Once you flash a .zip file such as a ROM or a mod can you delete the .zip off of your sd card?
Yeah, you can delete anything after you flash it. But if you think you ever need to reinstall i suggest keeping it.
Doesn't matter if you delete
thank you!

Check that you have enough space on your SD card.
Have you got debugging checked?
thank you for your quick answer. everything worked perferctly. but i kinda have another question. . how do i install a new radio. do i have to do it like i would install a new rom: So Rename the downloaded .zip to "update.zip" and copy it to my sd card. and then use the patched recovery thing to load it ?? or do i have to go another way.

You're right, you install exactly the same way. Just follow the instructions carefully.
what instructions?
i renamed it to update.zip but it says cant find such file or smth.
for what els do i need to take care of?
now it seeemed to work out. but after installing radio and rebooting im back on the recovery screen. it says formatting cache for some minutes now. is it right?
this can take a while...
FYI, if ur flashing from SD via the recovery image you dont need to rename to update zip, just select the option from any zip file..

make a backup, once you flash, there is no going back unless you restore a backup or flash another kernel.
the process requires you download the .zip, place it on your sdcard. boot into recovery and flash the zip. I definitely recommend wiping your cache/dalvik otherwise you might get bootloops or something odd.
if you do get bootloops, just restore the backup and try again.
Assuming you have ROM manager installed, just place the .zip file of the kernel in the root folder of your memory card and select the "Install ROM from SD card" option. Then find the file in the next screen, click on it and make sure you click "Backup Existing ROM" in the next screen, that way you can always go back to your old kernel.
great thanks, any kernal suggestions??which one is best?
So many good choices out there already its hard to choose. Adrynelyne and ziggy both make very solid kernels, just do your homework and read everything you can before jumping into something like that and I'm sure you'll find a good one that meets your needs.
Hi, i'm new to this. i just recently Rooted my Evo 3D. i have a theme over my ROM(which is Supra ROM). The theme i have is this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220059&highlight=[Mods]+MaShEd+Up+DrOiDs
however i dont know how to get rid of it. if anyone can help me with this please let me know.
I just want to run my Supra ROM.
Boot into recovery. Wipe cache and Dalvik only. Do not wipe data. Then reflash your Supra rom and reboot.
thanks!! i also want to delete the theme .zip file. how will i go about that?
Just delete it from your wherever you put it on your sd card with a file explorer.

do i do that before or after i reFlash my ROM again?
sorry if im asking too many questions, i just want this to do this without making a mistake
It doesn't matter in what order you do it. When you flashed that theme, it updated the files in your rom with the themed files from the .zip and that .zip has just been sitting on your card doing nothing since then.
oh okay thank you so much!
Is there any way to delete a mod without having to restore a backup or having to flash the whole rom again ?
this is the mod i wish to uninstall btw: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1997919
PD: OP has not provided any cwm flashable zip file to uninstall, is there any workaround to delete all rom-related files ?
The only way I could think of is to open the mods zip and see what files it replaces, then just replace all of them in your phone with stock ones.
Just make sure to backup and wipe caches incase of problems.

Hi,
As the title says i was wondering if you could delete ROM or KERNEL ZIPs after flashing the ROM or Kernel. I mean i could use it to install the same ROM again or i could just backup it from CWM. I am asking because those ZIPs take alot om memory and it would be a relief if i could get rid of them.
(i flashed ROM and Kernel through CWM in internal SD)
Thanx,
Warden

just leave one good ROM and kernel Zip file which r stable and delete rest of them
Yes of course. After flashing the ZIP you can delete it. Make sure to make a copy in your PC though in case you need to flash it again. Cheers.
i have them already on my computer, because i tranferred it from computer to internal SD
