v006.zip" should this be renamed to "update.zip" or just run this file from xrecovery with its orginal name?
And will innstalling this throuhg xrecovery delete anything of the personal data on the phone?
Sorry aboute the bad English and aboute the silly questions.
You shouldn't rename it, just install it from xrec with original name.
keep the same name, and no. it will not delete any personal data.
Thanx "bitmovel".
Does this go for themes aswell?Do these not delete any personal data?
it does nothing else then adding multitouch.
it does not remove anything at all

[Q] Restoring stock TW Launcher

Hi
Finally - first post after just reading the forum, and for good start it's kind of how to questions.
So, as mentioned in the topic I need to restore standard TW Launcher on my device, at the moment it is broken thanks to my noobish operations. I tried to replace TW with the modded TW4.5.
TW4.5 doesn't work on my gs2 and to install it I just deleted the stock one. I made a copy of standard apk, but nothing happend when I copy it back into system/app directory. It also won't to be installed.
Now I use GO Launcher and I'm happy with it but the thought that standard one doesn't work make feel strange.
Please help
I had the same issue last night but got TW4.5 working fine in the end. However i did end up going back to the original anyway (some widget bugs that i probably could have sorted but couldnt be bothered -.-').
The way i got my original TW back was as follows:
1) Put the original touchwiz30.apk file and the .odex file back into /system/app.
2) Delete the Touchwiz4.apk
3) Try install the old launcher only to be told "Application not installed".
4) Reboot the phone and it should let you use the normal launcher again, use Home Switcher if youve set the other as default.
Hope this helps

Thanks a lot mate, this is what I actually thought, cuz it's simple and the most logical at all, but I lost my mind with this mess, so can I ask you/anyone for a favor to upload/send on email both of these files, please?

edit:
Problem's solved, I made silly mistake - I didn't recognize that the root uninstaller app did add the '2.3.3' phrase between file name and file extension.
U helped a lot by posting the correct file name.
Thanks
Thanks for the question I have the same problem.
can u post ur stock files cuz i ****ed up and didnt take backup plz?
Srry for lag, havent seen it. I'll upload it tommorow from work or if u need it earlier I suggest to download a rom based on stock one and you will find it (there's stock tw in villain rom for sure).

Hello. Well... yes im a noob. I wonder know how I can extract the wallpaper of a certain Cyagenmod rom, this one: GinTonic.SE
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1207740).
Because well... i like it alot haha. I tried it to make a back up for de APK and seaching de files usin the root explorer but had no success.
I was trying different ROM and liked it more than was the FROYOBREAD, I think I'll stay with that because it has the fewest bugs.
I would like to eventually learn to make my own ROM drive and one with those.
maybe ask the dev for the pic? i guess that would be the most direct solution.

[Q] What are the Samsung Keypad files?

Hello all
When I had Galaxy S, I found out that flashing custom ROMs not only gives you huge benefits, but also has drawbacks - one of them is loosing the additional languages that regional firmwares have.
Then I found out this great thread which showed me what files to replace, to get back all the missing languages.
Now I just got Galaxy S 2 and it has the right keyboard, and I'm rooted so I thought I'd take the keyboard files and flash them on whatever ROM I choose.
My question [AT LAST!] is:
What are the respective files, libraries, etc. that are required for this to work? Are they the same as in Galaxy S, are there more or less?
Thanks
Samsung keyboard files are AxT9IME.apk found in system/app and libXt9core.so found in system/lib.
Thanks, but it didn't work.
I found the files, but it seems that the ones in 2.3.3 are way different than those in 2.3.4 so the Samsung Keypad just disappears...
Seems I'm stuck with the buggy market options.
You can try clearing the keypads data under settings/applications/manage applications then reboot the phone.
It doesn't give force closes or anything, replacing the app just makes it disappear from the list. Tho it's still visible with Titanium as a crossed out entry.
That's odd, how did you install the new files?
First I tried to do it via CWM, but I probably messed it up, since I can't make my own scripts and just steal someone else's anyway it did nothing.
Then I tried manual replacing via Root Explorer and then the keypad disappeared.
I'll find a way to do it, the only thing I don't know - are the 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 files compatible. If not there's no point trying to do it, right?
I don't see there being any difference between 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 but if you want you can just download a rom that is 2.3.4 and extract the files you need.
I think I know why there's a problem. I'm trying to replace an odexed version of the Samsung Keypad, and I copy both files. And probably there's some place else in the Android OS which does a check and causes the error.
Cause I replaced Swype sucessfuly (and it didn't have an .odex part).
Can it be that?
UPD: Yes, it's totally that, I deleted both the .apk and .odex files and placed a dedoexed version of the AxT9IME.apk in system/app and it worked again. Now I have to find a way to deodex the apk I have, and I know nothing of programming
This thread might be helpful. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132724 I briefly looked over it and it doesn't seem to be that hard. Good luck
